I think Sokka should have had more than one boomerang after he lost his space sword. If he had more than one boomerang, trained and mastered throwing and catching multiple boomerangs he probably could have been a more skilled none bending opponent.
Wait so if combustion man had survived and was alive during sozin's comet in the last episode of avatar and he use his combustion bending during the sozin's comet would sozin's comet have boosted his combustion bending? because I wonder if sozin's can boost combustion bending the same way firebending can be boosted during the comet?

It will buff combustion bending. See enhanced-comet Agni Kai and Wulong Forest Battle, you will notice Azula and Ozai lightning is bigger and longer compared to their ordinary lightning. It will buff their firebending abilities, but im not sure how. Maybr the combustionbending will become some sort of nuclear explosion etc. But the explosion will be big.
