Jessica Kellgren-Fozard hi, I absolutely love Christmas 🎄 (obsessed I would say) we had been apart at our each set of parents for Christmas and we came back together for our own mini Christmas and we gave each other our presents, we had done stockings for each other so I was opening mine and I got the sex in the city dvd and some other cute bits and reach down to the bottom excepting a satsuma and pulled out a green leather box and I was like is this what I think it is? He told me to close my eyes and he had got down on one knee and opened the box! Obviously I said yes with lots of happy tears and then we hugged and kissed! We then called family and friends shortly after! It was perfect for me!
We met when I called a local newspaper and he answered the phone and he wrote the story on my sponsored trek in Cambodia for Macmillan! We then kept bumping into each other when I had joined the police! We then became a couple after going to a party and I was dressed as a cheer leader! 😉 been married 7 years this year and together for 10! At 10 years, I want to renew our vowels in Scotland with just our close family! (I’m Scottish on my late Dads side)

I recently blogged about my proposal. My then-boyfriend, now-fiance and almost-husband proposed on my birthday, but I was so caught up in my birthday that I missed all the obvious clues! skippingconvention.com/2017/11/28/birthday-proposal/

My ex boyfriend and his now wife have one if the most fun engagement stories....
One Halloween he set up the camera by the pumpkin they were about to carve. He cut the top and asked her to get a tray or something for all the 'guts'. While she was turned away he hid a film container inside the pumpkin. He asked her to go ahead and scoop out all the guts and she found something lumpy, which she set aside haphazardly. He asked her...what's that? She picked the container up and was puzzled...How could this film container be in the pumpkin? He asked her to open it! She did! For the next few seconds was speechless, then went into hysterics with excitement! He had hidden the ring inside the container!
They have been married a while now, have 3 wonderful, smart children and are living in Vermont USA.

I was always proposing to my girlfriend but as same sex marriage wasn’t legal in Australia we decided not to get married until it was, fast forward to 2017 and it becomes apparent that it will be legal, and then it suddenly was! The day it became legal I said to my gf, ‘I suppose we should get married now, what do you reckon?’ Ha ha! 9th February was the day, 30 years after we first met, legally married, blissfully happy.❤️

My husband proposed to me in a restaurant called 'That's Amore', and it was so loud in there that I didn't hear him correctly, and thought he said he wanted to break up with me. I ran to the bathroom in tears. When I got back to the table, he said 'Is that no?'. I said 'no, what?, He replied 'I'm trying to ask you to marry me!', and I started to cry again, ran back to the bathroom to blow my nose, ran back to the table and said 'Yes!!!'. The couple next to us were laughing at me. It's been 23 years that we've been together, married since 2012.
    I feel so very lucky!

My fiance proposed to me in the MOST perfect way. He was visiting me for the weekend and decided we should watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy (my absolute favorite). Well, during the scene where Arwen gives up her immortality in order to be with Aragorn, he pulled out my ring and quoted the movie and I was just happy laugh crying. I couldn't ask for a more personally perfect proposal.

As for how we started dating, we had become friends in an online group, and he sometimes came to visit me. We both had feelings for each other, but I really didn't want to date long distance. So we were in the car together one day (about 4 years ago) and I just turned to him and said "f*** it, let's date." And he replied, "I suppose." And we've been together since

I’ll share a story of one I was apart of since I’m single. My two best friends are a couple. He asked me to help him plan his proposal to her. We disguised it as my 25th birthday party and made it the theme of our mutual favorite video game (mine and hers to keep up the distraction). It was a costume party and everyone dressed up. The entire backyard was decorated to fit the theme! He started what seemed like a birthday toast and passed out ring pops and then the speech changed direction and he proposed. We even had a speech option poster (it was themed around a Bioware game) that she could choose from. She was completely surprised which was a miracle because she KNOWS when someone is trying to surprise her and he and I also cannot lie to save our lives. They’re fabulous and a wonderful couple!

You know the proposal scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, where they're lying in bed cuddling, it's all quiet and Ian says "marry me"? That's how I wanna be proposed to. Private and intimate and quiet and just for the two of us to know.

