The dad tried his best to make his son happy. First, he got stuck in traffic, then he got stuck at store waiting in line but instead of waiting further in line, he tried to cut the line just to get his son presents on time. He really loves his son and cares about him.

Not gonna lie I felt extremely bad for the dad especially at the end because the mom and the kid couldn't understand how many things he was going through and when the dad showed the kid the presents that's when it broke my heart
I feel sorry for the dad trying so hard to come to everything and wants to be with his son all the time to make him happy.
I remember going through something similar with my mother. Works between 70-100 hours/week but I was never mad for her missing games or anything like that due to my father being in and out of employment. She was able to go to more functions when I was in highschool due to becoming a Supervisor

I think it's so ungrateful that hears a child that can appreciate the father has an actual job He's attempting to bond with you but he may not always have the time because he's busy trying to provide a comfortable life for the mother and son. Wow! What a great son, my dad lives in Thailand, yet still i don't weep or get angry on him. This month there was an exhibition in school, everyone's dad came except mine, I didn't weep. I wasn't sad, I played football my dad never saw, I was never was angry on him. I honestly feel bad for the dad because he spent so much time trying to get the gifts, and he worked so hard to get the money for the gifts too, but the son still doesn't appreciate it. You can tell you really cares about his son. He kind of reminds me of my mom because she would work on her small business, and now she works at the hospital, but then and now she wouldn't be able to come to events like final acting performance, and for my sister; cello group. However, she worked really hard for us and, she was super thoughtful and supportive, so we were grateful and appreciative of that.

This is what my dad does and I don’t mind, he missed my ceremony and that ceremony was to get my school captain badge and he did that for work and I appreciate it because he got me a new iPad for school (since I’m in grade six) and I need it for school. But when u do go with him even just to go to a tool shop I go with him and we have the best time ever! That’s the best thing that about my dad he will always make me happy (except for the lectures and making me study). That’s the smallest thing a dad needs to do for u except for buying an iPad. Be grateful everyone!
