I think what I appreciate the most about zen is how LITERALLY every SINGLE ball, or scenario, is a scoring opportunity for him. This man adapts, improvises and overcomes on another level
Even from the start, the first goal is disgustingly crazy good. To have that amount of consistency to flip reset rebound the ball on the opponent's backboard in something that I'm never going to be not astonished by.
3:30 recovery, i cannot follow the play. I am champion 3, when i whatch normal pro game, i have a fell for what the player will attempt, with ZEN i cannot begin to imagine what the next move is, than i have to rewatch every play 3 times in slow motion to begin to understand. He is the PELÉ of Rocket League.
I was literally doing the same thing watching in slow mo again and I'm GC 😂. I find it interesting how they come up with these abnormal plays to get a favorable position as fast as possible, it seems counterintuitive at first but it works. I also really like the recovery where they flip towards the opposite side of the wall knowing that the acceleration towards the wall will make them land flat on it. I've seen Mawkzy do that a lot over the past few months and I'm going to train those for certain.
3:15 This is one "habit" that I've seen SO many pros do consistently for years. Dude had 93 boost, the ideal position and speed relative to the ball, full possession, and no enemies nearby. Why take the corner boost? He knows for a fact his teammate needs it and is 0.2 seconds away from getting it, yet he actually goes out of his way for +7 instead of leaving it for his teammate to get +100. Sometimes it makes sense if you have to dodge the boost bc that could completely fuck the play, but in this scenario he actually scuffed the play a bit to reposition for the +7. Anyone have a logical answer to this?
I have two guesses: either he thought that he was also being chased by an enemy and grabbed for boost starving their offense which would be a bronze play, or second guess, considering its Zen we were watching, he just made sure he goes with 100 boost on his next play given that most likely he was planning to tackle both opponents from the ceiling and there was no real threat on their goal, so his teammate was able to grab the boost in the other corner and get ready for follow up.
@@holloweraa Notice the last 12 boost did absolutely nothing. Yes 7 boost is more useful to one of the best players in the entire world, but that doesn't make it okay to -100 your teammate for an extra 0.05 second advantage
@@blurryface9910in this situation it did nothing, but it could have made the difference. He actually ran out of boost today finish his play so yes 7 boost is very important, you want to have all the chances on your side. By the time he did his aerial play itachi got to take all the pads he needed.
It definitely wasn't intentional to be slow, the way he was angling his car he was trying to pinch it fast but make it go up instead of just roll along the floor. Thats why he was full boosting into the floor and why Evoh jumped, they weren't expecting it to be soft

I have almost almost 3 months of time played in rocket league and I'm still learning something new every time I watch zen play. I'm a huge squishy fan and I always thought he was the best around but now that I've seen zen's gameplay it's obvious he's currently the best. Not that it matters but it's just wild to see someone playing at the highest level be so much better than everyone else.
I mean, no disrespect to his m8s, we all know they're are top tier players. But I have to say, Zen is so far ahead, he makes his m8 look like GC in comparison.
( Subjectively ig ) Zen is #1 in the world, I keep up to date with rl and its pros but this guy gives me chills its crazy. A literal other level this guys on, other pro’s need to catch up. Every time he goes from a touch its extremely fast and on point exactly, and powerful. I wish I could play this way, but I don’t want to be a fat bastard :(

its also just his mechanics being so good he can do things like that
it is surely because of his mechanics, if we would have it we would do the same
pop it out
yes you summed it up just perfectly, this man is a scoring machine...
6:22 this might be the most mechanical shot of the year, this kid truly is extraordinary
Literally only watched as far into the video as I did because of this comment. He's on a whole different level than everyone else
wait i dont play RL, can u explain why this is the most mechanical shot?

well aren’t you hilarious get a load of this guy 😹😹😹😐

The first 19 seconds of match 1 are why Psyonix had to create the 3:30 forfeit rule
The first 31 seconds really
What ruling was it ?

13:05 was a pretty nice adaptation no one expects a pinch to bounce up like that.
zen if alien

Its crazy how zen does all these adjustments in the air, jumps onto the wall to do a quiick wavedash and everything . It's beautiful
That first goal is absolutely insane… reset backboard double. Pretty standard for Zen 😂😅
Zen’s gameplay really inspires me to grind the game to be just like him one day

he was going for a full field play, you'll notice than he ended the play with 0 boost. 7 boost to you is not the same as 7 boost to a pro

If that pinch from 13:05 was an intentional lob, I will just quit RL. That was sick!

why does in 6:57 he gets the boost but his boost still at 44??