Mine is not very eventful...I met my husband in high school. When we were 19 years old we were driving in our car and he asks me if we should get married. I said sure lets do it lol. A few weeks later we went to the courthouse and got married. 15 years later we are still going strong and our love grows stronger and stronger as each year passes. He is the love of my life!! :)

My now-husband and I took a trip to Catalina Island for a late his-birthday celebration and valentine's day celebration. Our plan had been to come in on the catamarand, check into our hotel, take a short nap and then hike up a small hill where we were told had a beautiful sunset! Instead we both napped for too long and it was sun down by the time we woke up! We missed sunset! I later learned that he had planned to read a poem and propose up on that hill at sunset! Oops! Instead we wandered around downtown Avalon and got silly drinks and hats at the tiki bar near the shore. Buzzed, we wandered out to a spot near a lovely fountain that overlooked the ocean. He said "Well, I guess now is as good of time as any" and got down on one knee! I was so happy! It was pretty perfect. Maybe not as picturesque as the sunset would have been, but the whole thing was so sweet and silly, it fit us perfectly.

I'm as single as they come, but I love my parent's story. My dad had moved out of state about a month prior to the engagement because of the military. She was in North Dakota, he was in California. He'd call her every weekend, then she'd make it to about Wednesday before she had to call him. During one of his weekend calls, he was apparently sick and just said "so you wanna get married?" To which she replied "you betcha." (I just realized how much better this story sounds when "you betcha" can be said with the appropriate accent...) The were married after only knowing each other for 9 months, and will be celebrating 39 years in March

Oooh, I also have our proposal story to share with you! :) Sorry for my not so perfect English, that's clearly not my native language.
I was at home, at my mom's place for the weekend after our 5th anniversary with my boyfriend. I was really sick, wearing a pretty old T-shirt (no bra) and sweatpants (no underwear), I was doing my statistics homework for uni. So I was not in my prettiest moment to be honest. My boyfriend asked me on FB whether to pack me some Hortobágyi húsos palacsinta (pancakes with paprika and chicken - Hungarian dish), which I looove so much. Of couse I said yes, and I was also joking about it being transported via light and opening my windows (an old Hungarian cartoon reference - Mézga Family). This basically means that in that cartoon a family got to get a huge amount of things from the future which were maybe useful for the people from the future, but the family was f.cking up really badly while using them... :D
After some hours he wrote me on FB Messenger again that the pancakes are here, seriously. I was just laughing for a little bit, but after that I realised that maybe I need to go to my room. He was at my window, with a huge bunch of roses AND a box filled with the pancakes I was describing (he was living 90 kms away from me, but on the weekdays we were already living together in the capital city). I didn't even realise that there was a ring box between the roses until he pointed out to me.
I opened the box, smiled, did not say a thing.
He: - Well, one should answer a question which was asked.
Me: - There was no question asked to be answered.
After that, he proposed to me. :)
We also got to ate the pancakes - it will also be a dish on our wedding this year, on our 6th anniversary (13rd of October, 2018).

My partner and I have been in a long distance relationship for 3 years. We had to continue the LDR for another 3 years to pursue our personal dreams. Despite my partner knowing this (and my doubts), he proposed to me on 1 jan 2018 at the blue mountains surrounded by nature. Last week, i proposed to reaffirm my commitment to him.

That is so sweet! I love the 'book' story! We were lying on the bed talking about the future, 7 months together, and we had known from a couple of weeks in we wanted to marry but I mentioned I didn't care about a ring I just wanted the life together which was greeted with 'so do you wanna get married or what?' One of those are you asking me moments. I started squealing and said we need a ring 😂 we got a small ring with diamond chips just to show that we were engaged but 14 years later (last month) i was taken in to the jewellers to look at something and the jeweller asked me for my ring and walked out with the most beautiful diamond. I started welling up and was asked would I like to have my ring reset with 'proper' sized diamonds, I was flabbergasted - it was like being proposed to, I was so giddy. Still waiting on my ring coming back and miss it so much. We are now 12 years married and much as it isn't always smooth I would never want to be married to anyone else!

So, I'm two months late to this party, but I've been binge watching your videos (because you are so adorable and I love your humor so much!) and on a previous video you mentioned being an X-Men/Rogue fan, so.. yeah. here's mine.
My husband and I had been dating for 7 years, which is weird because we knew within 24 hours of knowing each other that we were going to get married. Anyhoo, my 30th birthday was approaching and I am a HUGE super hero fan, particularly X-Men and particularly, particularly Rogue! Super obsessed with her since I was 6 and watched her pull a Sentinel's head off with her bare hands in the 90s cartoon. The obsession is ridiculous.
For my birthday, I wanted to have a super hero themed party at the club we frequent. I special ordered a custom made latex Rogue dress (because, of course I was going to be Rogue. Who else would I be?). I thought my husband would be Optimus Prime because that's his favorite character but he surprised me and actually dressed up like Gambit. (shoulda been a clue). All of our friends came out and my parents showed up (should have been another clue). All night he was talking about the great surprise he had for me. I think he was too excited about it so he slipped up and had to cover it up. He made it seem like there was going to be a "fight" with all the super heroes and super villains there. I figure he had choreographed something to make me feel like a real X-man. (not going to lie, still a little sad there wasn't).
Well, midnight comes around. My favorite song is playing... and someone randomly (and awkwardly) yells "Oh no! It's the X-Men! We gotta fight!" (which is the BEST way to start a super hero fight, in my opinion.)
He turns to me and says "There's too many of them! The only way we'll win is if we do it... together!" and he got on one knee and pulled out the ring and I ugly cried. He never actually asked me to marry him, funny enough. I just sobbed and nodded until he put the ring on me.

My girlfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now (our anniversary is in May), but I've proposed 114 times (I started even before we were official haha). We're two years apart, and she's still underage, so it's not so serious, more like a question of if she'd consider spending our lives together. She always just smiles and says, "Not yet". She's written down every single time I've done it, and I'm kind of patching them all together into my grand plan for the big, final proposal, the one I hope she'll finally accept

I'm from Canada so European holiday is quite a big trip for us. We had our 5 year anniversary October of 2016 and we had booked a trip to Paris. It was my first time to Europe. Our plane landed at noon and we took a train to our Airbnb which was absolutely gorgeous by the way. Because our flight was delayed the person who owned the Airbnb couldn't meet us on time so we went to the cafe on the corner, the most stereotypically Parisian Cafe where I had the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. We got into our room and my now-husband said he was going to have a shower. He was rummaging in his bag, I just assumed he was getting his toiletries, he was not! LOL he turned around on one knee and asked me to marry him, of course after 5 years the answer was absolutely! I keep joking that he didn't even let me shower first, he had had that ring for 7 months and he didn't want to wait another minute. We waited till the next day to tell everyone, which is when I realized that he had told basically everyone in our life that he was going to propose LOL there weren't a lot of people to tell, it's so cute, he was so excited. We stayed in our engagement bubble for two whole weeks before we came home. We got married on December 2nd 2017 and took our honeymoon in Bavaria.

I have yet to get a ring, but my boyfriend and I are basically married (like we've discussed it, it's just not the right time for us). Our first date story is the only strong memory I have. My boyfriend is a large man with long dark hair and a wild beard. He looks like the kind of person you would consider crossing the street when you see, but he's a total sweet heart. When he first took me out it wasn't anything special, just a trip to a mid-level chain restaurant. I didn't think it was a date at first, and figured if I got a big messy burger it'd be my way of defiantly stating it wasn't a date. It was. It definitely was. Our story is nothing grandiose or romantic, but it's fitting for us. We don't even know when exactly we first started dating, but we know it was February. This marks three years of being together and I love my big, hairy man :)

Oh I absolutely adore you two ! 🥰🥰🥰..... I’m SO glad I found your channel !!!! You are just so sweet and loving together! I always feel a sense of calm and happiness when watching your videos ! My husband proposed to me while on a vacation together in Maui, HI . We were watching the sunset at our condo which was located just about 40 feet from the ocean ! Our little lanai (patio) was overlooking the west side of Maui and the island of Molokai was directly in front of us .... and we could just barely see the Island of Lanai as we looked to the South, and in between these two islands would be the most fantastic pink, orange and yellow sunsets every night. We sat at the sea wall one night having a drink before dinner when he popped the question and placed a beautiful yet simple single diamond 💍 ring on my finger ! It was just us, very private and romantic. I remember the trade winds were so warm and balmy. We then went to our favorite restaurant and had the the perfect dinner! Just us two! 🤗🥰💍🌺🌴🌈❤️ 🥂🏝🐠

My husband took me to Paris and proposed ( just before the evening closing) at the top of the Eiffel Tower on Valentine's Day ❤️. He was terrified of the travel up in the lift. It was windy and dark and we were goofy young 'uns. We really enjoyed seeing Paris that weekend, we were also on Radio One's valentines stories that year. 21 years on and life has thrown a lot at us but we are still here. It's not easy, but having love and dedication is vital.

