I think what she means by 「達筆」(Tappitsu) is handwriting. You can notice she's articulating it "Menya BotaNNNNNNNN" - what she refers to is the way 「ん」is finished off, with that long "tail" at the end. It's about Japanese calligraphy. So instead of "skillful placement" I would use "skillfull handwriting". And following this, 「上に登ってってるよね」 - It's not "I was climbing up", it's "IT'S climbing up". The brush mark, that is.
