The first Kiss album I ever heard was Kiss Alive. It's still one of my favorites from Kiss! What was the first Kiss album you heard?
Same here!!
@@tomflynn2912 Awesome!!
Alive. still have my 76 and 77 ticket stubs and pics
@@davedavid7061 Wow, that’s awesome!! Would have loved to see those tours.
Once I heard this album, and in particular the opener with "Deuce", that was it for me. I now knew what hard rock was and how it should sound. But Cold Gin remains my favorite from that record. Love the bridge part too.
One of my favorite kiss songs is, I was made for lovin you, it always sounds so good
Awesome!
Not technically a "Kiss" album but a great album with a perfect production. I can put that album on and listen to it from start to finish. I have a hard time doing that on other Kiss albums. However, Kiss "Alive" from 1975 was a masterpiece recording. All Killer and no filler.
Great lesson. Good details.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Rick, I agree, Kiss was a riff machine for some years. I got to see them Live 1975 alive tour and 1976 Destroyer tour! What awesome shows!!
So sorry I missed your comment, Tom!Wow, so cool you saw them on the Alive and Destroyer tours!!! 😮
I got the riff!!!.Im so happy!!❤❤❤❤
Awesome!!! 😊
Congratulations on the video, I finally managed to learn, hugs from Brazil
Obrigado! 😊 That's awesome that you learned the riff!
Wow! Best Kiss instructional video yet! Thank you!
Oh man, thanks so much! 😊 You’re welcome!
Nice guitar sound...
Thanks!
Wonderful, thorough lesson! Really appreciate how you break the song, H/O, P/O, and point out the small but unique details Ace and Paul do when they play!
Awesome! Glad to hear that you like those details, Aimee!
Great job! Even I could understand it lol. Thanks dude! This was Aces contribution for their 1st LP.
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it was cool that this was Ace's contribution to the first Kiss album!
About a week ago I found "Cold Gin live Ace Sings Verse" on TH-cam, and its easily one of the best live versions of any song I've ever heard. (Paul gives an awesome intro and PSA, lol.) ;}
That’s awesome! I’ll have to do a search and see if I can find it! Gotta love Paul’s onstage banter! 😁
Great lesson thank you 😎🎸
You’re welcome. Glad you liked it! 😎
This is a great lesson 👍 thank you 🎸
You’re welcome, Blaze. Thanks for checking out my channel! 🎸🤘🏻
This is a classic tune and this video deserves more views! Thanks for the lesson.
Thanks, Matt! Yes, it is such classic!
Really good mate! Thanks
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
Great lesson!
Understood it completely!
Nice "disclaimer" with the tendonitis........I still get it!
Thanks, I’m glad you liked the lesson! Sorry to hear about your tendinitis. It’s definitely frustrating!
Thanks dude!
You’re welcome! Thanks for checking out the video!
Mine was KISS ‘Revenge’
and it was the song “Domino” that made me look into their music!
Such good simple riffage!
Thanks for this tutorial!
Very cool! Indeed, some of the best riffs are simple! You’re welcome!
I'd add Dodger Stadium since I was there and much of it is on youtube:) I think most of us kids from the 70's that picked up a guitar owe Ace a thanks. The show drew us in, but the music was solid.
Awesome! I’ll have to check out that show, too. Cool you were there, Brian! 😎 Good point about Ace!
I grew up on K I⚡️⚡️ too!
Nice job on the lesson. Subscribed
Awesome, CC! I’m glad you liked the lesson. Thanks so much for subscribing! 🤘🏻
Hi, I'm a big Ace fan. Great lesson! I like the way you show how Ace plays the song (as he wrote it, right!)
Hi Tom, Thanks so much! Glad you like the lesson!
Was waiting for you to play through the whole song lol
Ah, sorry, lol. I have tried making the videos in different ways over the months. Sometimes planning out how I would do it, and sometimes winging it. 😁 I hope you still got something out of the lesson!
@@RickStack oh man. I totally did. You explain things great. Break it down to the T. I was just waiting for you to play it at the end lol. All good brother. Keep teaching!!!!
@@Whereyouatyo Cool! Glad you dig the lessons!! 😎
What amp and effects you using
19:19 Great lesson 👍 Anymore kiss tutorial videos?
Thanks! That would be cool. I’ll have to start thinking of other songs. 🤘🏻
What guitar and pickups are they there killer
Thanks! 😊 Lollar High Wind Imperial pickups, and the guitar is a Campbell American- Fuzix model. I’ve had four guitars built by the same builder out in New England. He stopped making guitars now though. I found them from somebody that I’ve studied with who is a professor at Berklee College of music in Boston. David Fiuczynski. Not to get too far off topic, lol, but check him out. He plays a double neck guitar often and the tap neck is fretless. Amazing player!!
How did you tune the guitar
Just standard tuning for all my videos. I realize many groups tune down 1/2 step on the original recording.
16:14 Ace Frehley part
Noice 1 Coily AWK! \m/
Are you in E standard
Yes, I’m in standard tuning. All my videos are in standard tuning mainly because that’s what I prefer, but also because I teach private guitar lessons multiple days a week and that’s what I’m tune to. I realize that there are a lot of songs that are tuned down 1/2 a step, etc.
Go down a half step
Thanks. I can understand that request. I teach many days a week, doing private one on one lessons and I am always in standard tuning (unless demonstrating half step down tuning), so it just works for me to keep as standard thing in all my teaching. Hope it wasn't too much of a bother.
Silly Ace…thought he was innovative by using the A string.
Indeed! Gotta love the A string. 😁
Doesn't sound right need a Les Paul to get right sounds
A Les Paul would be great on this song! I don’t own one, otherwise I would’ve played it for the lesson.
that guitar is mahogany with humbuckers, a LP won't sound much different at all.... I have 4 Les Pauls and have owned a bunch of super strats, been playing since the 70's