I know I'm very late to the party but sharing is so fun! we met during my last quarter of school, decided it would be a casual thing with an expiration date because I was leaving for military training (but got sick and had to leave after 5 months), but we kinda accidentally fell in love over the course of the month and decided to just keep up with it while I was away (I wrote to them every single day and copied down excerpts from their letters to carry in my pocket). they let me move into their little basement studio apartment when I had to quit training, no questions asked. I'd always been more interested in marriage than them (my parents had divorced and remarried; theirs have stayed unhappily together), but we'd been working through things in therapy together and one day after an appointment they suddenly ask how I feel about a long engagement.
a month later they came out to me as nonbinary and they were just. so full of happiness and they felt so much more present to me and stuff, I wanted to wait until a day they had class to go meet them under a tree they were fond of but I ended up proposing on our own porch that same weekend because they had just become even more themself and I needed them to know exactly how much of a fan I was. I had a little speech and everything, and they'd already picked out their own ring the week before, although I did fail to say the actual important words when I knelt down XD they didn't actually know why I'd dragged them out to the porch and started asking funny relationship-spanning questions until I pulled out the ring box.
a couple weeks after that we agreed to meet up when I was done with work although they got there way early and wandered the market without me, they said they wanted to go to the aquarium (my favorite place) but it was about to close so we just went to the bookstore instead because I wanted to pick something up anyway. I had told my best friend that morning I kind of hoped they would propose but it would be nice to just get to hang out with them, too, because they'd been busy with school. they started acting very nervous and shifty when we got to the store, and they were clearly up to something but I offered to pretend not to notice and they sheepishly agreed. they had found a book of interesting houses and wanted to show me one, and then they revealed they'd been hiding a ring in the book the whole time XD they didn't say a single word, just knelt down in the bookshop and looked up at me. I'd shown them lots of ideas of rings I like and they picked out a lovely one from the market while they were waiting for me, even when I feel too ill to change out of my pajamas I make sure to put it on every morning.
we've been together almost four years and I still look at them and get kind of kindergarten smitten from time to time, staring and smiling and "hey I like you wow"

We were 'engaged' before we were engaged, not wanting to have well-intentioned people pull our wedding in a million different directions we started planning it and deciding what we did and didn't really care about before anything was announced.
We're both crafters so he made the ring. I picked out the wood and color of the crushed opal inlay and he turned it on the lathe and it is the prettiest thing in the world to me. He finished the ring while I was working one day and when I got home he got all shy and awkward about it even though we'd literally been planning the wedding for months at this point and he put the ring in a lovely little ring box he found and just...slid it across the desk. It was so adorable and dorky and I just said "of course yes you goof" and kissed him. Love him so much

Ok, long story! My partner and i have been together since 2005, and three years into our relationship we mutually decided that when gay marriage was legal in Australia, we would be engaged. She didn’t really fancy the idea of being married but for me she’d make an exception. Fast forward to 2017 September, we went on holidays to japan for her birthday, went to a beautiful place, wakakusa mountain in Nara. She woke me up on a sunday at 6:30am without coffee and we tiredly trekked up to the top. What i didnt know was that in her luggage she had smuggled a ring, with the purpose of giving it to me at the top. So, surrounded by chirping cicadas and dragonflies, and a beautiful autumn morning on a mountain my partner brought out a tiny box with a ring that made me burst out in tears. We married 2 weeks ago :)

My husband introduced me to house/electronic music when we met. We met some of our best friends at my first rave. He's really not one for planning so this meant the world that he went through so much trouble: His parents gave him a ring his dad had had for years to turn into my engagement ring and he got a Daft Punk mask to dress up for a rave we were going to attend for Halloween with those same friends (also the day we met three years before). He had programed led lights to flash in the visor of the mask "will you marry me?" since it'd be too loud at the concert to hear and had one of our friends take pictures when he go down on one knee. I kinda knew it was coming but was still surprised! Everyone around us was congratulating us and took pictures! It was like coming full circle! We met dress up (kick ass and one of the Siamese cats from Lady & the Tramp) and got engaged dressed up (I was the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland)!

It was right after a lovely Xmas & we were in bed talking about how happy we were & how well we get along, how easy it was for the three of us to just be ourselves, we don't argue, or fight, it seemed so perfect & we all decided to sleep in it and in the morning we would each write out the perfect gift we each wanted for NEXT Xmas. So we all got up, it was a lovely snowy day, we sat down for breakfast & by the end we all had a folded note that we placed in the center piece & at dinner we would each open them up at the same time.
When dinner came, we all opened up out notes & we had each said we should get married & be together for ever. We all laughed cause it was exactly the same thing and then it kind of hit us, do we reallly mean it & we kind of all said, YEAH!
I said I love you both so much & both Mag & Sarah were saying the same thing to me. (I'm deaf, so I found myself reading them both saying what I was saying aloud) We all laughed & then it was officail, we're going to get married, and WE DID. Although, its not legal for us as a Triad to be married (you can't marry a third person) we did the whole thing anyway, screw the system.
    NEVER been happier.

