Hey Trevor and Damien, Another top course review. One of my favourite courses, always enjoy playing there. Great views, challenging holes, great variety. During summer the mozzies are pretty bad on some holes. Never played there during winter but the course looked in great condition. Love your work. Cheers, Joe
Oh yes I love a links course . Played nearly all the Open Courses in 2 trips 87 & 05. Favourite, Royal Birkdale, hardest , Royal Lytham &St Anne’s. I amazed myself at Carnoustie, at 60 years of age I shot 78. In 87 2 games at St Andrews 78-80. Putted my head off at Royal Liverpool and went out under the card at Troon…9 holes downwind. Played both courses at Turnberry.
@@TredamGolf yes I’ve been very fortunate in my golfing life. In 1987 in the UK the greenfees ranged from 16 £ at St. Andrews to 25£ at Turnberry. In 2005 nothing under 100£ up to 150£
@@TredamGolf played in the US as well. Twice on the Monterey peninsula. Played Pebble Beach at 4pm with an American guy. He pointed out the houses on the back 9 movies stars had lived in. For me the best hole in the world is the par 4 8th. Uphill off the tee lay up to a sheer drop to the ocean then downhill to the green. My second shot, a 4 iron over the cliff to the back of the green and 2 putts…it was about 1998, I remember the round so clearly. It got dark on the 16th. Green, the marshal came up and said we had to stop…we didn’t…I parred the last 2 holes in the dark… The most trilling round of golf I’ve ever played.
only 20 minutes from me, so have played it a few times. Needs rain though, no water storages on the island and they don't water fairways. Can be very average when you get a few dry months. When it's good, it's very good though.
@@TredamGolf also, my picks for great courses. You may have already done them, but my all time favourite is Pambula Merimbula. 27 holes of golfing heaven. Tura Beach, Narooma and a few others up there pretty good too. Buninyong great in summer and great deals on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Hepburn Springs though is bloody amazing. Pretty short, but very tight and challenging. Bloody tough walk too!
