The bow and stern sections are now well separated. This shows how the ravages of nature have affected her during the years she has been on the rocks. Sad to see, but inevitable. Great footage .
I thought I'd read that a salvage crew were going to cut up MV Alta for scrap, but I must be mistaken. It's now starting to remind me of MV Plassy, the "Father Ted Ship" that ran aground on Inisheer in 1960. The Plassy is still rotting away, but I'd guess that the Alta is in a more precarious position than the Plassy and won't last as long
So much for security if this boat was able to drift across the Atlantic ocean and end in the rocks in Cork. You can imagine what is going through our waters +
She was probably sent as a test run or decoy to see how good coastal security is for drug/weapons smuggling. Obviously its a reflection of how good the security is. It drifted for months without being noticed.
Hardly, the dogs in the street know we have zero defensive capabilities. It took Irish fishing trawlers to scare away the Ruskies last time , and they're back again next week
The footage is superb, very interesting and impressive

@@dronehawk they probably never went away, they could be under the surface. a few trawlers wouldnt keep those boys up at night.
I expect the front section to rollover very soon then it will get smashed real good 👍🇦🇺
That's exactly what I reckon will happen this winter
Did it break in half or has been started to cut up ?
Gradually broke up , but the rear section was moved away from the wheel house section during storm Anges in September Last year
@@dronehawk thanks 👍
