    This is the second time I’ve watched this video. I was streaming from a phone to a bluetooth speaker, but now I think an internet radio would be more efficient. At my house the FM reception is spotty at times. I’ve tried several portable radios with mediocre results. I’m putting my order in today. Thanks Record-ology!

    I've casually explored internet radio through my Yamaha receivers on many occasions. I have found the stations to vary widely in quality (like you said) but there is a lot to choose from and I am always discovering something new. It kinda harkens back to my shortwave receiver days when I would be up at 3am, fascinated by the foreign stations I was pulling in. That said, I like this device and I think I may get one for when I am out on the porch away from my system. A nice review. Thx.

    Bought it (Before I saw your video), have it, LOVE it, RECOMMENDING IT, buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) I have four (4!) of the models shown in the booklet beside the one reviewed and I love them all. I leave it plugged in. That's absolutely fine to do.

    I have the WR 210N. Some of the stations are the same as shortwave radio such as ERT Greece, R New Zealand and BBC. This radio is very useful. Like the idea of a devoted internet radio. Takes unnecessary wear and tear off of your phone. I personally don’t like using the phone as a radio. This is a great idea. Glad to see that some manufacturer got this thing right. I like to send the audio through a larger speaker system.

    Reminds me: around 2009, I had purchased a device called, the, "Myine IRA (Internet Radio Adapter/Appliance [was one or the other])." It was a small, upright device, w/ a blue-on-white LCD display & remote. It was similar to the audiostack device shown in that brochure. And about 3 years ago, I replaced it w/ a Bluetooth adapter & donated it to Goodwill.

    I order this today Sept. 29 2021 , i had one by Grace Digital , you know that radio you showed with Carol Burnett , it was designed like that one , i got about 8 to 10 years , it cost twice as much as this one you are reviewing here , that one it could get 50,000 station , but that didn't me much good , about 3 fourths were in other langues other then English , i am doing good do understand that 😊, the Design is a 1941 retro old fashion radio , a good wooden cabinet , even though it is having issues , it did my very well , i got money worth out of it , but i am looking forward to getting this one you did review on , good video presentation .

    My favorite radio is satellite, there is a way to get Sirius using the Internet You pay but it's more affordable than using TRUE dedicated satellite. Changing channels on my cell is much faster than using satellite hardware. Since I do most of my life in my small town I do it on my scooter and I have a Wi-Fi to phone connection to listen to my satellite while I'm riding. Just about the only reason I have the satellite radio is because of the raw comedy which is very raunchy. But there's other music that I like and you get tired of different things so I like to have a good variety. For roughly $5 a month it's my little luxury.

      Not only that, if Skytune ever shuts down, this is going to be tough to use at all.
      Also, not all stations are on Skytune.
      There is apparently a way to add stations by submitting the url to Skytune, but I'm not sure that they will add ANY station you request.

    • @gregsmith9183
      @gregsmith9183 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@m.k.8158 True. I just make a playlist of all my favourite internet radio stations and play it through a HTPC or other media device that can play it. Though its tough keeping up with all the changes as stations come and go all the time as well as change stream URL and add new stations. Though stand alone Internet radios are good if you can add your own stations and sort them for easier finding. Whilst not being limited to the number of stations you can add.

    The problem with these radios is that you are dependent on an internet database to use these radios. Many of us were burned by the reveiva shutdown. Unless there is a manual workaround just in case this happens again, I don't trust these radios anymore, even though I'd like to buy one.

    Can I turn on and off or switch between channels via a mobile phone app? The reason I ask is I'm often away all day and would like to turn radio on or off or select channels to start at varied times through out the day and play. I have pets home alone all day and they behave well and relax and don't become depressed and develop anxiety with a radio playing softly in the home.

    One speaker doesn't = stereo, a disappointment. For a very good internet website, I enjoy vtuner - quality sound. Select the station(s) of your choice. It would be preferable to type in the specific piece of music one would care to listen to, but not available. TH-cam has specific music to select, but you only have what they have available - a good selection if it meets ones preferences.

    This is society's poorest radio, I think. It isn't our traditional analog. It also gobbles up ☝$60.00-$80.00 a month. Sounds like 👍 this become popular in 2005-2006. It's TOO digital for my liking 👍. I like 👍 dialing around on Chinese table radios 📻, the kind 👌 with knobs 👌. Those, such as from Radio 📻 Shack. Some favorites came out in 1998, or 1999, and I enjoyed what designs they had, until about 2003, or 2004. After this, things starting going downhill. I even remember a GREAT 👍 analog table radio 📻 that our next door 🚪 neighbor had. It was 1975, or 1976. I went over there for their GREAT 👍 apple 🍎 dumplings!! How quality has gone downhill since then. Your friend, Jeff.
