Rockets and Celtics fans, I have a special video coming out tonight regarding the Baylor Scheierman and Reed Sheppard picks I love both! Rockets fans, I’m sure you saw Sheppard on the thumbnail so I want to share here how I feel: PERFECT fit! 2nd best player in the class on my big board. Rafael Stone killed it!
I've been wanting Rob Dillingham on the Spurs for 6 months. I was over the moon for about 1 minute and then everything came crashing down. Even the day-after, I'm still devastated.
Hornets fan, I’m not totally upset with the Salaun pick. If there were ever a draft to go upside, it’s this one and from what I’ve heard, Tidjane has an insane motor
Hornets fan here. I like the pick. Pj Washington was small for the 4 spot, and was offensive minded. We won’t need Salaun to shoot the ball, so I don’t really understand his criticism here. We needed size and dept at the 4-5. We are so guard heavy, we had to select a foward, and I truly think he was the best option all along at 6. I just wondered if we could’ve got him while trading back, drafted Clingan and traded him to blazers, then got salaun, and a second round. I think Clingan is that good at center. Clingan edey and ware are the centers to immediately get minutes and starts. Now we have mark Williams and arguably the best backup value contract at center in Nick richards, drafting a PF makes the most sense so I 100% vote it’s a winner and not a loser. He’s a more athletic but smaller Rudy gobert who has potential to shoot the ball.
Yes, sir, don't let this guy fool you. He's actually a great pick for Charlotte and that young core. He will develop and will def be a riser on future redrafts
@@guibblegabble1280 yeah just thinking of matchups for him. He’s the only guy in the draft that can guard 1-5 efficiently, besides Alex sarr, maybe daron Holmes. He arguably is the best defender in the draft besides stephon castle or a Ryan Dunn. And this makes me so happy because we were high on Cody Williams and Knecht, so drafting Salaun suggests that our management has faith in Tre Mann and Nick smith jr, who I think will flourish into the best bench role players in the east in the next few years. So not trading Nick smith or tre Mann anytime soon. Big brain play is to trade up in this second round and grab Tyler smith. Or trade back, and grab a Jalen bridges. Add more length and youth please. We can get our vets through trades and free agency. We need youth on the floor
Hornets were maligned for picking Brandon Miller over Scoot. I trust Salaun to be a high motor and be just an everywhere type of guy that will impact the game more rather than providing eye popping stats.
@@johnscilleto Lol no I’m a Bulls fan the only 4 teams I do not like are the Bucks, Cavs, Lakers, and Heat. The Lakers picked my 6th ranked prospect 17th and they need shooting/athleticism that’s why they got an A++
I think the Hornets are just planning for the future and this guy is the definition of a future player. Let his game develop and let it all take time to come together. We are not ready to compete and no single player from last night was going to change that. I get how outside looking in it could seem like a loss. I really do. But Hornets fans have been asking for a proper rebuild/retool for years and this pick proves that we are finally getting one. I like Tidjane's upside and honestly outside of our key players, he might already be one of the best players on the roster. His game just needs to be refined and I actually trust the trajectory of his shot. He has been an elite shooter but has been respectable shooting roughly 35% across multiple tournaments, competitions...etc.
Saläun has the potential to be the best player in this draft. Also has the potential to be a complete bust though 😵💫 I really wanted the Spurs to get him but I'm happy for him to reach such an unexpected high pick
Yeah the Bucks showed their hand on this one. They are second guessing giving up all those picks for Dame and know they are getting older so they drafted a guy that could be great in five years because they aren't gonna get another chance for awhile.
tbh I feel like the best fit for Charlotte was Ron Holland, but seeing how Detroit decided to sabotage themselves by choosing him as another non-shooter in their roster I feel like Hornets made a pretty bold pick, hoping that at the very least his rim presence will immediately translate into an improvement for the whole team, and if they manage his development well, then in 5 years we will be wondering why Spurs or Detroit passed on him. His 3pt shooting also isn't really that atrocious, it has to be noted that his % is much better than Wemby's was last season in the same league, even tho they shot at similar volume - although, obviously, Salaun wasn't even getting a quarter of Wemby's defensive attention. Overall, I'm intrigued by that pick, especially as a Spurs fan who hoped that we will pick him at 8th, it's a ballsy move from Hornets, just like last years pick of Brandon Miller, which turned out to be the right choice
Stephon castle is going to be a killer on Defense lock down potential. Will slowly develop his three point shot and be a solid starter in 20yrs. Jk in 1-2 yrs. 🔥
Bros on here clowning Charlottes pick saying he went way too early, yet the Spurs were absolutely gonna take him at 8 if there. If he was their guy, then take him.
