Yum, yum. Right? '93 is a bit after my time, so I didn't have this exact MRE. I don't think the versions I had included the lemonade. Pork or beef, I really liked the MRE BBQ flavor. I did like the beef more, because it had the cheese spread, but after that the grape jelly was good. I was always happy to have some coco powder as I would then pour in the creamer and stir in a bit of water and have chocolate pudding. Did you heat the pork up or eat it cold? And no, the applesauce is not normally that dark.
I did hear up the pork for this one, I briefly boiled the pouch but I did not boil it for long - I've run into the older retort pouches leeching a metallic taste into the food if you boil them for too long. I mainly experienced that with older Canadian IMP pouches but I just assumed all retort pouches would act in the same way. Thank you for the info on the apple sauce, I appreciate it.
