That's a LOT of green for a deck that gives you mana for Blue Creatures Only. I play this deck a lot in HB and people don't see how much of a power beast this is. I tend to run it with a lot of Mutate Cards, so I can easily trigger them 2 o 3 times in a turn, sometimes in my opponents turn.
So CGB, you want to explore Prime Time? Have a play around with Omnath, Locus of Rage. I know, I know, big ol' 7 drop Gruul commander, but boy does it love Prime Time. Get 2 of the New Capenna fetch lands that auto sac without needing to be tapped? You just dumped 26/26 power onto the board. If you happen to have a sac outlet in play, that can often just end people.
Ramp means to accelerate how much mana is available to you. Normally you only get to play one land card each turn, however there are certain creature/artifact/enchantment cards that like lands can be tapped for mana but you are going to have to pay mana to play those cards. There are also other cards which can add land cards from your deck or hand. So when you ramp you are paying mana now to have more max mana available in the future faster. This will allow you to play more expensive cards earlier in the game than you would normally be able to.
some examples! creature ramp: llanowar elves or armored scrapgorger, they tap for mana ramp spells: cultivate or rampant growth, put more lands onto the battlefield mana artifacts (also called mana rocks!): arcane signet or something like izzet signet, these are great for colors outside of green It's generally smart to put a handful of these effects in every deck, they're almost always a good turn 2-3 play to set you up for future turns :)
Would you consider building some jank standard where it's all about doing one thing and you lose 7/10 but when it works...oh man it works. Would love to see it.
My problem with alchemy is that I'm a dinosaur. I only play paper magic, and alchemy cards aren't real cards. I take issue with digital only content, because they're "cards" that I can't put into my decks to play with friends; so as a result I'm far less interested in them. That being said I don't mind watching games played with them on occasion.
Dooood I feel you so hard on the standard thing.... them making it a 3 year rotation is just absolutely brutal... let alone them not absolutely banning all the top played cards... like cool.... great... you banned two things... and the decks that abused them are still wreaking havoc in one way or another.
its not that historic is bad, its just like anything else, leave it to Wizards to muck it up. Historic would be better if cards currently in rotation were not in historic. once they rotate out they are added to historic would make the format so much more interesting to me then as curently it is.

49:47 - Feather is my favorite commander, and that slow, draw-a-bunch-of-cards Feather is my favorite way to build her.

I play Locust God myself, its my favorite deck, including thousand year storm, shark typhoon and niv mizzet, plus some good draw cards
Just got back from an orchard/corn maze/cider mill in West Michigan. It's a great time of year to be a Michigander.
