There was actually a saw mill on the island so there is likely to be plenty of cut timber buried and lying around. All the nonsense about Roman crossbow bolts, etc have been found to be logging tools by 'real' experts.

6 YEARS without any earth shattering discoveries. It took us 9 YEARS to get to the moon. And we did it 6 times. So for every year they dug we went back and forth to the moon

When that episode of when they drilled through bedrock finding a large cavern under and inside the bedrock,,,,, that cavern was carved out/made long time ago. They brought in some divers to look. Those guys weren't honest. Also that cavern wasn't flooded until drilling occured. There were two locations of treasure. The biggest and most important was the cavern. Tommy Becker's comment

These episodes are all over the place and not sequential. I have hope but I also feel sorry for these guys. Treasure hunters sometimes look 10 to 15 years for ship wrecks before finding them.

I believe most of this intriguing information is correct. I never knew that there was ever a shaft named s6. S must stand for shaft. Speaking of shafts the abandoned shaft 9 has been rediscovered about a week ago! They are really onto something now!
All the stuff they are finding is from past expeditions trying to find the same treasure that is not there. Season 20 and there will still be no gold or treasure.
@ The Dude - The REAL treasure is how much $$$$ the History Channel is making through companies paying for advertising on this TV show. It's always about the $$$$. And I don't mean Treasure either. Advertising Dollars. I wonder how much $$$$ Rick, Marty and the gang make an episode? You KNOW they're getting paid for each episode! Completely with you on that one! There is now a thought of there once being a second slipway on the southwestern area of the island because about a week ago Gary discovered evidence of construction activity when he found a huge spike from the same time period of when the smiths cove slipway was constructed. Another item that backs up this thought is a 1700s decking nail that was used to anchor down the side wooden panels that make up the hull of the vessel and to hold down the planks that make up the decks on the ship.

They did the wrong test. There is a very quick way to completely determine the location of the flood tunnels, in a very short time.

Why go through the trouble to hide the treasure and not dig it up later. Maybe they buried the treasure and killed everyone who knew where it was and then later reclaimed it after everyone was killed and now there just chasing legends that would really sucks

Serious question, no insult intended....why does anyone watch this series? I watched two episodes around the time it first aired (no idea when that was), and then a couple more a year or two later to see if anything had changed. Finally (I am slow) realized nothing is ever going to be found. No matter how dramatic the ads try to be (laughable), everyone knows that NOTHING is ever going to be found in the cave, the well, the tunnel, the river, under the tree, in the cemetary... whatever. Thus....why does anyone watch this show more than 2-3x, tops.

Fred dug out an old waterfall on gold rush next to a river that was pouring water in! Even if they removed the first 50-75ft it should become pretty obvious where the ‘money pitt’ is!

I think they know nothing is there but want the publicity. I've read one they can do some kind of scan over the entire island and it would tell them if theres anything significant/ places to look but they refuse to do it

there was another gold recovery show and they used this method to find the cave in which the gold is recovered n it worked well! im bored of oak island, interesting story but, ive tried so hard to be interested still, but lumps of wood don't interest me or anyone else really, unless your making raised flower beds from all the timber lol

Do you mean the flood tunnel system? If so I would say a few hundred men and probably took over 50 years because of how many were built.

There is no doubt there will be plenty of timber scattered around. There was a sawmill on the island with plenty of timber being shipped in to be cut. The rubbish about Roman crossbow bolts being found have been identified as logging tools by 'real' experts.
