Please say you're here because of the Queen who said to be brave and enjoy your life!!
Yup1
Yep
Yaaaas
Yeees
❤
All these years later - this song hasn't lost one bit of magic.
It is impossible to explain to people who weren't there at the time, just how mind blowingly brilliant this music was and still is.
There won't be a comparable music-time ever again... Long life Goth Romantics ^··^
I remember in 1983 at age 13 reading a book about Boy George and Culture club and the music scene in London. It set me on my journey to acquire music, etc of Visage and several others mentioned. Which then led me to find the bands that inspired them and so on... I'm grateful for the convenience of TH-cam but sure miss spending hours in record shops in every city possible
New Music express was pretty awesome too and I looked forward to getting my copy by post and listening to the record inside.
If you are a fan from the beginning then I consider you a friend without introduction.
pretty shure, whos listing to it ,
hes get it!
I'm 59 you don't have to sell me on that statement!!!!
Indeed .... and those who were there now fade to grey.... yours truly. :)
40 years later and it still sends shivers down my spine.
Same here... this song still has the same effect today as it has back in the 80s when it came out and I heard it the first time...
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: th-cam.com/video/zKzjKOXuxzA/w-d-xo.html Very well done!
Same!!! Why is this song so powerful!?!
Yes!
Tekno 1981
Perfect song ❤️❤️
This music is just so otherworldly it’s fucking brilliant
The music was originally from Chris Payne, Billy Curry, and Cedric Sharpley from Gary Numan's band. Midge Ure added to it Steve sang it, and BAM!! AMAZING HISTORY followed!
@@JohnnyBrewer68 That's the equivalent of the best Football team ever in musical form!
I founded it fuzzy since bg is also electronics and then to have other instruments
@@philllev Totally! Except not at all

I looooooooved the eighties!!!!!
I've loved this song since I was 10 in 1980 still love it at53.❤
Wow I can’t believe I just discovered this song. One of the best songs I’ve heard in my lifetime
Heres a story, first time I heard this 2017, peak techno/house years for tbilisi Georgia scene, one of the best festivals i’ve attended in my life at Saguramo (outside city) I’m 19 years old, my maybe 4th tab of pure acid ever with some really good moroccoan hash, few hrs into the trip this genius local dj Zitto decides to pull this track as last track for his set, right when the fucking first sun rays are taking darkness away and slowly lighting everything into morning sunrise, I was dancing like madman but also vibrating and shaking with pleasure my G, It was shocking experience for me, young body all the magic present did help a lot too, next day I had to post in fb page of this party so ppl would help me find this song, every time I listen to it I have mild flashbackss and chills in my spine, memories and those magical moments man 🪄
Glad it does for you now! It is indeed on of the best songs ever made
the lyrics are meaningfully significant atop of cool synth sounds.
Glad you found this classic tune of my childhood. Still adore it mucho years later
Welcome to the 80s. Listen also "Tears Run Rings" from Marc Almond
This aesthetic 😍
One of the best vids and songs of all time.
le meilleur de la musique

Listening to this at McDonald's is So Cool, Long Beach California
I've been a fan since the beginning! It's 2024 and I appreciate them even more!
Perfect song ...
BELLISSIMA!!!!!!!!!!
Still amazing today....and 100 years from today. Simply a masterpiece.
That bass line is amazing.
That baseline was the basis of U2s New Year’s Day.
Love this song so much with these French lyrics....
We certainly do.
Masterpiece of synth-pop
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: th-cam.com/video/zKzjKOXuxzA/w-d-xo.html Very well done!

Moscow Disco was also a great song.
I Agree!!!!!!!!
Oh to be Perri Lister in the 80s 😩💘
Best dance video EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!😄
Brilliant song even after 40 years, combining addictive sound & vocals. Too much ahead of its time.
*its
..yeah all those sounds were soo advanced back then incredible....
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺greetings from germany
I wish I could easily read and speak Deutsch.
We always tend to look back and think how great things were. Truth is there were shitty people back then too. However , shit happened it didn’t go on social media and we forgot about it.
But what is 1000% true is the 80s music is as timeless as then and the absolute volume of great music will never be matched!
@@dino17351 In 1981 I walked through the city with my boombox and listened to Visage. It was a wonderful time. We set up our fountain and no one was bothered when we listened to music. Everyone was friendly and it was nice to sit there together. It was a wonderful time that we will never experience again.
Greetings from Germany 👋🤗
👍🇬🇧
Thank you!
Devenir gris
devenir gris
One man on a lonely platform
One case sitting by his side
Two eyes staring cold and silent
Shows fear as he turns to hide
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
(Un homme dans une gare isolée)
(Une valise à ses côtés)
(Des yeux fixes et froids)
(Montrent de la peur lorsqu'il)
(Se tourne pour se cacher)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
(Sens la pluie comme un été Anglais)
(Entends les notes d'une chanson lointaine)
(Sortant de derrière d'un poster)
(Espérant que la vie ne fut aussi longue)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Feel the rain like an English summer
Hear the notes from a distant song
Stepping out from a back shop poster
Wishing life wouldn't be so long
(Devenir gris)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)

