I had an idea of using a cutlery/tray insert (wood) from the dollar store to hang on the wall, then you have several scene areas to paint. I have a tray that has one long section and 3 small sections. I am going to make the minions living area in the large spot and the 3 small ones will be rooms of Gru's house. Will be using clay to make characters. I can see doorables used this way too.

Maybe a miniature teacup ride along the lines of the carousel, that would be a great craft. Carnival, amusements, fair... I don’t know what Americans call it.
