A vynil! An enchanting vynil!! " Philips hi - fi monaural!!! I love old things!... In Brasil, named " Market of Hearts ". Monsieur Legrand is spectacular, with thrilling strings !! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE " Picasso Suite "(1969) and " The Go - Between "(1971) - the same theme in, I guess so, seven different arrangements!! Great!! Thanks again, Fred!!!
beautiful opening tune, wish I could download it somewhere but sadly not, the film is a delicious slice of fun as well the music is perfect for it
Starring Glenn Ford, Hope Lange, Charles Boyer and Telly Savalas “Love Is A Ball” (1963) is your warmhearted romantic 60s comedy about a professional matchmaker (Boyer) who arranges relationships between the rich on the French riviera.
Accompanying the cast’s funny ups and downs is the vivid music by French composer Michel Legrand (while his sister sang on the sessions and his brother supervised the score’s mixing process). Luckily his fine music found its way on a soundtrack album at the time of the film’s release, but unfortunately never on any other format. But as the music is such pleasure to listen to, it was taken carefully from a fine copy of the LP for your delight. Enjoy!

Michel Legrand magic! I have a nice CDR of this album, too, that also includes another of his rare but charming scores for the Hayley Mills vehicle A MATTER OF INNOCENCE (PRETTY POLLY). I'd love to see a pressed CD of his lush romantic score for HOW TO SAVE A MARRIAGE AND RUIN YOUR LIFE, a personal favorite of mine. I never get enough MIchel Legrad. He was truly right up there with Mancini as one of filmdom's master jazz melodists of the 20th century.

Michel Legrand lo ricordo per le musiche di "Base artica Zebra", "Castel Keep, "Il caso Thomas Crown", "La piscina", "Summer Of '42", "Breezy", "Never Say Never Again".
Il film, fu girato a Nizza e in altre location sulla Costa Azzurra in Francia.
Secondo i critici però, il film è una "commedia turistico-sentimentale da dimenticare" e risulterebbe "potabile come una gassosa"; le uniche cose apprezzabili sarebbero i paesaggi della Costa Azzurra filmati in Panavision.
Poi che il film è una "pellicola forzata e futile che vorrebbe essere chic".
In Italia, il film si chiama "Il granduca e mister Pimm".
