I have found that 6-7 frames seems to be a good number. The animations in this video are all 6 frames long. This might seem like a small number, but it can often be overcome by making animations loopable, using rotating symmetric objects such as the cog wheels (0:22) and the Super Mario question block (2:00), and having multiple objects moving after each other. Fast question: how many frames do your animations have? How many frames have you tried maximum? (I tried 12 and it looked bad, you could barely see through grid with 12 frames). And of cource, since I do this "art" too, liked this video!

Hi! Many office supplies stores carry such plastic papers because they are used for overhead projectors. So you can use the stripes-only image that is also generated by the program to print the stripes directly on the plastic paper using an ordinary printer.
Does not work because I'm unable to load more than 1 picture at the same time. If I try the samples a error message appears that I cannot create an animated illusion with only one frame but more than one frame I cannot load. What did I wrong?
I can't seem to make your program work... I open the files, and I can't select more than one image. I select number 1, and it shows the animation as it should be. So I click "merge animation" but the result is only the first frame there, the other ones aren't merged and so no animation. Text function doesn't seem to work properly either... What am I doing wrong??
I would like to talk to you about these animated illusions. I'm doing mine with pixel art. I'm making the effect work but my black horizontal bars are very thick and I'm getting 8 frames of animation, but its not as clear as yours. Your transparent layer has almost equal width of black and transparent bars. I'm assuming that your frames are razor thin on the actual paper.

The circular animation works by pinning the plastic paper at the center of the image and rotating it to see the animation

Hm, maybe it would help to rescale the images to be larger before sending them to the program?