    I love your proposal story.
    Here's our story:
My husband and I met on a dating app. He messaged me first. I wasn't going to respond because I was kind of over dating. Later that day, it bothered me that I hadn't responded, so I did. That was a Friday. We went on our first date the following Tuesday. After that date, I told a close friend that I wouldn't say I was going to marry him yet but he was going to be very important in my life. He "proposed" a month later. We were just hanging out watching TV. He goes "do you want to get married?" To which I replied "to you or in general". We called off our engagement at one point but did not break up. We just wanted to work through some issues without the pressure of planning a wedding. Christmas morning in 2014, he hung a new ring on my stocking and asked me again over coffee and cookies. We have been married almost 3 years now.

My now finance and I had met in college. We have been together for 4 years, and over holiday he proposed on christmas eve which we spent at his parent's house. We had just finished opening gifts and we were all just sitting around on the couch when Mike (my fiancé) announced he had something special to share. I immediatly turn to him and start crying. He pulls out the box with the ring and opens it, and before he even asks me his grandma says, "Well, are you going to say yes?!?", Lol so then he says, "Will you marry me?" And i'm crying and in this high pitched voice say "yes!" He opens the box with the ring, and I say thank you. The most special part about it was the fact that he made not only the box the ring came it, but he also MADE my engagement ring. No, he's not a jeweler, but he is a welder, and just is a super crafty and talented person. :)

I met my husband while we were cleaning stalls in a stable. Yep, scooping poop. I was a young dressage rider doing a placement at the barn where he was a stablehand, he had grown up learning to ride there. Our proposal wasn't extremely cute, we're kind of low-key people, we loved going for drives and so we went on a drive, and he proposed while parked under some street lights with a photo of the ring he had designed from scratch for me. He wanted me to approve the design, and to choose the metal I wanted it out of. He's an engineer, and so having a ring he designed means a lot to me, from building bridges and dams to designing a small little ring. It's also custom made to suit my lifestyle, and so that makes it extremely special to me. My wedding band is custom made as well to fit into my engagement ring like a puzzle piece, so he designed both of them, and it was a really fun experience to do that together.

My husband and I decided to get married when we were 16/17, my ring was a pewter ankh (symbol of eternity) and he had a matching one. We'd been going out for 3 months. There wasn't ever a proposal we just knew. We were engaged for 8 years before we got married and have now been together 22 years. ☺️ Because we were just kids I never had a 'proper' engagement ring but I never needed one. Then for our 10th wedding anniversary he surprised me with a visit to our favourite BnB in the middle of nowhere. He 'proposed' to me outside under the most incredible sky and gave me my dream vintage 1950s ring. When I'd stopped crying we opened a bottle of champagne and I said "wouldn't it be amazing if there was a shooting star" and just as the words left my mouth one shot across the sky. 💗

I love luminaries (the brown bags that you put sand in with a candle) and had this elaborate idea in my mind that I wanted to hike up a mountain and have there be luminaries on the path. But probably my favorite story is my dad’s friend who proposed to his wife in a Dairy Queen because he picked a proposal spot on a road trip and lost his nerve and drive past! He had to propose that day though (in his mind) because he’d set up an engagement party at the end of the road trip. So he pulled over into a Dairy Queen!

My husband proposed to me 3 or 4 times within our first 1,5 year together but we only got married after 10 years ;)
The first time was at our first Christmas together, we were just hanging out on the couch, he pulled out a ziplock bag with a ring in it and said ‘ this is the closest you will get to an engagement ring from me’ - really kinda weird but I love my ring and still wear it ;)
The other times were more or less spontaneous - I remember one time we were out with friends and someone convinced h he should propose, so he found a rose and fell on one knee in the middle of a crowd of strangers... I actually hated it so much I said no at that point 🤭
But the time that really took it home was when we after 10 years together started talking about marriage and I repeated what I had said all along, that if he wanted to marry me he had to prove it by arranging it - so he did!! He made all the arrangements, invited our family and best friends, and even bought my dress for me ( after nudging from me).... our wedding was on January 10, and we had the perfect day for us!!! Next January will be our 10th anniversary ;)
Im really not a person that like attention - so our wedding was REALLY small and intimate - and he just arranged it perfectly ;)

