    When I lived in West Texas all the houses were cooled by this method. It works great. I hope your happy with your cooler. It looks like you are. :)

    A temp before and after would have been great. Not sold on it yet untill I see how much it actually cools

      All the yt reviewers who show temps only hold the thermometer a couple of inches away from the fan, making me think they're just trying to sell their affiliate link. I want to try one,but it would be too hard to return because of my disabilities if it didn't work. I can't put an ac in my apartment window.

    I drain mine at the end of each day and it stays clean, and have never had a smell.

    My hose leaks. cant seem to get it to stop. It was suggested to run it on very low pressure but I cant seem to get it to stop. I am glad your hose seemed to work right away.

      What hose are you having issues with. There is the hose connection on the back of the machine that has a garden hose gasket.

    I Bought one of these for my garage because I was trying to figure out how to cool my garage while I work on my car during the summer. I live in California with dry heat that could be up to 110° in the summer. I ran this one for a couple hours and only dropped 1° and made my garage completely freaking humid. I even put ice in it but try to make it cooler.

      I found this out to be true too, It won’t cool in a closed garage, you have to allow outside air in through the cooling pads and the moving air inside the garage has to go out through a vent in the wall for it to work.

    • @jeremynv89523
      @jeremynv89523 ปีที่แล้ว

      Somethings wrong. Most likely, you have inadequate ventilation.
      I had the type of Swamp cooler that you put in a window. It worked just as well as an air conditioner, even at 100F. (Reno, NV). 6:37 My only complaint is that it had to be filled with water every four or five hours.
      100% would do again.

    was hoping to see (in the video) as opposed to hear, if it has a float or not when you hook garden hose. i would think it does, just hard to find that info anywhere..

    You didn't show any real world performance i.e. before and after temperatures..

  • @DYE9
    @DYE9 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When evaporative coolers say it cools up to 10-20degrees, is that in comparison to the temperature outside or inside the home? For instance, if it’s 100 outside & 85 inside, will the EC cool the home from 100 (outside temp) to 90-80or from 85 ( in home temp) to 75-65degrees?

    • @FlashPerformance
      @FlashPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't cool like and air conditioner would, this is not something I would recommend in a home environment. It cool you in the space you are working in, but you will not notice the temperature on the thermostat come down 10-20 dgs. However it will make your work area and you feel 10-20 cooler because of the evaporative effect of the cooler. If you are looking to Cool your house I recommend this product: th-cam.com/video/d32TMzkm9os/w-d-xo.html

    How did the swamp cooler not raise the humidity and make it hotter? I'm debating on getting one of these but the reviews are so wildly contradictory. It seems only those who have affiliate links like them.

    • @FlashPerformance
      @FlashPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the doors closed it will. You have to have the doors open so the air can circulate. That keeps it from getting humid in the area you are working.

    Sorry but - 'swamp' or evaporative coolers work well in DRY climates - ie: midwest/southern States - but they do NOT WORK in temperate humid summer climates - such as southern Ontario, northern Michigan. If you try to use one, you'll get little cooling effect (low evaporation due to high ambient humidity) and the environment will become horribly damp and unhealthy. Why are so few people calling this issue out? So many 'miracle' $89 coolers / get rid of your aircon etc...NONSENSE - it doesn't work in more humid climates.

    I need something small. I see that they have this model: OEMTOOLS 23968 3-Speed Evaporative, 3100 CFM. But I have no idea about this smaller model. Any suggestions?

      Call 877-298-665, they helped me when I was looking for my unit. I have used these smaller units as well and they do a great job. Just cover less square footage.

  • @marlonestrella8105

    Can you tell me the threshold on humidity levels where this unit becomes less to not effective?

    • @realtruenorth
      @realtruenorth ปีที่แล้ว

      The more humidity the less they work. Depends on the unit, but they really need dry air to work.

    Evap coolers don't work very well in anything above 25% humidity lol

    • @FlashPerformance
      @FlashPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in the Midwest, we have Humidity over 70% all the time. This unit still works great. With high humidity you just want to make sure you are not in a closed room or it will get muggy fast. Thanks for watching

      Not true , there’s pretty interesting charts about humidity and air temps. Google it .

      Bro, I live in Socal, I used my temp gun to shoot the temps in my garage... THE FUCKING CEILING WAS READING 138°f! the walls were 125°f! it's down right unbearable, idk how the fuck i changed my cars clutch in that garage last year, this year i just can't hack it, it's too hot in there for me, maybe it's because i got fat over last year lol. i think i'm gonna get one of these coolers and try it it, if not fk it i'll take it back lol.

      @@imbrandon16 get an insulated garage door. Totally worth the money. My old door fell apart but during the summer I remember it being too hot to touch. I upgraded to a triple layer door and It's 113 outside but only 88 in my garage. Add in a swamp cooler with the door cracked open and I could work on my truck all day with no complaints

    how can I replace the water pump?

    • @FlashPerformance
      @FlashPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea, but I am sure if you look in the instruction manual you will see that it is located in the bottom of the tank and you would most likley need to remove the fan to get to it. The unit is pretty simple I am sure it is not complicated
