Two more tips to add here: 1. Add 4 Flopie (#28) in your team + 1 active miner while you are afk. Flopie will pick up items near you + you will have an additional miner at the base 2. To extract from all of the gather-boxes at the same time: You can place a smelter close to the palbox, "begin smelting" maximum ingots or whatever you want to extract and then cancel the smelting. This will spit out all of the materials right ontop of the smelter.
If you aren’t smelting at the same base there is a real simple work around. Put a basic furnace near the palbox. Craft max ingot and immediately cancel it. It will pull all of the ore from every chest and put it in your inventory for you to fast travel to the base you are going to smelt everything

So I realized instead of building a third base I can use my third base as a mobile base. I always come across many ore, coal, silver nodes that I don’t want to base at permanently, so I’ll just slap down my box, storage box, feed box and mining cart and mine everything and then fast travel it to my main ore base, fast travel back and repeat the process or remove the temporary base and continue exploring
Exactly, basically all you need is a breeding/farming base and a mining base. Like you said, that 3rd base can be used for fast traveling when you need to mine or hunt something that is farm from teleporters.
You can use a ground mount and (by sacrifing them) travel to the sanctuary as soon as you enter the game and grab some hyper spheres laying around the desert. From there, it's a 1-2% chance depending on your world settings, but if you're persistent enough you can grab Blazamut before level 10 and have the best kindling pal from the get-go. It's kinda worth it just with how different it makes a playthrough.

I prefer Rushoar over Digtoise for manual mining. Rushoar is far more comfortable to ride (fluffy back vs spikes) , and at 3-4 stars it one-shots multiple nodes AND collects everything in your inventory. Just be careful when you also put Swift on it as a passive, because it boosts the speed of the Rush attack as well... (which is actually nice when collecting 4 tons of ore in 10 seconds :P)
Anubis is the best mining pal just by the numbers and gather rates. 1 hit will always break off a piece of ore and that goes the same for lv4 mining pals too. Plus larger pals with lv4 mining pals mine slower and move slower to the next ore. So if you add travel time, mining speed, transportation it still shows that Anubis is the #1 pal. I only use that turtle cause I wanted the ore mined and all the other pals I have kept getting distracted. But ive only been playing for a week and had no idea cross breeding was a thing so now I have more stuff to look up.
Bit of a side note, but Kerauno works surprising well on an Astegon, for those that either can't or aren't interested in setting up an ore base. A single AOE to take out the entire island of ore.
@@aemon-oniI have yet to see a pal exclusive move as a fruit. I'm doubting this heavily You also can't breed the moves either. They are exclusive to a single pal.

One of my bases is a multi level castle and Ive had a few issues with some pals which that could explain. Though I finally think I've found a team that works well there. Awesome video thanks for the tips. I've just been using Anubis at my mining base but I will have to add a couple of blazemut and try them out. Try
@@Hackzor404 hi thanks for the reply. It's not a height thing I have bigger creatures than Lyleen patching fine. My rooms are three high and the staircases two wide. I think Lyleen just hates me lol
I have my mining base setup with 5 reptyro/reptyro cryst because they only mine unless you have things that use heat or cooling and 4 helzypher because they only transport. Then the rest is berry farmers to keep it completely afk
Work speed on miners doesn't seem to do anything. It does work for the Logging Site and the Stone Pit, but on rock and ore nodes it seems to scale off of attack. Or maybe it's just the Mining skill level?
Mining/Logging from trees or nodes uses the ATK stat, while using the facilities instead uses Work Speed. That's also why it's so much slower for a player to use the farms compared to just chopping or mining themselves.
@@ThatRandomEncounterGuy I haven't played in a week, I got my base to max and unlocked all pals... Built a nice and cozy base with 2 mining ones... New tech Digtoise is the best miner in the game. 4 star dig actually has its damage jump up to 8-10 damage a spin (not sure why you dont see change till 4 star). More importantly dig is the only miner that has work speed effect mining speed.