I also have an opal in my engagement ring as both my Nan and Mum have them! (And they've both had long happy marriages, despite the fact they're supposed to be 'unlucky') I knew my partner was going to propose as I'd designed my ring and my friend had made it (and then made all the rest of my wedding jewellery), but I didn't know when or how.
So, I work at a National Trust house and it's the last day of my week before the Easter long weekend. I've been told we have a photographer coming in for a project so I'm merrily cleaning the library before he arrives at 9am and trying to deal with an invasion of wasps and having a chat to my boss. Because of this I've not quite got the hoover out before 9, so when I turn to see my partner my first thought actually is 'oh no, I've got one of only two working hoovers and no one else will be able to clean!' And my partner is like 'don't worry about the hoover' and I'm just going 'nope, need to get this out. One moment, good okay, continue'. So he proposes and it's lovely and we chill in the library for a bit and we text our parents and things and then we've got a fire drill planned for 10am so we sit in the library through that before we venture out and my co-workers have a squeal at us which was lovely. And then, because of the drill and being actually short staffed I feel guilty about leaving everyone in the lurch so we finish my cleaning! Me dusting and Alex doing the hoovering! Then we went for a walk around the gardens before we had lunch and went back to my family for fizz ^_^

She sent me a letter confessing that she liked me, too and basically we're together now! We've been making plans for our first date(s) for after quarantine is over. I just want to thank Jessica for helping me to realize that I am pan!

Me and my girlfriend was at a Harry Potter role-play camp in Norway. It was early January and loads of snow! After the official camp was finished, we were all still dressed up in our Hogwarts robes, and the leaders held some speeches. When these were finished, my girlfriend brought a bunch of friends up to the front of the room, and they formed a line. One of the friends pulled me up to the opposite side of the row from my girlfriend, and they each had a piece of paper in front of them. Then they started turning the pages in a wave-motion, to spell out "Will you marry" (in norwegian), and then my girlfriend had the last piece of paper saying "me?". I froze up, my eyes wide open, before I bursted out "Yes!". It was such a wonderful experience, and we can actually say (even if only in make believe) that we got engaged at Hogwarts!

My husband and I met outside our halls of residence during Fresher's Week in 2002. I was 18 and he was 19 when we started going out about 3 weeks later.
In October 2013, we had gone out to celebrate our 11th anniversary at a nice restaurant in town and were on our way back when he asked if I'd mind going for a little walk in a local park before going home. It was a nice enough evening, so I agreed to it and he ended up proposing, while we were sitting on a park bench
(I had asked him not to go down on one knee).

So here is mine. I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer on a Friday. He had gone home to vote. That Monday he took me to a baseball game. In the 7th inning stretch, he turned to me and said, "you know, my father proposed to my mother with an onion ring, because it's what he had. I had a little bit more time, but not much, and my mom and I found this," and he presented a silver ring with a blue stone, "let's just enjoy the time we have."

She had never been to the Grand Canyon before, so I planned the trip for us to go on a road trip from BC to Arizona. When we got there, we went river rafting and hiking and whatnot. And that night while camping under the magnificent, star-laden sky, I proposed to her. Her eyes just shimmered and I swear as cheesy as it may sound, she was the brightest star I saw that night. A couple of days before I visited a friend and casually brought back the DVD "oh I thought we could watch this". He didn't suspect a thing! Even when I went down on one knee with the ring he was like "is this for real" 🤣 I am not romantic, but I thought this was pretty good! We're getting married in October! His grandfather proposed to his grandmother by tying a ring around a stuffed animal tiger she had picked out in a storefront once and giving her "the tiger you picked out." They were married over fifty years before he died. Mark did the same for me, because he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his grandparents.
He presented me with a stuffed animal puppy (because dogs! right?) and around its neck was a ring. He removed the ring and asked me to marry him... and I said yes!

So I got home, greeted my cats then went upstairs. I sold PartyLite at the time and had tons of candles. Jeff had set up pretty candles and as I came in the room, he got down on one knee. I'm literally like 18 years old and super single, and I've never been the "imagine your wedding" type of person, but last summer I went with my family to Greece and we were having dinner at this restaurant in Santorini and kind of sitting at this table that basically looked over all of the island. If you've never been, Santorini is basically an island in a volcano crater so it's pretty small and like a little crescent shape and so our restaurant was on the inner curvy bit where all the touristy spots are and the more premium restaurants/hotels were below is in the proper crescent and there was this one gorgeous restaurant that had little tables, and we could see it very clearly below us but it was set up so that if you were sitting at one of the tables I imagine it would be pretty private. And there was a couple sitting at this table and I kept thinking how that would be such a gorgeous way to get proposed to - taken on a little vacation to Greece (I especially love beaches and summer) and sitting at this restaurant with an amazing view of the sea and the sunset. Would be quite romantic and a big gesture but still private and personal.

