I cried watching it in te Reo. I missed hearing the language, having left Aotearoa several years ago , even though I only catch a few of the words. My embarrassment is that I lived there for so long and never learned the language. After 3 years in a European country, I was fluent enough in that language to get along. I'll die homesick for the land of the long white cloud.
"Moana" is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time, in large part due to Auli'i's remarkable voice and charm. What a fabulous talent and a lovely person.
This is a stunning interview. Firstly I was knocked out by her beauty. But then she produced an array of voices. As a Brit, I can say that her Sally Bowles accent is spot on. I can only hope that her Cabaret performance is recorded for posterity.
Wish more people would show this much love towards Rachel Zegler on social media. After all, her & Auli’li are both gorgeous, talented, musical theater performers & are both also strong, fun-loving women. Not to mention, they both likely have love towards each other
Holy crap, she is so damn smart. Definitely in her prime and rising. Keep that passion going. Looking forward to seeing her passion and talent in more works
Unrequested fact: Cravalho is a misspelled version of the Portuguese name Carvalho. I'm guessing at least one of her ancestors was Portuguese, likely from the Açores.
A lot of Disney princes, ptincesses, and other heroes have been great voice actors (notably Eric, Ariel, and Beast's actors). Really wish Disney would help it's actors get more voiceover work.
Saw Cabaret last week - very amazing version. Had seen the previous staging in 2016 as well. Powerful experience. Adam Lambert was in and she was out - but show needs no celebrity hype.

Wow, if there is ever a script for a live action Betty Boop story, we got our star. She even has her hair. But it's those eyes and cheeks that really do it.
So why not inviting the two Moana 2 Grammy songwriters Emily Bear (also Emmy) and Abigail Barlow. The 3 + Steven would have been made a killer live performance of the songs. Btw. Emily Bear sat next to Jon Batiste in Juilliard Jazz Classes as a 8yo… and mentored by Quincy Jones since being 9.. I am pretty sure she would have arranged a killer version of „Can I get a a Chee Hoo“ for singing Steven.
@@Sharyk808 I did not intend to offend anyone. I know Auli'i lives in 21st century. But she is Moana to me and Moana represents a completely different heroic era and the amazing people who first discovered every inhabitable island in the Pacific. My (strange) reaction was absolutely authentic. I somehow expected her to appear in Moana attire.
@@arctic_haze I hear you! Seeing Dame Maggie Smith in 21st century clothing for TV interviews was always a surprise - I was so used to her "Downton Abbey" persona 😅.
She's good at talking so I imagine he wanted to get her some talking time. She got him to do the British accent thing a little bit, that was something.
It's a shame her talent was wasted on what could have been a great TV series, or a great movie, and instead on a TV series torn up and stapled together in a worse outcome.
@@arctic_haze Doing an accent "off the cuff" doesn't give you a chance to prepare. I'm confident that her Sally Bowles dialogue is magnificent - Broadway won't accept anything less.
She’s a ray of sunshine
My goodness, she is blessed with a litany of talents and such beauty!

She's the voice of a generation. I'm in love, and there's meaning in life against hatred and dullness.

Stephen, thank you for hosting this delightful guest!
Moana is my favorite! So excited about the sequel!

What a lovely show to watch with my morning coffee, thank you. 😊❤
So elegant. Represent 808 and kanaka maoli 🤙🏾

As a British person I want to hear more of her British accent. Both good and hilarious
She will go places. What a wonderful and beautiful woman! Mahalo!!!
Never heard of her before, but she is absolutely charming 😍
Her vocal talents are amazing!
She literally is so sweet ❤

This was a lovely interview, and the importance and pride that the movie brings to Polynesian people is inspiring!
So charming
Outstanding interview, she's absolutely awesome.

First Hawaiian I’ve seen on TLS ❤

So great to see healthy and realistic looking human in the entertainment industry. She's so beautiful!

I don’t say this at all. But she’s fucking cute. Her personality and appearance.
the way she speaks reminds me of anya taylor-joy
Amazing Girl 👍🏿👍🏿
She’s undoubtedly a Disney princess
Portuguese fan here! :D
I wish I lived in New York to see her on stage ❤
My goodness,a goddess !
I clicked because she’s hot, I stayed because she’s fucking talented.

Liked Moana so Much👀✌️
I miss hand drawn animation. CG animation looks so... CG. I remember when Pixar put out the desk lamp video. Yep, I'm old...
Moana❤

I second that!
For me Auli'i is Moana and Moana is Auli'i. After the clip. I was actually surprised she walked on the scene in shoes.

I seriously thought that was Sally Field and Burt Reynolds at first glance, but of course, it's Shannon and Duncan.
She makes me want to be 24 again!
ouch
This interview was odd.. he barely engaged with her answers and just moved on to the next question 🙄
