Hey bro THANKS for posting this hoover "how to"!! Im in my 50s and recently fired up my ancient copy of Reason. This sound brings me back to vacant warehouse parties in early 90s!
Nice video and to add on to some comments i been djing 15 years alot of ups and downs hustling. Producing 2 years and gained alot more knowledge and alot more satisfaction making music. Bloody Beetroots alone are a massive inspiration. Make music and let the world here your shit. No greater pleasure then making a banger. Nice video dude !
@VioletRocketOfficial this video is explaining how to make a similar synth to the one you are talking about in a program called reason 4.0 which does not support vst. Its true that if you are running a DAW that supports vst it would be a smarter decision to use the sylenth1 preset, but this is for those who only use reason and do not have access to it.
AHAHA! I created this before this tutorial but i haven't used flanger. I added vocoder which is set as 4 bands eq.Sound good too. This helped me alot! Thanks man!
Being 2013 and you having advanced your skills since then, can you get a fatter, richer, closer to the original (or better) Juno synth going now? Any updates? Or maybe a patch that improves it, maybe improving other basses as well?
Did you buy Record or is that just a trail? ( i know it's not what you're using, i just saw the logo in the background) Great tutorial as always! - Skaul
Well to be honest, I picked up Record when it came out, but there is not a lot to it. You can't even reverse waveforms... Reason is a nice solid DAW. The only limit is that it does not support Audio - just MIDI. (but that's where record comes in)
just get sylenth vst and there it is :dominator preset (dominator is a track by human resource who basicly got that sound out of the juno in first place)
@SonicOrbit01 any idea what they use on the first song on the album??? romborama feat. all leather???? it almost sounds the same but it's almost like it's that sound but reversed....... any ideas??? i have sylenth and im trying to figure that out.
I love your tutorials dude, but I think it they would be 10X better if you played the sound as you made the changes. That way people that dont use reason could easily follow along using other synths. just a thought :)
thanks man why did you do param 2 on the EQ though if you didn't touch the gain? wouldn't that have no effect? you're videos are great, I'm buying the refill pack tonight
Yeah i know, it's of course better if you've made it all by your self. But what i meant is that it's a PRESET in the vst sylenth1. I didn't tell you to use it ?. But if you want it to be EXACTLY as bloody beetroots synth, then i'd use that preset in that vst.
@XxTestProfilxX anything that supports multiple oscillators... which is just about every synth vst out there. Vanguard. Massive. I use Reason for all my synths so I can't think of anymore.
actually i am with you. i use reason for almost everything. i have ableton live for and some plugins, but reason normally wins. I wasn't meaning to insult reason, i would rather use live for vocal handling, and some recorded stuff. But reason really is the shit, and i am tempted to get record, i have heard they are amazing together.
Param 2 with a gain of 0 is doing nothing in this patch! Also a wee note - in the Bus Routing part of Thor, rather using 3 lines to Mod each of the Osc' pitches, the right hand side of the routing can have 2 destinations for 1 Mod - perfect for this synth. Just a speedy alternative!
@ravenworld1 Yeah, you could get something pretty similar... the microkorg is a nice toy, although a dangerous one is capable of doing some pretty damn cool synths! i consider it a must have...
@skater4nater Like the sequencer is making that much of a difference... FL is great aswel. Both Reason and FL have (dis)advantages. Like Reason not having VST support. Yeah the Reason synths look awesome, but so are Sytrus or if you get it, Sylenth1.
@gavinjamesaitken1 this just in posers, you can use each and every synth in reason as a plugin in fl studio... so you could do what he just did in fl studio as well....
@phreshsk821 no offence but its in the title "Create "The Warp Synth" By The Bloody Beetroots in Reason 4.0" so its in Reason 4. Reason 5 is out though :D
hehe true. but just gave a simpler way to do it. Anyways Great work dude! I love the bloody beetroots, but i didn't actually think they used presets :/. Oh well. Have a good one
@skater4nater if you think fl studio cant do the hoover sound search hoover and fl studio. there's loads of new tutorials, and no offense... the fl studio 3xosc synth sounds better than this imo, even while its not eq'd and cleaned up. check it out for yourself... :hoover fl studio tutorial kev willow.