Tag mentioned this on stream but didn't hear it here - Blazamut also has lvl. 3 kindling, so can also be used for furnace too. So with only Anubis and Blazamut, you have converage if needed for mining, gathering, and kindling.
hey mate, i have a question.. I currently have 2 bases, 1 main and 1 for mining, but my mining base seems to be bugged, I guess... my pals don't work when I'm out of the base just work when I get there, but pals in main base works just fine when I'm out. Any tips pls?
I read at the forum once, that second base wont work coz its played in single player server. So once you fast travel or going far away from the mining base the pals will stop every activity including mining. So its best work for multi player server or dedicated server
Astegon and Helzephyr for my mining pals. Astegon to mine and helzephyr to trasport. They do eat a lot of food and sanity can be a problem but if you can give them spas and pancakes and breed for food/sanity passives then they are the best.
Are 2 Lyleen better than 1 Lyleen and 1 Verdash? Verdash has better Gathering so things might speed up if Lyleen does the planting and Verdash does the gathering, but Verdash does have Transporting so he might get distracted, not really sure how he prioritizes.
@@ericsmith3936 But if my base has no trees and no logging camp, will he get distracted by Transport, or will he mostly stick to Gathering and assisting Lyleen with Planting?
I have a flat base on a mountain with 7 ore 4 coal and tons of trees in there, my fleet of blazamuts, wumpos, vanwyrms and astegons have my chests nice and full
Its funny too because ive been breeding for godroll pals so all my base pals have insane combat stats😂😂 as a joke i have a menasting with all 4 combat traits guarding every base, also helps that they have lvl 3 mining and 2 lumbering. Although that musclehead is killing their efficiency😂😂😂
Astegon and mammorest/mammo cryst have increased ore damage while mounted and can wipe mining sites with one move. They are much more efficient than digtoise.
Thank you for clarifying that detail about digtoise, cause i saw that before and i thought it was a bug, but when i have it ony team the damage seems fine, but now i know that they are best as partners for mining with you and not on base, i can just breed one with the best stats and then work on 4 staring them so i can push lvl 3 mining to lvl 4 while having stuff like artisan on it if it can roll that passive skill. Im glad im breeding alot of anubis so i can give them the best passive skills to be the best work force and eventually in the long run, max out their starts for lvl 5 handiwork so it doesnt take forever to make a mass load of legendary spheres. I have alot of work to do with these things. The only thing i do like to ask is how does the internal spawn time works with ore and coal cause i already setup my base on that one part where it spawns or and coal in the same area, but i dont know how long it normally takes for it to spawn.
So is it a bad idea to put a chest next to every rock? I mean you have to put it into the furnace anyway so it doesn't need to be next to your box. I did this and everything gets picked up pretty quickly
early game i usually head to the cinnamoth forest to get my first little bit, beetypes spawn there once you are high enough to catch. REMOVE THE IMPLODE SKILL FROM YOUR BEES IN BASE. it WILL blow up things
I got more Ore and Coal from Reptyro Cryst and Helzapher than all Anubis/Blazamut, personally I think Helzapher is the best transporter in the game because he ONLY transports with transport level 3 because I always hate when I have Jormitide Ignis and one of the Fire Flying transporters come and use fire instead. But I can understand wanting Blazamut for mining lvl 4 is better I just like things being convenient and would rather have Reptyro Cryst who if you don't have a fridge won't get distracted. Also Helzapher's lvl 3 transport is better than Anubis's level 2 transport on top that it flies so mine never get stuck.
I use nothing but Menastings and Vanwyrms in my mining base because neither need to sleep. They work around the clock and I've had no issues with Sanity for several days now. The Menastings will also clear trees so that gets you fiber as well, and your pals won't get stuck on trees. The Menastings only have lumbering and mining so they won't get distracted, and Vanwyrms only have kindling and transporting so they won't get distracted either. You really don't need to allocate planting/watering/gathering at all if you have a main base that generate berries. Just toss 1,000 cooked berries at the mining base and you're good for a long time. I personally run 8 Menastings and 7 Vanwyrms and leave my character at the mining base overnight so the pals stay active. The mining level and work speed for mining ore does not matter; it only matters for mining at the stone pit. Edit: Mining level matters if you're trying to mine higher tier nodes, but it doesn't affect the speed of which it is mined.
