Looking back at this, I realize now that we were essentially playing Half-Life (1999) with skins for 10 years.
The CSGO engine was made with Source engine, Half life was made with GoldSource

Ya, never even got close to competitive until csgo. Before that it was on a friendly server 47ronin

So if he dies the bomb won't be exposed to the enemy team because if he dies attempting to get the opening kill and drops the bomb the round is pretty much over unless something unusual happens...
This game is awesome for competitive, but CSGO is just a casual game that’s still somehow popular.

CSGO has been designed to be as competitive as possible since launch, with rebalancing of the metas, turning underused guns into more useful ones (P250, UMP45, MP9), and better hitboxes.
CS 1.6 has broken hitboxes currently, but it is still a very good competitive game
Still blinded by nostalgia I see, 1.6 has terrible hitboxes. CSGO ultimelty made it much better
@@theobserver4214 1.6 never had good hitboxes, some console commands claimed to fix them, but they did jack shit.
CS 1.6 was good for its time but nodaways it just doesn't. Anyway, good clasic IMO

PS: Although I have 10k hours on Steam in CS:GO, that's offline hours since I had to use CS:GO's Steam overlay for browsing due to a technical issue with my CPU that would freeze when not running a game. Weird, I know. lmao
@gargos25 1.6/cz were the best especially with the expert bots
So much harder than csgo and so much better. Only thing that is better in csgo/cs2 is nades

Graphics and on some maps balancing, but everything else was basically better in 1.6.
Movement, economy, guns, haxxing, boosts, recoil, player models, no peekers advantage.
