If you raise the back of the bike up 2 inches with the 13.5 RWD, should you raise the front up 2 inches as well for the best handling or keep the front stock height? Also, what does the S and H on the reservoir stand for and how should I set mine? Thanks so much for your professional videos and support. Keep them coming!
Yes is the short answer. Your rake and trail are off now. I ran my + 2 front +1 in rear for a while now I have them equal height. The turn in feels better now. 🤘🏼
When I raised the rear of my Sport Glide it improved the suspension geometry. It became a little more flickable and provided more lean angle so I don’t drag a boot heel so easily. It may have accelerated front tire wear. Not sure. I do have 20k miles so on the tire most of which was after the swap.
After installing the 13.5” shock, how much more travel does the swing arm have before it tops out?. A 13.5” shock would move the swing arm down over 2” at the axle. So one would think there mustn’t be much upward travel now before the swing arm tops out on its bump stop when riding ?
not a fan of the requirement to remove the belt guard for the RWD, I went with the Ohlin's HD 506. The remote reservoir mounts on the side cover...looks really clean imo.
Great information! Thanks so much for sharing. What would be the pros and cons for installing an Ohlins 506 on fxlrs? Trying to decide which setup to go with for front and rear. I’m committed to Ohlins brand.
External preload would be beneficial to adjusting spring tension for a passanger on the fly keep from too much sag. The compression is more for changing the dampening u run if you are riding more or less aggressive.
@@ebshitbird2217 it’s fine but need to make some adjustments to bit have not had a chance been working on the fairing, HD back order parts and other items
My 2020 FXST rides like a skid steer loader. I hope a shock with a longer stroke helps. The OEM shock doesn't even have an inch of travel with the preload set at its lightest position.
Awesome video great information thanks for posting it keep up the great work my friend
You bet!
just in time when my RWD came in ! thanks !

Great question I’m curious on that also

Will this setup work with the nasty hog rebel chop saddlebags? 💼
Using the wrench for the rwd mono shock Witch way do you turn the preload adjusting ring clock or counter clockwise?

How do u like that ohlins 505 after putting some miles on?
Do I see quick release saddle bag bolts on the side you snuck on since you’re last video? 😳
Anyone know if there is a clearance issue with leather pros bags and the remote reservoir?
Mine scrapes my fxrt bags if that helps

Does the FOX or RWD 13.5 sit higher?
Could you help me understand the situations where external adjustment of rebound vs preload would be beneficial?

stock shock in a lrs is 13"
Running FOX not a big fan of the remote reservoir!
How you like that Fox rsd shock my man?? Trying to figure what to go with, not a fan of the external adjustment either.

AZ Starlink What made you go to Fox over progressive and legends?
@@ebshitbird2217 overall reviews and not a fan of progressive shocks
This video is shocking
Remote reservoir. Doesn't belong on a softail. They make Shocks that adjust thereself.
😂
No you are wrong, Stock suspension is bad and borderline dangerous! Be honest 😮