@VanIsleBC yea but you'd have to buy two different programs. whats the point in that? if i had enough money to buy reason and fl i'd just get logic, durr
SGFVIDEOS is right. Even after 7 minutes of tutorial you're still miles away from the sylenth1 preset. It's the same used in Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", by the way.
i really really REALLY don't understand how you know how to work with this ;p there're just sooo many options and buttons. respect for those who can :D$
@Evi1M4chine... The guy is making a tutorial that's free, and pretty bloody good. It might not be perfect, but ffs, stop bashing him for putting a pretty decent tutorial that's useful for beginners...
@VanIsleBC logic is better than reason man for sure. you can use third party vst's. you can record vocals unlike reason etc. i dunno reason is good for what it is.

Nice video dude !
Excellent tutorial thank you sir. Appreciate you taking the time to do this.
Reason's not quite as scary as it once was now!
@VioletRocketOfficial this video is explaining how to make a similar synth to the one you are talking about in a program called reason 4.0 which does not support vst. sounds just as good as any hoover i ever heard, even the one in lisa lashes' "dance 2 the house"
Thank you sir... Thank you. Raving it up here in the UK!
Always love your tutorials. I hope you make more.
I bought record, still figuring it out, will post tutorials for it soon
really awesome tutorials man thank you!
AHAHA! I created this before this tutorial but i haven't used flanger. I added vocoder which is set as 4 bands eq.Sound good too. This helped me alot! Thanks man!
@MrRyanWags I'm a little confused, are you talking about the sidechain compression in the demo song, or the actual compression of the synth?
in bloody beetroots song warp 1.9 they used a preset from syleenth1 called HOV dominator :3
Excellent tutorial. You're obviously very familiar with music production...
nice tutorial i look some stuff from u and made it a bit better thnx ;) keep em coming dude
Yes!!! thanks so much for this one dude :) You're a legend
I love how you find this if you look for "hoover syth" on youtube :D
The exact sound the Bloody Beetroots used is literally a preset titled "DOMINATOR" in Sylenth1.
Being 2013 and you having advanced your skills since then, can you get a fatter, richer, closer to the original (or better) Juno synth going now? Any updates? Or maybe a patch that improves it, maybe improving other basses as well?
Awesome video! Happy New Year

it's also a sample in reason in the NNXT advanced sampler
just get sylenth vst and there it is :dominator preset (dominator is a track by human resource who basicly got that sound out of the juno in first place)
@SonicOrbit01 any idea what they use on the first song on the album??? romborama feat. all leather???? it almost sounds the same but it's almost like it's that sound but reversed....... any ideas??? i have sylenth and im trying to figure that out.

Just use Sylenth1 VSTi ,"HOV Dominator" patch
thanks man
why did you do param 2 on the EQ though if you didn't touch the gain? wouldn't that have no effect?
you're videos are great, I'm buying the refill pack tonight
yes that is a juno sound but not an actual Juno synthesizer, the juno synth is made by roland and is a hardware synth
hoover's been used since acid house in the mid 80s, so just a bit more than 15 years
you should consider showing how the synth sounds before and after you make any major change.
Yeah i know, it's of course better if you've made it all by your self. But what i meant is that it's a PRESET in the vst sylenth1. I didn't tell you to use it ?. But if you want it to be EXACTLY as bloody beetroots synth, then i'd use that preset in that vst.

@Evi1M4chine Native Instruments Komplete isnt a DAW is it? I thought it was just a sound pacK?!?!
@skater4nater i feel ya, i used FL, Cubase, Protools, but reason is where its at. : )
@trayJ1000
the processes are the same, but the synths arent. if you want it to sound exactly like a juno u need a juno.
@ballyslapface i wanna know more about ableton. does it come with many synths as stock?
@BestNewElectroHouse so... how does going and downloading something preset help you learn what your actually doing?
think a little
this is true, but sylenth1 does not work in reason, I made this video for reason users
Nice! Even if TBB "scratched" the warp sample if you notice..
@skater4nater You BOUGHT IT!?!? Never thought of using a torrent? Holy Moley Macaroni !
lennar digital sylenth is what they used it has the exact sound preset
@skater4nater Like the sequencer is making that much of a difference...
FL is great aswel. Both Reason and FL have (dis)advantages. Like Reason not having VST support.