@@5000562Yeah, I don't have that issue because the trees are chopped down by the Menastings. I should also clarify in my original post that mining level matters for the type of rock being mined, but not the speed of the mining.
@@kurii- i use tombats and penkings for my ore base (im only 28) i also keep a couple bushi to chop the trees and i also have absolutely no problems with pathfinding/pals getting stuck.
I don't see the point of not adding a self sustaining food source tho, unless you just like having to drop off food periodically. You only need 5 or 6 anubis/tombat to mine fast enough to completely deplete all the ores and coal long before the nodes can respawn, then everyone has down time. My main ore base is the popular one on the cliff with the coal and ore so has about the highest number of nodes you can get in one base. I haven't condensed any of my mining pals and none of them have any work or regular speed boosting passive traits so its not like i have super fast pals or anything. I ended up adding lettuce and tomato production since I had so many extra pal slots to work with, I added a lumberer to clear trees because i prefer the base doesn't have trees, and I keep a dedicated kindler that does nothing when he's not smelting.
@@10whatsmyname01 You can add a food source if you want. I just have it all made at the main base to reduce their downtime, and I can have more people on lumbering/mining/transporting. That area has plenty of ore/coal/trees so the Menastings and Vanwyrms are always working days and nights so any extra bodies help. The fact that you have to drop off food isn't a big deal at all. You can get like 4000+ berries overnight then cook them and drop them in the food basket and not worry about it for weeks. It's a small inconvenience that is paid off in more resources IMO. I got 2 Lyleens and 2 Jormuntides doing all the gardening in the main base with 2 of each garden. That's just 4 slots, if I had Lyleen and Jormuntide in each base, that's 6 slots. I keep my kindler in my main base of smelting and cooking. I try to keep my mining base as simple as possible so things don't get stuck. It's just what I find more efficient and what works for me.
How come when I go afk and come back all my pals are hungry and depressed or weakened and I have salads in my feed box around 400 and come back they barley touch it but when I start to play again they run instantly to the feed box
Can you do a video on preventing Pal's Depression/Weakness/Fracture/Starving while you're offline? I run a dedicated server, and every time we log on our pals require therapy. I haven't found a fix (aside from taking the pals out of their boxes every time I leave, but that kinda defeats the whole game mechanic...). I feel like this problem is especially relevant when making farming bases, of which you have much content on.
Make sure you give them food that gives back sanity, cooked berries are what I use. Keep at least a level 2 bed for each pal, best is the level 3 bed. Last couple hints, breed your workers to have sanity/food saving passives and have a level 2 spa. Doing this should stop them getting hurt etc.
@@afterthefact6708 That's not the problem, they freeze in one spot while I'm offline. When I'm actually on the server, no problems. When I'm offline, they have food/fountains/beds for san and still can't function like adults.
I used the Mammoth before, it's pretty trash compared to Digtoise as for ACTIVE mining. If you are still saying Mammoth is good active mining, you haven't tried Digtoise yet lol
People really need to get an Astegon saddle and finally put to bed the myth that digtoise is supposed to be the best active miner. Astegon can use his attacks for full damage on the ore. Astegon is far and away the best. And to add insult to injury, Rushboar is better at active mining than Digtoise too.
It should be digtoise is the worst pal for mining (till its fixed) i reckon once they are sorted after all the more important stuff is fixed 1st they will be solid.
If you're on console, I've personally noticed that they still do work even when you teleport away, it's just that you need to activate the base by teleporting there everytime you boot up the world & every so often when playing the game, as I think it has a loaded chunk limit.
Just rewatched this... and I was confused because he gushed over Penking and Tombat... but when he went looking for Anubis' parents, he didn't choose... them! Edit: Actually, those are Bushi's parents, but I still stand by what I said.
