Growing up in Frankfurt, Germany, Gert Taberner was exposed to English-speaking culture and eventually made the trek over to Vancouver, BC where he decided to further cultivate his musical abilities, particularly in the realm of songwriting. With his music, Taberner strives to compensate for what he feels interpersonal relationships these days lack or misinterpret: the concept of intimacy.
Heavily influenced by the likes of Damien Rice, Paul Simon and many more, his songs seek to convey yearning and hope, contrasted by a strong sense of disillusionment

​@@gerttabernermusic Thanks for the reply! I've enjoyed your song since the first time I listened to it, I think it's been over one year ago. It really got me enjoying it, captured by the deep meaning I gave to it, linked lo that person that was so special in my life back then.
Sadly, things did not work so well for us, she went her own way, after two years together. But I know that things happen for a reason, that is what I believe, and the memories we share, what she left inside of me will always remain.
I've been able to move on some months after we broke up.
