Acharyas are not a product of the circumstances that have influenced them. They are beyond such material and political circumstances. This is something that needs to be made clear right at the outset. Acharyas are direct associates of the Lord. They are not influenced by any so called political trends. The non violence ideology did not overtake the persona of Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada was very much convinced that the so called freedom fighters lacked the courage to fight for freedom.

It is very sad that in the entire talk, your good self found one statement to pick upon. The statement you quoted too is not complete. The complete statement is as follows - "Ācāryas are able to usher in new circumstances in the world... they are trend setters, but they (their lives) are also products of the trends that occurred before them".
Partially quoting the statement is unjust, but still your good self has done it. I am sorry to see this.
Śrīla Prabhupāda himself said in a lecture on 15 Feb 1971 - "In 1922, I was at that time very much engaged in Congress activity. I was very much a devout follower of Mahātmā Gandhi, and at that time, I was manager also in a very big chemical concern in Calcutta."
I take statements like these on face value, and perhaps you may not agree with that. You may think that Śrīla Prabhupāda is not speaking the truth when he is admitting his connection to Indian independence movement and Gandhi. I understand the viewpoint that in their siddha-deha, ācāryas are eternally untouched by material circumstances. However, in their sādhaka-deha, they do exist in the material world and sometimes, some circumstances may affect them temporarily, just as illusion temporarily took over Arjuna before the Mahābhārata war.
In conclusion, I agree with you when you say that the ācāryas are eternally untouched by material nature, but this is only pertaining to their siddha-deha. In their sādhaka identity, the ācāryas may also be affected temporarily by the circumstances around them. My best wishes.

that the acaryas were products of their times does not sit well with me - they appeared during certainly historical periods, and their preaching strategies may have been influenced by/aligned with the needs, interests, and concerns of those times - but I do not accept that they are products of their times - in any case, I will listen a bit more to your wonderful realisations and instructions.