If Spurs take him then it would’ve been their problem. Can’t justify taking a guy early if I was low on him. IMO, better options available for Charlotte
Spurs decided to move the 8th pick because charlotte took the guy they wanted. He has a a lot of upside he is a Gianni’s level athlete with a way better shot at this point. Incredible work ethic and a high motor when playing. I think in a couple years he will be a steal at 6
Sucks Salaun went 6th and not 7th to Portland. Not mad at Clingan bc they need a Ayton replacement, i really dont like Aytons mindset and playstyle. He is scared of contact and doesnt use his god given abilities on defense. Hes soft. A big needs to bang down low and Clingan can do that going forward. Hoping Ayton isnt here past next season.
How is Knecht a loser? He got into a playoff team that desperately needs him and even the coach JJ Reddick played exactly like him. Plus its the Lakers lol
I disagree with your take on the Hornets being losers. I mean, last year, you said they were losers for picking Miller over Scoot but liked James Nnaji in the second (that guy might not ever play a game in the association). Frankly, I see way more potential and polish in Salaün than I did with James.
OKC are biggest loser in this years draft they didnt solve any of their needs Adding guards to already stacked backcourt one of them wont be playing this year while other is turnover prone While Kyle filipowski and tyler smith went undrafted they even had chance to add Kalel Ware
As a okc fan I agree but kel el ware was never getting drafted by okc but okc should have at least drafted a big wing like Jaylon Tyson or Tristan Da Silva
Hard disagree. Topic was by far the best talent available on the board at 12. He was an upside swing that takes nothing away from the team. Dillon Jones isn't even really a guard, an he plays much more like a wing. He was also one of the best rebounders at his position in the country. He has excellent defensive instincts and is decisive with the ball, which is a very good thing in OKC's offense. He also fits the Thunder's Modus Operandi of players who can guard multiple positions at a high level. Also why would the Thunder need to address size in the draft when they have like $35 million in cap space? There is no reason to stress about size in the least right now.
This Atlanta GM was treating the number 1 pick like Wemby was in the draft lol.. He should've traded the pick with Portland to trade Ayton to the Hawks, Ayton wanted to be there and Portland could've drafted Alex Sarr like they wanted. Winner of the draft might be the Wizards.
Utah, Minnesota, and Portland all won tonight. Utah coming out of the draft with Cody and Collier is amazing and Portland with Clingan and Deni is amazing. Minnesota gets their guard for the future and a great nba ready prospect in TSJ.
Williams reportedly would have gone 3 or 4 to the Jazz if they'd won the lotto. That's high praise. Collier at 29 is a lot like Sensabaugh at 28 last year - college experience was odd, injuries hurt ability to play, and talent was unquestioned. Great pick at 29.
20:02 As a Charlotte Hornets fan at first I was highly disappointed and upset but honestly the pick is aging well so far just knowing the work ethic and the physical tools and the potential to develop the shot is exciting
Idk what the Spurs are doing. Everyone talks about the "VALUE" of draft picks. Last year they traded away Leonard Miller, this year Rob Dillingham. Maybe one or both of these players would have worked out. Especially with a rebuilding team.
Utility Sports excellent first round draft analysis. Agreed Bucks definitely reached with their pick, he’s not NBA ready and doesn’t move the needle for a team trying to win a championship. Pistons grabbing Holland also seems like a horrendous pick. Cannot imagine the team improving with Holland and Thompson bricking shots.
Having top tier defence at point of attack, the rim as well as wing would make it extremely hard to game plan against. With the US AAU culture, finding defensive players is much harder than finding shooters. Can't argue that Boston might not win it all without Jrue defending the point.
@@sleepyheadz Excellent point. Defense is more complicated to teach, and shooting for athletes of NBA caliber can be taught how to shoot correctly. The Spurs have already proved it a few times, namely Kawhi Leonard or, speaking of the Celtics, Derrick White.

Agree w most of this, but I think Castle will bust as a non-shooter. Maybe a good defender and decent slasher, but more of a 12-15 type pick and comparable to Cam Whitmore.
You can at least base Cody’s frame off his brothers Cody is taller and Jalen came out 3 years older. Jalen plays PF now at 6,5. Cody will be 225 in 2 years
Could have been better for Spurs but not bad. Not in love with pick but Castle will be aight. And snagging a couple of firsts for 8 was nice considering Salaun was gone. Good job. Second round should be fun.