I knew she looked familiar !!
My Mother listened to this song when we were still young and i found it again after more than 40 years and it brings back oh so many memories, good and bad, but still memories to ponder on, what a powerful song, they don't make them this good anymore

People in 2020: This makes me want to go back to the 80’s
Absolutly
so true..
Oh, Bravo, excellent comment. Yeah, I have this on cassette and listened to this gem endlessly.
Well said. This song sounded futuristic at the time... now it's pure nostalgia.
The absolute accuracy of this comment
Inoubliable souvenir😢❤
One of the greatest vids if all time
Quelle tuerie ce titre . C'est un chef d'oeuvre.
Brilliant loved it and still do and I am 60!
Art...
Timeless ❤️
Bella cancion❤
Visage was avant-garde for 1981, as was Gary Numan, Bowie, and many others. I have this album on vinyl- many of my friends back then thought it was weird.
It's a masterpiece..🤩
this is next level good!
Музыкальное творчество 80-х - это нечто, это какой-то золотой век
Came here after her video on Dose of Society IG
Here 25 March 2024.
I seen your advice to be brave! You look like you had such fun in your life! Godbless you ❤🏴🙏
I came across a short interview with the lady in this clip.. she said she was happy that she joined this band back in 80s. amazing..
I love this song
one of the most groundbreaking and influential songs
so nice listen it
Just Brilliant
FROM SOUNDTRACK " SUPERSEX " ( ROCCO SIFREDI'S LIFE ) NETFLIX SERIE.
Steve Strange was a genius. I still have my my original Visage LP's from the the early 80's and I'll never sell them and I have had collectors beg for them because some are on german vinyl. What a magical moment in music history
My sister has the same..hold on to it..
Make them heirlooms, another 40 years or 80 years.,..., $$$$
... in all fairness we have two geniuses here, the other one namely Midge Ure, and vice versa.
And thw great Midge Ure
He was truly a genius. I met him in the summer of 1983. He captured and personified the period for me.
Best song
That's amazing
Never gets old
Beautiful 😍
I'm in a trance right now!!
Listening today and everyday 2020..... 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
The simplicity of this song is pure genius iconic and ahead of its time
Yes girl!!!! ❤
Classic song
How can anyone not love this song? The 80s was THE most creative and eclectic era in music, most of it thanks to David. RIP David :-) It wasn't just the music, it was a whole culture. The fashion, the movies, it was a time that relished being different, being yourself. Britain was less homophobic then, less intolerant of different looks and styles. I cry for a time gone by. I was lucky to be a teenager then, and really didn't realise it! RIP the 80s ;-)
I'll heartily second that sentiment!
Fun fact is that David was slightly involved in this release as well.
As Midge Ure went to David for promotial advise, It's great to have a nice song but how to promote was unclear at that time.
The 80's was a shift in recording technology, allowing artists to operate without record labels telling them what to do and how to do it.
Which left us with a LOT of great indipendent artists on one side.
And self repeating recordlabels on the other, as every thing that's released has to be an instant "hit"..
In short: The 80's were awesome.
80s was the pinnacle of creativity. 80s Synthesizers still made way and left room for unique music……not quite like how auto tune destroyed true talented artists from having a spotlight upon them in 2023. The 80s hairstyles, 80s fashion trends, 80s John Hughes teeny bop movies, the 80s advent of MTV, the 80s night club scenes where people actually still socialized and weren’t texting on phones…..geez there wasn’t even cell phones with the masses just yet, only the rich could afford that big blocky wireless phone……….break dancing came out, real R & B came out with Run DMC. Hair metal bands, hard rock, soft rock, girlie bands like the “Go Gos”, “The Bangles”……..Madonna and Cyndi’s careers took off…….Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston amongst a countless number of black artists pushing out real quality music……….Lionel Richie……..Gregory Osborne, Billy Ocean, the English Invasion also took place in the 80s: Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Kate Bush, Siouxsie and the Banshees…………BMX and skateboarding blew up………and so many more bands that people won’t know of today pushed out great songs. In the 80s so many great songs were charting every other day……..”Dexy and the midnight runners”, who knows them? “Shriekback”, who knows them. “Katrina and the waves”, who knows them? “Swing out Sisters”, who knows them today? “Allison Moyet”, who knows her today with Yazoo? Ultravoxx with Midge Ure? “Visage” with Fade to Grey. Perri Lister did the video with Steve Strange. Soooooooooo much talent in the 80s it’s so sad today seeing how precious and special the 80s were
@@deca5002 How to go back in time armed with the knowledge we now have and make sure that the "labels" on the other side didn't get the chance to fuck things up any more than the artists would.
Beautiful words Sharon has wrote down. Good stuff straight to the heart. Thanks 🙏
I really like these kind of 80's magical synth sounds

Gary Numan “Cars” “Are friends electric”

I was born one year after this came out, and introduced to it early thanks to my amazing uncle... but even still today, I hear it and I feel like I'm simultaneously in the past and in the future. What an incredible track!
So good !!
Année 80 top👍👍👍👍👍👍
I had a pen pal (snail mail) in the early 1980s- from Tokyo who was an Ultravox fan who introduced me to this! John Foxx etc., this wasn't played on radio where I lived, but sure deserves it.
