Guys! Olivia has PLENTY of bangers - Brutal (first track on SOUR), then from GUTS: All American Bitch, Bad idea right, Ballad of a homeschooled Girl (nominated for Grammy Best Rock Song); Get Him Back; Love is embarrassing, and of course the brilliant Obsessed (GUTS SPILLED)- all bangers with 90’s grunge/early 2000s punk vibes!
The ending of the video is a nod to the movie "Jennifer's Body" it's the same lake they filmed that scene at. If you haven't watched it, it's a cult classic!
This whole video and her persona in it are a nod to late 90s/early 2000s "girl crazy" horror movies and the sound is a direct call back to the 90s riot grrrl scene. I think you should listen to "obsessed" as well, she released the music video a couple of weeks ago. It's the ultimate grunge/punk/rock sound Edit: As to how this places in her discography - she's been very vocal so far about how she resents the notion of having to tone down emotions just to not be labelled "crazy" as a woman, so in songs like these she loves going all in, playing the character of an absolutely unhinged, jealous, scorned, borderline crazy woman. She also spoke about how she's not at all like that in her life, but has that side of her (like we all do) so she sets it free in her music. That's why obsessed (and "all-american bitch" live from the rehearsals with the whole band, PLEASE react to it, it's so different from that acoustic set you saw) are such an important part of her building her musical world.
I love her, she wrote some of the best relatable songs at that young age!! I remember i was literally crying over the lyrics while i was dancing to the beat and screaming the words 😭😂

This song was also a huge hit in the charts and the music video was even nominated for a Grammy. I just love this song. ❤

The beginning is a call back to another movie, as well, but I cannot recall the name. Something older and more obscure, IIRC.
The cheer scenes, too.

I always find it creepy when middle-aged men make sexual comments/jokes about girls who are just out of their teens.
yet, the world goes on, no one got hurt, well maybe your tender feelings did
@@WelpHereWeAreOnTH-cam yes the world certainly does go on despite creepy men being creepy. You sure must be happy about that.
