@@Lukefink do NOT go a gas motor, the rods are slightly thicker but they fail from gudgeon pin walking out, best budget build is any petrol block and head with OEM FG turbo rods and pistons as they are circlip gudgeon, the rods won't fail because the engine isn't seeing the same load as the drag guys put on them and they usually last a while at 600kw stock rods E85, so 400hp on petrol should be a easy life for the engine. The gudgeons will/do cause catastrophic failures from the consistent use of higher rpm. Please don't set yourself up for failure.
11:37 I assume it just became oil starved? Those big 6's, especially the Barra with a 4" stroke, is such a different beast than a 1JZ with a 2.8" (or even a 2JZ with a 3.4") . I just hope to see it up and running again. 🙏

Turbo engine should be good enough, Jase ran one for a season and a half I think at prob 700hp, if not wish someone would help with a fully built short with help from others, it be worth it
seeing this in japan is so sick ahaha loving it, was she low on oil alot after it blew? especially early barras known for oil consumption maybe consistent lapping made it drop low? turning oil basically into water from continuous lapping maybe the caused this aswel but it did well! my na barra def consumes alot of oil when revving high with 15w 50 so im always keeping eyes on it.

Dude, I'm between Brisbane and Gold Coast at least for 2 weeks if not longer. If you need something picked up and dropped off ect happy to help. I've seen a few turbo barras on Marketplace but you never know. Bit of a risk sending something all the way to Japland without knowing.
Super keen to see what you can do in a turbo barra, if this is what you can get from an NA. Need cooling upgrades for a turbo though. You should not be allowed to do burnouts...

No BARA expert but gotta be a way to make them live when sliding. I'm also not a drifter but seen, how some have oil problems with even the LS and others are fine w/o anything special really. I assume you're already a bit overfill on oil? I know for C6 LS vettes in their - GM MANUAL- it says to add an extra quart, on track days and that's corner carving.

Sucks about what happened. But hey, she held out for all the abuse till the VERY end. She did her job and gave you a hell of a time. I was hoping to see a slightly built N/A setup to keep it simple. But if your going Turbo Barra, I would definitely say IF possible, definitely send over a second spare motor. Even if its just a stock N/A one, or even just a block and head. Since its in Japan its good to have a backup motor on standby just in case something does happen, it won't leave you stranded. Hopefully you can get enough funding to get some spare parts sent over. :D