Digtoise is not the best active miner, that would be Astegon with his Saddle and some Low CD moves. You two shot or three shot most ore deposits and with AOE you can mine multiple at a time in seconds compared to Digtoise
I see a lot of people from the start of the game breeding so much and I'm wondering how? The eggs I put in take 72 real hours to spawn, sometimes 48 if I have a heater next to it. It takes so much time, am I missing some way to speed it up
@@saifk96yes whoever made the world would need to turn the “egg incubation time” world settings down ( 0 if you want instant open 1 is reasonable if that feels cheap though)
Digtoise is solid starting out, no competing work suitability making them run off to carry and drop a single berry every 2 mins and able to mine ore. A great stand-in for ore mining until Anubis is on the table.
Nah he's broken (not in a good way) he eats too much food too even though his hunger is lower than blazamut or astegon. You are better off using tombat for ore farming, added bonus they dont sleep and transport their own ores
Good stuff. Yah, Digtoise sucks... if I have to throw him at every rock, I'll just mine it myself. Left on his own, he sucks. Also, while you're at it... go and grab Blazamut... and grab me a drink while you're up... 'cause that's an easy get!
'Him', Digtoise or 'him', Blazamut? I've gone with Digtoise since I started... but even adding up all those 1s and 2s... still weak unless you physically designate him to a node... and I might as well do it myself at that point. Had glitchy effects with Blazamut, he's too big. I prefer Anubis.@@afterthefact6708
that last base location is nice, unraidable. but i had to move away from it. its nice for only mining those nodes, but anything else its useless. the mobs get stuck in the waterfall and needs to be constantly moved up, they cant get out of the water and fall down all the freakin time. afk for 20 minutes? All mobs depressed and stuck in the water
Two more tips to add here:
1. Add 4 Flopie (#28) in your team + 1 active miner while you are afk. Flopie will pick up items near you + you will have an additional miner at the base
2. "Attack" bonus passive skills are better than "Work speed" bonus for miners. As miners need to deal damage to break ores

Focusses only on transporting (lvl3) and works day and night. Nothing gets left behind.
If you can't get blazamut, you can opt for a reptyro who has lvl.3 kindling & lvl.3 mining
A single AOE to take out the entire island of ore.
how can you put kerauno on an astegon?
Two ways to my knowledge, one is by breeding, the other is via the "skill fruit" you pick up from various enemies/chests/world trees. @@Cris-ta-lynne
@@aemon-oniI have yet to see a pal exclusive move as a fruit. I'm doubting this heavily
You also can't breed the moves either. They are exclusive to a single pal.
You can see the move being used by other players on the subreddit under the title "Astegon + 3 Wumpo makes gathering ore quick and simple." Though it seems the move is called Lightning Strike not Kerauno. @@ThirstyThurman
@@aemon-oni Kerauno is Orserks exclusive and involves throwing a Trident. Definitely different abilities
I have had nothing but trouble from Lyleen. I find non alpha Petalia better as she's smaller. Even on very open bases Lyleen just derps by the pal box and won't move for me. It's weird. Occasionally she'd just float up to me and stare lol.
I didn't realise Pals fell through stairs. One of my bases is a multi level castle and Ive had a few issues with some pals which that could explain. Though I finally think I've found a team that works well there.
Awesome video thanks for the tips. I've just been using Anubis at my mining base but I will have to add a couple of blazemut and try them out. Try
Make your rooms 3 walls high and shouldn't be an issue. My jourmuntide paths up my base no problem and I have my rooms 3 high
Hey Tag, why did you quit the Phantom Liberty playthrough? I could only find part 1 on your channel's playlist and would love to watch the rest.
Lmao, bro insulted all Digtoise mains in one sentence.😂😂
I have 10 Anubis in my farm base it's easy and small so don't get stuck most times
It’s a legitiment option if you can’t obtain an Anubis or Blazamut-though, yes, by the time you get either of those Digtoise is pretty useless.
