I like to think that the only reason Shirley learned how to do magic and curses its for self defense. Because of her small size and poor life style, she knew that people would try to take advantage of that. We never really see her use her magic for ill intent or anything like that, only when people have it coming.

having her as a love interest for Courage would had been a neat dynamic. i still can't believe how well they did that show. Would be nice to see a reboot where Eustis actually makes attempts to farm, it can be part educational, comedy, and each episode follow after events from the last.
Shirley was one of the very best characters in the show. And I deeply wish she had much more roles. As well as a part in the Courage/Scooby Doo crossover.