So, I am watching now in 2019, and my proposal story is as follows: well, first off I must say that my husband is American, and I am Italian. We met on the internet, back in 2001 (I was 18 and he was 19). We managed to keep our relationship alive through summers and winters together. Fast forward to 2003. He came over for Christmas, and apparently he showed the diamond ring he was going to give me to my parents, while distracting me with some funny stuff on the computer. Later that night (it was Christmas Eve), we were home alone (I lived with my parents in an apartment, and we did not have a lot of room, so while my husband was visiting either us or my parents went to stay with my grandmother), and after dinner he proposed to watch a movie together. I think at that time we still had the VCR and he selected The Lion King, which was among my favorite movies. Yeah well, it was midnight by the time we finished, and so we decided to swap presents. I notice that he goes towards my parents' bookcase, so I guess I had a puzzled expression on my face, because I wasn't well understanding what was going on, and I had no idea he had hid my present there. Long story short: in no time, while I was sitting on the couch, he drops to his knee and proposes to me. He meant to give me a "speech", but then he got so nervous that he kind of forgot it all and got as red as a pepper. He likes to say that my jaw dropped, because I was not expecting that (the reality of it was that I kind of hoped for it, but I was not thinking it was gonna happen). Well, of course I said yes, we both cried, then he wanted to call his parents to tell them the news (my parents obviously already knew and clearly they already imagined the answer). We got married in 2006, and in 8 days from today we'll celebrate our 13th anniversary. It still seems like yesterday! Girls, there will be hard times, but when there is love, everything can be faced and any problem can be solved! Best of luck for you two loving ladies!! :-)

It was two days before my 28th birthday, which is near Christmas, so we were coming home from a lovely party and all dressed up. But my husband, then boyfriend, stated we needed to stop at the mall for a last minute gift. He partied the car in the parking garage but then said, “Let’s go look at William’s Tower Waterwall because it’s all lit up and running at night.” The waterwall is a gorgeous 40 foot installation with water going down on both sides but it’s not always on or especially at night. As we were walking to the wall, I remembered this is where we had our first date and knew he was going propose. When got into the installation the ground was wet, he pulled out the ring, asked me to marry him and then asked if it would be okay if he didn’t get down on one knee because the ground was sopping wet and he was wearing his best suit. I bawled, said ‘Yes!!” And then when we got home he proposed again on one knee.

I also never said yes! But to be fair he never asked! Growing up I spent my birthday’s picking apples in my grandparents’ orchard. After they moved I started taking trips to the pick your own farm on my birthdays- accompanied by much eyerolling from various boyfriends. So there we were, bags in hand, hot cups of cider, and me leading the way whining on and on about how much I wanted to go back to the UK (any reason would do). He, from behind, says “Well would you rather take a trip there next summer OR go there for our honeymoon?” I turned around to see him on one knee with the ring and I sort of just kept going and then I was on the ground and laugh crying and somehow managed to not spill my cider! Married 3.5 years!

Well ours didn't go to plan but it was wonderful all the same. My fiancee was going to propose over Christmas and had it all planned out. But my Gran passed away just before Christmas (she raised me so it was like losing my mum), so it all kind of got put on hold. I went away home to sort the funeral and she joined me for the funeral and never mentioned it at all. A few weeks later in January, we were just talking at home and she goes away to "make a cup of tea" and puts the kettle on and then disappears! She comes back in, without the tea and then just says "Rose, can I ask you something?" so I turn around and she's stood there with the ring box.

Well, we had been together 2 years already and we were going through a financial rough time after I lost my job due to chronic illness. We were watching TV one night talking about how we might be poor but how lucky we are to be together and wouldn't have it any other way, and then he pulled out a Ring Pop and got down in one knee and proposed. That was 3 years ago and this past New Year's he gave me my dream rose gold Opal ring!
Love you guys, hope you're having a great time in Malaysia.

My dad told my mum they were going out for a fancy dinner. When they got into the taxi it went around their flat building & came back to the front door. He took her up to the flat above theirs where, before they went away on holiday, the couple had told him he could use the room. Earlier that day he’d set up a fake romantic restaurant for just the two of them in their living room. He then cooked her favourite food for dinner. The ring was in a chocolate box he’d made for pudding.