Listen, for having seen him play (I live in Cholet, where he played) Salaün could very well be the best player in the draft. He's raw AF but Charlotte ain't winning anytime soon anyway. For me if you take Risacher at 1, the draft is weak enough for you to gamble on Salaün.
@@louisv5345 that’s what I’m saying! I see a mini Giannis in there and with his relationship with Vic (sigh) could have been magnifique. Plus his rawness along with castle’s would have allowed us another development year and we could be in running for traore next year. Oh well. C’est la vie.
@@guibblegabble1280 hell no. Charlotte isn’t winning a chip any time soon and is going for 2025 draft stock so to get a super project is awesome. I think he is gonna be a great and him next to Wemby castle and Vassell would have been magnifique to watch. Y’all got a good one.
@@bzhandle as a Spurs fan i'd want another french true point guard for 2025 in Nolan Traoré. Absolute bucket and he would benefit a lot of the Spurs' high defensive strength, since he's a bit of a liability on this side of the floor. Good floor general which is exactly what SA needs.
What do the Sacramento Kings have to do to get any respect it attention? They secured the steak of the draft and mad e a grade A pick and don’t even get a slight mention?
TJ Salaun is a steal! first he is a 3 not a 4.... it is just the fits sucks with last year's pick. Most French know that the potential of Salaun is higher than Zack Risacher... I suspect that TJ will not succeed there, but be traded and succeed somewhere else. kind of like Boris Diaw. he is great on teams that know how to play Phoenix and Spurs, but sucks on teams like the Hornets or Atlanta... I am crying for my spurs they really blew it. if you consider the uncertainty and the time value of money, they basically traded the 8th pick for nothing.... I am hoping that this is in order to save money for a top FA, but really I am not sold. As for Castle, he was the consensus pick... I hope that his shooting improves and that he actually can play PG, if not So for me the Spurs are losers!
Bucks excel with just his vision alone and i see him being a very interesting play style that will become more seen off the ball point gaurds with speed like amen
Excellent pick, can see them using Banchero as a small ball 5 with DaSilva spacing the floor at the 4. Magics next big question is whether Jalen Suggs is a PG or SG going forward. If he’s a PG then go for Klay Thompson in free agency or trade for Zach Lavine. If he’s a SG then go for D’Angelo Russell or Tyus Jones. Either way this pick enhances the Magics FO flexibility. Magic look promising and can see them being finals contenders in 2-3 years
That's certainly a take. Thunder had a great draft, and Dunn has like Zero offensive value. Dunn was basically this draft's version of Andre Roberson, and that type of player doesn't fit the Thunder's identity at all anymore. Topic was an upside pick. He was by far the best talent available at pick 12, and no, he isn't just Giddey 2.0. Topic has better handles than Giddey at the time they were drafted, and while not quite as gifted a passer, is much better at finishing at the rim than Giddey. Dillon Jones is a big, physical, tough body with good defensive instincts who was statistically one of the best rebounder for his size and position in the nation. He improved each season offensively as well. It's easy to see where he would fit on the Thunder.

Wow, so charlotte taking him at 6 isn't a bad pick if he was gonna be gone by 8.
A little early, but can't wait for you start making videos for the 2025 draft.
Love the troll clickbait thumbnail to make it look like Knecht was a Loser absolutely love it 😂😂
Bucks excel with just his vision alone and i see him being a very interesting play style that will become more seen off the ball point gaurds with speed like amen
And athletic ability to play the Aaron Gordon role
Wizards baby!!!!
Thoughts on DaSilva to Orlando?
Excellent pick, can see them using Banchero as a small ball 5 with DaSilva spacing the floor at the 4. Magics next big question is whether Jalen Suggs is a PG or SG going forward. If he’s a PG then go for Klay Thompson in free agency or trade for Zach Lavine. If he’s a SG then go for D’Angelo Russell or Tyus Jones. Either way this pick enhances the Magics FO flexibility. Magic look promising and can see them being finals contenders in 2-3 years
hornets not even trading down with the grizzlies to get salaun really lets me know what kind of front office they got there.
its ok spurs prolly wouldve snatched him
Hopefully spurs pick up Trae young for those picks
Spurs are a loser for me Castle is a good pick but they wasted the top 8 pick.
Thunder genuinely had a nightmare draft. Passing on Dunn twice is killing me.
Damn thank God u not are GM 😂
I liked Utahs draft
