very nice. Do like the way you made the aluminum legs easy enough for people more used to woodworking only.

If you draw on the joint with a sharpie you will know you are very close to the correct temp when the sharpie marks fade away. Rubbing a bit of pine on the joint will indicate the correct temp when it starts to char and produce small sparks.

The lift top bit was a surprise. I thought it would be storage or something but the way you put it together really makes it the big selling point of this particular design. Now I'm trying to see how I could integrate that into one of my future projects.
Looking forward to your next project. I recommend a throne for Weens but that's just me.

+Deacon Woodworks Thanks! I wiped on one coat of BLO and waited 24 hours and then wiped on polyurethane and waited another 24 hour before the next coat. 4 coats of poly with a day between each coat.

So much good stuff in this video! You introduced me to a new material that I would feel comfortable to work with in projects in the future with a low cost of entry, that panel saw jig looks awesome and I love the pop up style coffee table hardware. Thanks David, I love all your videos and especially appreciate how you keep everything blue collar. Keeping cost down is really important to so many of us just getting into woodworking.

This is a great project and something I would love to have and be able to build myself. The only thing I might change/add is I would put little dividers inside the table so I could use it as storage for small items without worrying about then getting caught in the mechanism.

Hello I think this video is awesome and will be using it as a guide for building a sit and stand up desk. My only question is, is there a way to attach a lock to the hinge? So I could lock the desk in place when it reaches the standing height, that way if I bump into it, it won't come crashing down? I'm looking into using a gas strut to make it easier to lift and lower, I just can't figure out how I would make a handle locking mechanism. Similar to those varidesks, but on a bigger scale.
Any help would be much appreciated! Even just names of the parts or what the technical term for this stuff would be great, I just don't know what it's called or what exactly to google to get information.
    Thank you for your time!
