As a child, and now an adult, it’s still one of my favorite things to have for breakfast. Mother used to make them from scratch and they were the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I tried to reproduce what I remember, and cannot. I will give this a try. Do you think I can use avocado oil? I don’t consume canola oil because it’s unhealthy. Also, will I get good results if I’m using almond milk? Thanks for sharing.

As for the use of baking soda to remove coffee stains, I remember using it to clean thermos flasks back when I worked in commercial kitchens. We simply poured in baking soda and then boiling/hot water, let it sit for a short while and finally rinsed the thermos out with clean water.
Did wonders (damn there was a lot of coffee gunk in some of those thermoses) for the taste of the coffee being kept in those thermos flasks afterwards.

For pancakes, I melt butter in the pan after the cake is cooked so that I can set the cake down in an even layer of butter, then set the other side of the cake on a plate that has maple syrup on it. It makes for an even distribution of butter and syrup over the entire pancake.

I add up to one cup okara for every 2 cups of flour in a pancake recipe. My family loves them. My husband said they were the best pancakes ever.
So, if you make your own soy milk, or tofu, the leftover okara can add an amazing lightness to pancakes. We all thought it would make them heavier, but you don't notice the okara, just a good pancake. You can add it to a pancake mix, too.
    Blessed be, everyone.

Very close to mine, except I put a tblsp of cinnamon, a tsp vanilla, and a tsp of almond extract into the batter. Sometimes I'll add 1/2 a tsp of nutmeg into the batter as well. I'll use buttermilk when I think to buy any., sometimes, for flavored pancakes I'll replace some of the milk, the cinnamon, and almond extract with a flavored yogurt. I also make a chocolate gravy for my pancakes for "special occasions", like it's a Tuesday, or family is visiting :)

    Beaten eggs into the pan.
Gentilly mix until soft, large curds start forming.
Add salt, pepper, chopped chives and a splash of cream.
Cook and stir until the right consistency, depending on the pan -you may even turn the stove off.

Ever since my Grandma left me her BH&G cookbook back in the early 90s, I have not used a boxed pancake mix. This pancake recipe is similar to my grandma’s, and my two daughters and my friends have asked me for the recipe, which I’m happy to share as the recipe is perfect. My bff/roommate will buy box mix and I’ll find it months later with mealy bugs in it. The scrambled eggs look like they’re raw, and my eggs have to be firm. Besides the pancake being set, another tip for knowing when to flip the pancakes is that a pancake has little air bubbles that will appear to be ready to pop. My bff/roommate will buy box mix and I’ll find it months later with mealy bugs in it.
Where’s the link to buy the winning syrup dispenser?

I use about half milk and half orange juice for the wet pancake batter portion, then add a cup of toasted pecan pieces to the final batter and top with banana and cinnamon. Sunday morning ritual for us, and that's why my grands want to spend Saturday night.

I've made french style scrambled eggs using a double boiler and a lot of small bits of butter. Turned out well. I look forward to trying this method. I never know what is considered "low" on an electric range.

Oh yes, just made this for breakfast this Sunday morning. Absolutely delicious. I skipped the syrup and added a small handful of mini chocolate chips. My son had his pancakes with syrup. We both really enjoyed them. I also made an extra batch of dry ingredients for next time I want them, which will be again very soon. I'm on the lookout for a nice homemade swedish crepe recipe if anyone has one to share.... Thank you

I was just going to ask my husband if he wanted packet fish with leeks and carrots (your recipe, which we love) or breakfast for dinner of pancakes, eggs and bacon! Through divine intervention today’s Test Kitchen appeared on my screen. So you can guess that I have decided on breakfast for dinner, with one caveat.....no turkey bacon. We will be having real bacon which is really the only bacon.

You all are making me hungry cooking all the breakfast and it is dinner time here too. I love the pancakes you made, Julia and they remind me of the ones at McDonald's. The turkey bacon don't look that great to me and I love pork instead and always have. The ones you all have here is great looking and must be very tasty though. Those scrambled eggs are looking so delicious too and that is a perfect breakfast with this cooked together and the only thing which would be great with this is some hash browned potatoes.

I looked up pancake recipes yesterday and most called for buttermilk, so I immediately gave up because we didn't have that. Thank you for this easy pancake recipe!!

Oscar Meyer turkey bacon is the winner in my house. We bake it until it turns from pale to a deeper color and then the secret to crisp it is about a minute in the microwave (1600 watts) for 4 peices. Adjust time to the amount and wattage of your microwave.

Can't wait to try the eggs! BTW bought the kids cookbook for my granddaughter and she loves using it! How about a kids cookie and cake cookbook for kids? Could include how to turn some of the recipes into seasonal treats like for Christmas!

Clicked to watch how to make these eggs, they seem more runny, but probably because of no creme fresh or butter to ease the color. I wanted to learn how to make these eggs because I saw Gordon Ramsay make similar eggs, looked good, but with a ton of creme fresh and a ton of butter. Thanks ATK!

The turkey bacon review was very entertaining to watch. You could tell they just hated the fact that they had to do it, but were polite about it. The way she broke off a piece to taste it. You know she would have just grabbed each sample and eaten the whole strip if it was real bacon.

I have made butter eggs which isn't about butter. You scramble them over a double boiler slowly and you can leave the room and check on them and do other things. They come out looking like these eggs and they are the best scrambled eggs I have ever had in my life! Now I'm going to try this.