Yeah the Reason synths look awesome, but so are Sytrus or if you get it, Sylenth1.
@trayJ1000 yes of course, but before you're able to do something with it, you should be able to produce it
@skater4nater why and the hell did u spend money on FL Studio?
@gavinjamesaitken1 this just in posers, you can use each and every synth in reason as a plugin in fl studio... so you could do what he just did in fl studio as well....
@phreshsk821 no offence but its in the title "Create "The Warp Synth" By The Bloody Beetroots in Reason 4.0"
so its in Reason 4. Reason 5 is out though :D
nice one m8... lady gaga uses this synth too on "bad romance".... i wonder who is her producer... bob rifo?! :P
you know decay does nothing if sustain is all the way up right?
Vst's work on most music production programs.
Isn't it just a Hoover sound?
The real one is on the Sylenth2, called "Dominator".
but technically isnt the bloody beetroots synth sidechained?
hehe true. but just gave a simpler way to do it. Anyways Great work dude!
I love the bloody beetroots, but i didn't actually think they used presets :/. Oh well.
Have a good one
this video was not a recreation of the song, it was a tutorial on how to make the synth....
What good music programs actually work on Linux computers?
Or you can do just as the bloody beetroots did...
Use a preset in the vst: Sylenth1
2:57 the decay doesn't matter at all if the sustain is 100%. think about it, what r u decaying to?
@skater4nater if you think fl studio cant do the hoover sound search hoover and fl studio. there's loads of new tutorials, and no offense... the fl studio 3xosc synth sounds better than this imo, even while its not eq'd and cleaned up. check it out for yourself... :hoover fl studio tutorial kev willow.
what program are you using? reason thor synth?
@VanIsleBC yea but you'd have to buy two different programs. whats the point in that? if i had enough money to buy reason and fl i'd just get logic, durr
Is there free( but useful) software like Reason? I have Audacity but it lacks most of the features on Reason.
SGFVIDEOS is right.
Even after 7 minutes of tutorial you're still miles away from the sylenth1 preset.
It's the same used in Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", by the way.
propellerhead reason 4.0- it cant do everything, but it can do alot. specially for electro/dance stuff.
i really really REALLY don't understand how you know how to work with this ;p
there're just sooo many options and buttons.
respect for those who can :D$
What can I say...? Another great TUTORIAL!
You rocked as always!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Take a look to my latest Mashup!
hey I bely got reason 4.0 and wanted to know how do you save your own synths or presets
just downloaded his, I like mine a bit more lol ;)
aha thats siiiick but the real one sounds more dirty and rough
@BestNewElectroHouse hey i couldnt find his channel can u help me out with that?
Do you have the RNS file with the lead ...?
select the drop down by the filter and select "bypass"
@Evi1M4chine... The guy is making a tutorial that's free, and pretty bloody good. It might not be perfect, but ffs, stop bashing him for putting a pretty decent tutorial that's useful for beginners...
AWESOME stuff 5/5
experiment with different synthesizers (3xOsc, Sytrus) or connect Reason with FL Studio via ReWire
Thank you for your help mate
@VanIsleBC logic is better than reason man for sure. you can use third party vst's. you can record vocals unlike reason etc. i dunno reason is good for what it is.
its on as a present for a vst called sylenth
what vsts do u use?
@skater4nater there is also a demo you know.
@gabbeat
he forgot the 'initialize patch' instruction, as you know
Can use this in FL Studio 9?
Can you make a bassline similar to the one in Drivepilot - Fuck yeah?
ur a legend man.. thank you
what program is this?
You didn't show syth you used..
no is there one there for free?
can we get juno 's sounds ?
can you make a tutorial for the beat?
how do you add the Laptops Keyboard to play the Key notes
@gavinjamesaitken1 Yeah. No VST support is so awesome!
Cubase and Logic Do it aswell im pretty sure,
Although i use vanguard, ive heard cubase is good and easy to use
@hitzmansam trust me I thought the same, but it all slowly but surely comes to you through experimentation :D
why does it say init patch to thor
I LOVE U JORDY
how can i get this synth in FL STUDIO 9?
thanxx man .. u r the best :)
not free but sylenth1 has a hoover that sounds exactly like the one from WARP