My fiance and I went to gran canaria for a holiday this summer and one of the days we were there he suggested that we go to the beach restaurants to have dinner. Actually saying that he thought it would be romantic to have dinner with the ocean as our backdrop. Had a lovely dinner and after that he suggested a walk on the beach in the sunset. We walked for a while and I was starting to get tired so I suggested that we started heading back to the hotel. He the tricked me by saying that he saw some dolphins out in the sea, I looked but nothing there, turned around to him and he's on one knee with an old Nintendo 8bit controller that he made into the ring box (we both love old video games) and he asked me "Will you join me on an adventure to a galaxy far far away and make me the happiest man in the universe?" I bawled my eyes out! And of course said yes 😍
funny thing is that I had told him a couple of weeks earlier after we had seen a movie where the guy proposed on the beach that that would be my perfect proposal. He had already planned this for a good 5 months when I told him that 😅

My now husband got tickets for us and his sisters to go see "Beauty and the Beast on Broadway" at our local playhouse. This was one of my favorite Disney movies. After we finished the play we went outside and he brought me over by the fountain acted like we we're just going to take some pictures. He then got down on one knee. He caught me completely by surprise

I split from my ex and after a year alone I wanted to date but wasn't sure how to figure that out with a toddler.
I was complaining and explaining all the ins and outs of this while out to dinner with my best friend while bub was visiting my ex, and my best friend just said "...how about me?"
I gave it thought and have my friend a written list of what it would entail- being a strong permanent couple so as to create a positive supportive stable environment for my child. They agreed
We discussed which rings to get and once it was figured out I ordered them and we were engaged
    It was perfect :)

We met at community college! We were both in a relationship with other people at the time, but we always wanted to be around each other. We stayed closed for 5 years, then I finally realized how much I loved him and luckily he loved me too

I love proposal stories! I just read all your comments! 😍
    (Long post)
    Well, here's mine:
We knew each other from a Church, where I had introduced him to Audio Engineering (I studied it, but He's so much better at it now than me!). So a few weeks after we met (I didnt really think anything of him) I'm sitting on stone steps in front of the pub where we would build up the church at sunday's and then pack up after again.
So I was sitting on Stone Steps, talking to some friends, and all of a sudden, hes sitting next to me and sais: "I have a tree."
I slowly turn to look at him, a bit annoyed at being interrupted from my good time... But I was curious.
"How does it manifest, that its YOUR Tree?" (Yeh, thats what I said.)
"It has my Initials on it...and a pkus sign and a heart around it" he replies and then looks deep into my eyes, as suddenly as he appeared next to me, and sais:
"and one day, your Initials will be there too."
Outside Reply: Haha! (embarassed laugh) looked away and kept talking.
    But Inside... I was hooked...
Its a long story how we finally came together after that day.. But about 5 years after this, he took me on his Bike. I had already messed up two proposals cause I love surprises and he wasnt all that careful... But that Day, it was perfect! He took me on his Bike to a forest on a mountainside. We parked and he said "I know a beautiful place here". When he announced that we were gonna have to jump some stones over a creek to get there I was like: uh, no way! I'm not doing that!
He was all: Don't be afraid! Look! It's only one stone thats kinda slippery, I'll go first and catch you!
(I love his brutal honesty). So we jumped, and made it, and on the other side there was a path marked with pine cones. All I thought was: Oh! someone was here before us!
But when the Pine Cone Path turned a corner and ended in a blob from where you looked up at a Tree with - yes, you guessed it - A Heart with his Initials, a plus sign and space underneath, I finally got it!
When I walked closer to the tree, he knelt down on one knee and held out the engagement ring and asked me in the most wonderful way!

Not a marriage proposal, but when I asked my girlfriend if she would like to be my girlfriend, we were sitting in a coffee shop, and there was a lull in the conversation, so I sat up and built up the courage and said 'i have something important to ask you.' She looked at me like i was nuts and said 'okay....' I put down my coffee and plainly asked her 'are you my girlfriend?' rather than the obvious question of 'will you be my girlfriend?' she looked at me with that same 'are you crazy' look and just said 'sure.' So romantic! and so very us!

My partner's cousin (who was a ringer for Brad Pitt) collected toy cars. For Christmas he gave his girl a small box, an of course she thought it was a ring. She opened the box, saw a car, went to the front door, and threw the car as hard as she could. This is the point where he explained that there was a Very Large carat diamond ring IN the car. Que thee hours of everyone in the house out in yard and street looking for the car (found first) and then the ring.