@@ThatRandomEncounterGuy I haven't played in a week, I got my base to max and unlocked all pals... Built a nice and cozy base with 2 mining ones... Now I only need to keep farming chests to unlock the technology tree completely so here is that... Unless there is new content I don't think I will play but it was worth the 15$ for 50 hours gameplay imo...
Aaaaand it's patched
@@dramspringfeald Does Digtoise still stop working if you're off base?
New tech Digtoise is the best miner in the game. 4 star dig actually has its damage jump up to 8-10 damage a spin (not sure why you dont see change till 4 star). More importantly dig is the only miner that has work speed effect mining speed.
Tag mentioned this on stream but didn't hear it here - Blazamut also has lvl. 3 kindling, so can also be used for furnace too. So with only Anubis and Blazamut, you have converage if needed for mining, gathering, and kindling.
Digtoise has been fixed with the last update.
Put a wooden box next to every ore vein to make the cleanup faster
hey mate, i have a question.. I currently have 2 bases, 1 main and 1 for mining, but my mining base seems to be bugged, I guess... my pals don't work when I'm out of the base just work when I get there, but pals in main base works just fine when I'm out. Any tips pls?
Pls let me know in case you find a solution to that
I have same issue, did u fix that ?
I read at the forum once, that second base wont work coz its played in single player server. So once you fast travel or going far away from the mining base the pals will stop every activity including mining. So its best work for multi player server or dedicated server
Astegon and Helzephyr for my mining pals. Astegon to mine and helzephyr to trasport. They do eat a lot of food and sanity can be a problem but if you can give them spas and pancakes and breed for food/sanity passives then they are the best.
Mining in wild Astegon is best. 2 skills breaks a node
Are 2 Lyleen better than 1 Lyleen and 1 Verdash?
Verdash has better Gathering so things might speed up if Lyleen does the planting and Verdash does the gathering, but Verdash does have Transporting so he might get distracted, not really sure how he prioritizes.
Verdash has lumbering so he gets sidetracked and starts cutting down trees.
@@ericsmith3936 But if my base has no trees and no logging camp, will he get distracted by Transport, or will he mostly stick to Gathering and assisting Lyleen with Planting?
Wonderful video! Working on my video right now so this will be helpful. Will give you credit as appropriate!

You can also breed Anubis by breeding mammorest and dinossom
You dont need heat resistance undershirts at all.
You only need heat resistance ARMOR.
It makes me happy to hear someone pronounce the J in Jormuntide correctly. :)
Just got my first blazemut last night!
Just caught a few at the 3rd Sanctuary, 40+
Incredibly informative and descriptive video, thank you.
im trying to figure out how you man aged to build the stairs up and connect to the stone foundation with the plantations are.
So is it a bad idea to put a chest next to every rock? I mean you have to put it into the furnace anyway so it doesn't need to be next to your box. I did this and everything gets picked up pretty quickly
So happy to see this as I'm restarting. Any tips/good spots for honey farming? I never have enough and dont know where i got what i do have! 😂
Beeguarde, Elizabee, and I believe Cinnamoth drop honey. I prefer to let a Beeguarde graze and produce honey.
@taznkid1730 thanks!
early game i usually head to the cinnamoth forest to get my first little bit, beetypes spawn there once you are high enough to catch.
REMOVE THE IMPLODE SKILL FROM YOUR BEES IN BASE. it WILL blow up things
@@mrthor3061thanks! how do I remove it?
@SilverNyxx add to your team, select the pal from "party" tab, and select the skills to add/remove as necessary.
Vanwyrms ALWAYS get stuck in trees at my mining base, but I've had no issues so far with Helzephyr
I put my base on the Annubis statue and i never get raided let alone its easy to defend
Don’t sleep on Reptar and level 3 ore loving beast
True both of the Reptyro turtles are great. Low management, eat less and does as good as the lvl.4 miners.
@@izumolee6714 you can ride them and do attacks on the ore lol
As far as I know Artisan does not affect mining speed at ore piles, i tested this by myself and i don’t see any difference.
