@@spartanjess0012 Yeah- Matt loves classical music, if you listen to United States of Eurasia you can hear the 1984-esc story of it and the moment it bleeds into Chopin's Nocturne is accompanied by a lot of blaring alarms etc that create a really post-apocalyptic feel. Matt's full arrangement has a few embellishments that are different from the original piece, of course, but I think what's more important was his use of the incredibly beautiful Chopin piece contrasted with the storm and wailing of dissolution in the air, hence why he called it collateral damage, government tears the world up in a way they think is righteous seemingly ignoring the sounds of the masses crying out in the background.
You do such a great job w Muse songs. Muse is so dramatic, or hauntingly beautiful, or any number of emotions in one song. They lend well into orchestral music….hand in glove, really. Well done!
You have no idea how much this means to me. Muse have saved my life two years ago, with one song at a time. I cried to this music just as I have cried two years ago, when I felt like there is something to live for again. For some people, it might be just another song, but for me, it’s an experience of soul awakening. Thank you for this.
Please continue to keep positive. I’m sure I speak for all of us that we’re so glad you’re here, and doing well. Muse has helped me in sad times as well.
No words can describe how in shock I am from listening to this. This video was posted 6 years ago, and I cant believe Im only watching this now. This video does not just show orchestra versions of Muse songs, but it shows how creative, beautiful and genius Muse songs really are. I first find out that Muse exists when I was 10, im 17 nearly 18 now, and It was when my dad showed me this live concert muse played live at the Mayan and its always been a concert I would go back to and watch. Other than God and Christ, I HAVE to say that Muse is a band that has stuck with me for such a long time, they have always been such a influence to me and BECAUSE of Muse is the reason why ive gotten into playing guitar and ive been playing for 7 years now, I own a matthew bellamy signature guitar, and i try to perform as much as I can and play muse songs anywhere i can. There is no sentence that anyone can ever put together on how much muse has changed my life, i can never be so grateful that this band exists. This orchestral version of all these muse songs just hit SOOO hard and just explains all the creativity and awesomeness in every Muse song, Mathew Bellamy is just such a blessing and master at being a musician and I strive to be just like him one day.
I think this is pure genius. It shows how complex Muse are. And to prove that, their songs are easily translated into gorgeous classical music. Beautiful.
cenzo è_é thats very true, but i think its even more easy with muse because Matt almost directly takes inspiration from classical writing. For example Origin of Symmetry is almost entirely based on Rachmaninof’s Concerto piece #2
diane montuori No problem! Always happy to have discussions about music. If you like classical inspirations, you should check out Tool’s latest album. Tool has always had a subtle hint at classical and baroque writing within their time signature oriented loops. If you pay real close attention you can hear some Chopin and vivaldi violin style of writing fir the guitars in some cases. Very fugue-like.
I just felt things I’ve never felt before. Quite frankly I’m not sure how to verbalize this. Muse is a band I’ve adored since I was a kid and the music has worked wonders for me. Changed my life in a way even if it sounds corny. Some songs feel dark, happy, sad, angry, uplifting. I don’t know how to feel, but I needed this. Edit: Also I think Muse bringing an orchestra on stage would be epic. Or even a whole orchestral album. Imagine Hans Zimmer and Muse omg
@Bramantio Darkim "Matt Bellamy explained that the song was written after he split with his longtime girlfriend at the end of 2009, and was based on his feelings at the beginning of their relationship." The song was then released May 17th 2010, which is more than 5 months after he wrote it. It's debatable if the song was made *for* the movie. I guess it depends on the definition. He didn't write it with the movie in mind, it just got picked up later. But also it was only used for the movie and was not part of any album. (It was a single, though)
I agree with the masses...a full version of Stockholm Syndrome is much needed. If you do, could you share the stems so I could have some fun mixing it?
I really like the way you eliminated the rock drums, guitar and base. Many (most?) orchestrations of rock include these elements and it always ruins the illusion of classical music. Bravo to you for creating convincing symphonic sound, movement and mood.
Great job man!! I can't figure out how many hours you must have passed in front of your computer working on this mashup...respect! It's been 15 years now that I have been saying that Muse MUST perform a special live with a f****** symphonic orchestra... what a blast it would be!!! goosebumps all over my body!! This just proves how many muse song would fit in so much movies, for example in new Spider-Man i thought how good would reapers sound because there are drones in some action scenes but producers of the movie decided to use back in black for like a millionth time.
This is truly a piece of awesome music. Given I saw Muse recently it would have been amazing to see them play with this backing them!!! I thought your best was Citizen Erased and Stockholm Syndrome but the other ones were brilliant too!
Maybe I'm a little late to the party... but this mix shows off just how great composers Matt and the others are: their songs and riffs are always fuckin' beautiful, no matter what instrument or "mood" they're played with. Muse should take a crack at scoring a film/game
Miguel Pereira I could be wrong but I think Matt did some for World War Z?
They did the soundtrack for world war z and they did the opening song in a need for speed game
