I feel that simplistic flows when building the emotion of the character is the best way to go. I disagree on the point that DPS doesn't use enough flow switches, because he doesn't rely on them to make the song land. He's using the best flow possible for that moment in the lyrics and on the beat, and the drum patterns he's using for the flows here truly accentuates the beat.

Anyway, I do have a few ideas to maybe help with your reactions, if that's ok? I personally think that you seem to pause a little too much, to the point that some of the... flow I guess (only recently got into rap, so I don't know all the terms) or rhythm gets interrupted, so I think that it would be better to hold the "big thoughts" such as what you said about the hook for after it ends and just let it play while you make the small comments, like how Irina is your favorite character. Personally, I just always felt that pauses should be for a mind blowing moment, like All Might's first line in the Escanor/All Might battle you did. (first one that came to mind).

I don' think it's hypocritical to critique someone else for something you also do, as long as you understand that is also a flaw in your music. No one is perfect. That's not...a good thing. Of course a hook is the one that repeats, which is when he also figured out that it was the hook. The critique was that the first time you hear the hook you can't tell, so the track is monotonous.