How come when I go afk and come back all my pals are hungry and depressed or weakened and I have salads in my feed box around 400 and come back they barley touch it but when I start to play again they run instantly to the feed box
Try using a work bell and set them to focus work, this can fix the issue
The digtoise thing was a bug that was fixed.
Hey I noticed you had stairs in your base but in the video you said to not have any stairs, so i'm kind of unsure which it is XD
Such an incredibly helpful video. Thank you so much!
relaxaurus lux dont have glutton and works for anubis
sweepa and tombat is better for anubis since you're recommending tombat anyways.
Keep up the good work👍🏽
Can you do a video on preventing Pal's Depression/Weakness/Fracture/Starving while you're offline?
@@braedonseal4169 Sounds like a issue that will have to be addressed in upcoming patches sadly.
Can you show how you build the bases?
you didnt talk about the best active miner. which iv been saying could be the mammoth due to its great selection of aoe's
It’s he too big though?
I used the Mammoth before, it's pretty trash compared to Digtoise as for ACTIVE mining. If you are still saying Mammoth is good active mining, you haven't tried Digtoise yet lol
which Armor is that? Or is it a mod?
Probably Pal Metal armor
People really need to get an Astegon saddle and finally put to bed the myth that digtoise is supposed to be the best active miner.
Astegon can use his attacks for full damage on the ore. Astegon is far and away the best.
And to add insult to injury, Rushboar is better at active mining than Digtoise too.
I LOVE Mapgenie. I use it for EVERY game I play. It's great.
It should be digtoise is the worst pal for mining (till its fixed) i reckon once they are sorted after all the more important stuff is fixed 1st they will be solid.
I hope they change pathing and how transporting works. I love the Wumpo designs but he gets stuck too much and distracted.
They need to change the transporting so they aren't putting things into the closest chest.
My ore spots wont respawn after all of them destroyed. What should i do?
Thank you love the vids and lives...very informative
Ugh. My jormuntide ignis has terrible passive defbuffs.
You mentioned cryptic and sky(skye?) in your Enshrouded stream but I only caught the posted video. What’s sky’s channel name??
Digtoise on ps5 is amazing
So difficult 😢......
My pals stop working when I teleport away, is there anyway to keep them working when I am out doing something else?
If you're on console, I've personally noticed that they still do work even when you teleport away, it's just that you need to activate the base by teleporting there everytime you boot up the world & every so often when playing the game, as I think it has a loaded chunk limit.
Just rewatched this... and I was confused because he gushed over Penking and Tombat... but when he went looking for Anubis' parents, he didn't choose... them! Edit: Actually, those are Bushi's parents, but I still stand by what I said.
I hatched a penking at level 17
Digtoise is not the best active miner, that would be Astegon with his Saddle and some Low CD moves. You two shot or three shot most ore deposits and with AOE you can mine multiple at a time in seconds compared to Digtoise
I see a lot of people from the start of the game breeding so much and I'm wondering how? The eggs I put in take 72 real hours to spawn, sometimes 48 if I have a heater next to it. It takes so much time, am I missing some way to speed it up
On game settings you can turn the incubation period to 0, so you can hatch every egg immediately. I assume this is what you mean.
@@rosswilding1 oh really. Me and my friends run a dedicated server so is it possible to change settings on that?

Pretty sure he said on a live stream that he found it in a dungeon chest
everyone is wrong about Digtoise he is great for a base with stone pit just sucks for natural ore deposits.
Digtoise is solid starting out, no competing work suitability making them run off to carry and drop a single berry every 2 mins and able to mine ore. A great stand-in for ore mining until Anubis is on the table.
Everyone is saying he sucks for ore, lol (while working at base)
Nah he's broken (not in a good way) he eats too much food too even though his hunger is lower than blazamut or astegon. You are better off using tombat for ore farming, added bonus they dont sleep and transport their own ores
You put him in your inventory and toss him out while at the base.
@@Wonderingmind1678that’s what i do, he absolutely minces through all the pre in my base in like a minute.
