Hi Teacher’s, I really enjoy watching your videos. Really helping me for my study. I remember when I use to live in Philippines in the big City we’re I work. I just renting a one bed room apartment with kitchen, living room, bathroom in a condominium. It’s a fully furnished. So I don’t need to buy anything to put in . My room is located in 19th floor. It’s absolutely the same requirements in Philippines that you need to pay a one month deposit and advance as well. So you will get your deposit back after the final inventory after you move out in a month or so. The apartment is look old and but renting a new one is more expensive. So I just grab the old apartment just for myself.
Hi Iyn, we're so glad you enjoy the lessons. Thanks for sharing. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...when I used to live in...' not, 'use'. 2) Are you talking about the past or present? If it's the present don't use 'I remember when'. That is a phrase used to talk about a past event. 3) '...big city where I work,' not, '... big City we’re I work'. Hope this is useful for you!
We normally pay two months of deposits and one month of rent when we are signing the contract and we need to pay half rent to the estate agent if the house is not rented by the house owner but by the estate agent, it's common for doing the inventory before moving in and out, the rule of cleaning part is same as in Taiwan as well
Hi, you guys really prepared a wonderful video on conversation while we head for renting a property... Amazing it would definitely help me a lot... Kindly think of making your video more lively by using more and more symbols.. Thank you❤

Hello teachers, this is vidhya from India. I regularly watch your video. Really it's amazing and useful. Can I join in your online course. Please reply me 😊. I'm waiting eagerly. Thank you..
In my country, You have rent a apartment at least 3 months lease. You need to provide NRC copy, passport copy or current landlord's reference. You need to pay 1 month deposit but you can get it back before you move out from your apartment or house. If anything is damaged before you move out, you have to pay the same amount of the property.
Great, Zunthu. Thanks for sharing. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...you have to rent an apartment...' not, '...You have rent a apartment...' 2) '...with a minimum 3-month lease,' not, '...at least 3 months lease...' 3) 'You need to provide a copy of your NPR, passport...' not, 'You need to provide NRC copy, passport copy...' Hope this helps you!
Good suggestion! We might be able to do something on this topic in the future. However, we do have some lessons on meetings with phrases to help you in a virtual or in-person meeting: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/attending-business-meeting, www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/chairing-business-meeting.
Thank you so much for the lesson! It is very useful and thoroughly prepared. Can I ask you to help me check the pronunciation of the word 'inventory' used by the lady? Is it correct?
Glad you liked the lesson, Andrew! Yes, her pronunciation is correct. You might have noticed a difference between her pronunciation and Daniel's pronunciation. This is a difference between the American and British pronunciation of the word.
British & American people have multiple opportunities that other world doesn't have .Jobs are made through their language while all of us spend our time on learning English.
I often rent a house or an apartment via either flyers or estate agent. After asking some necessary information, I will look around the property to decide whether I move in or not. In my country, before moving into a new place, we need to pay rental deposit and one month's rent. During my tenancy, I can redecorate the place if I want to as long as I don't significantly change the appearance of the house. However, I don't need to provide any references. I can also get the deposit back or not depends on landlords. Before I leave, I must clean the property thoroughly and make sure that everything is spotless. If the landlord find something is dirty or damaged, I won't get the full amount of my deposit back.
Thanks for sharing your great response. Here are some corrections for you: 1) 'After getting some necessary information...' not, 'asking.' 2) '...whether I'll move in or not,' not, 'I.' 3) '...pay a rental deposit...' not, '...pay rental deposit...' Hope this is useful for you!
i rented an apartment several times in several places ago. let me started with zhuhai first. i did not call the estate agent directly but walked around the area for my preference. they were some ads outside their house. and it left number on it. so you could ring them. the first one was smooth at the very beginning. you would need the following. checked out the apartment. for my case, i just wanted a bedroom with bathroom. these were the basic requirements. then, i usually would sign a lease with at least 12 months. 2 months rent for deposit, one month rent, your ID. then you just signed the contrat. they did not have a formal inventory. you got the key. i needed to pay my water and electricity bill also. they were not covered by your rent. i only got one month rent back for the deposit as i broke the contract. the reason was that i got hurt during the typhoon. the house was kind of damaged. i felt unsafe. this was an unpleasant experience.
Thank you for watching and sharing your response. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) 'I've rented many different apartments in several places,' not, 'i rented an apartment several times in several places ago'. 2) 'Let me start with...' not, 'started'. 3) Capitalize proper nouns and the first letter of each sentence: 'I, Zhuhai, They were some ads..., etc'. Hope this is useful for you!

I have a question to make of you. Can the owner of the flat say, I rented my flat meaning to say that the owner has given his /her flat for rent to someone ?
Good question, Rama. A common phrase for this situation is 'rent out'. For example: 'I'm renting out my flat while I'm away'. In real estate terms, this can also be called a 'sublease'.
Thank you very much for your reply and answer to my question. 👌👏👏👏👍.
