Amazing. I would not be surprised if he said "I wanted to simulate a worn outer tie rod end on the truck...." or "To add a bit of realism this truck's carburetor is set a little rich because he can only get low octane gasoline"
yeah it requires a lot of time and patience, you can do quite a lot on the cheap but for some of the good stuff you need to spend a little money! Thanks for watching 😀
Fantastic video with lots of great tips. Do you ever "bulge" tires (file a flat where the tire contacts the ground and build up a small epoxy bulge on the outer wall)? If so I would love to see your technique.
Just save. Little bit at a tine. Buy tools, and equipment, go as you can. Consumables/Perishables come later, and in smaller quantities so they wont go bad before you use them. Use the cheats Luke shows, like using that Thick Paper, and Glue to make parts with, instead of Sheet Styrene. Eventually, you'll have a very impressive shop!
Your models are absolutely amazing. I have just sat for 2 hours watching some of them without realising the time. Your attention to detail is amazing. Thank you for sharing your skills and information - I've really learned so much.
I get so wrapped up in watching the process that the time flies by. At the end of the video I couldn't believe I had just watched 18 minutes, it felt like half that. Great content Luke, I look forward to your next upload!
Hello Luke, my name is Nerea, I study model making in Barcelona (Spain) and I learn so much from your videos, you're one of my best reference. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you give me.
i couldn't imagine how anybody could do a better job! its like watching magic happening without the curtain covering the tricky bits! just when I thought you couldn't out do your last video, you go and post this one and yet again, Mind Blown!
I used to love modeling when I was younger so there are two sides to me when I watch a video like this; one side says i can't believe the obsessive level of detail on a project like this- and the other side of me thinks that is why I loved modeling so much and wants to get back into it! Thank you for this great inspirational video, I am about to make the red button white!
I've been watching your videos for about a week now and I'm amazed. I'm not a model person, but you make me want to start. Ah, if only time and money were no object...
Hi ! Sometimes little miracles can happen ! Before going to sleep I was thinking "Where have Luke and his wonderful videos disappeared since this last cemetery scene ? I miss them.". A few hours later I discover another super great video during my insomnia ! :) What can we say again ? Your videos, how you explain the things and of course the results are simply amazing ... as usual ! Thanks a lot, Luke ! Cheers !
Hey Luke. This reminded me of building model cars when I was a kid. Good times. I don’t think I ever did as nice of a job as you do. One thing I did was heat the tire and push down on the wheel to put a natural belly in the tire. Or give it a full flat. Made it seem like the tire was actually holding up the weigh of the vehicle.
Very tedious. But amazingly interesting. I'm glad you Luke, have a patient disposition for such detailed modeling. I really enjoy watching how you changed that truck! Always a pleasure and a good learning time spent.
This is a fine detailing work, wow! Even not doing such things with my stuff, I find most of the customization that we most see around of the internet quite average, mainly in proportions, but what you do, it's from another world. Seeing how small those crates are compared to your fingernails, it's really impressive how you manage to put the sides together w/o squishing them, and even adding their feet, steady hands. Nice dedication!
That is truly amazing the detail and patience it must have taken to complete I do not have that kind of patience my hat is off to you sir great mod and great video
I love your videos so much ! I'm always impressed by your patience and the care you take for every detail !!! Congratulations again from "the other end of the world" (France) . Oh, and beware ! Unlike the lightning, super glue often strikes twice at the same place !! ^^
Luke, I never did anything about model scenery and I don´t like do it now, because it's really difficult, but i see you every video and i'm fascinated. You are the best!! thanks!
Wow! Found your channel through facebook, was amazed at one of your river scenery building ones. So much detail! Everything looks so perfectly imperfect. Also really cool to see techniques for putting finishing on different materials like the wood and thread or all of the different paints.
Another good one, it's awesome how you take a small detail in a scene and tear it down and detail it even more. I wish you could upload a video everyday! I wouldn't get anything done I'd be watch your videos all day ha.
I adore your vids (odd choice of words i know) but i not only watch these because of the skill you portray but they are very soothing to watch also haha
Amazing transformation! My only tip in making a quick but important upgrade to vehicles is adding license plates to all my cars and trucks. They can be downloaded, scaled down in Illustrator, and they really add a level of realism when applied to the bumpers.
WOW GREAT INFORMATION! I love die-cast cars and to customize them it is a great idea! You are a true artist! Love all the details! I will have to try this!
Thanks for this very complete and interesting tutorial, as usual. Your videos are so explicated, it's very clear, all seems to be simple.... Sorry for the mistakes of language. Eric from France.
Thanks, Luke, for another exciting and informative tutorial. I really love your work; you certainly have a lot of patients for working on such small ¨things¨. I just hope I can master the detail work and patients that it takes for such amazing detail work. I hope to be retiring soon (possibly in Sept. of this year) so I will be dedicating the rest of my time on getting my HO scale railroad back in operation. It´s been stored in my barn for over 15 years and I hope to resurrect it after I retire. Thanks again and cheers from your friend across the big pond. Crack on, mate.
Thanks mate, I wish you luck with your retirement... I'm sure you've certainly earn't it. I'm sure you have many busy years ahead working on the railroad as well, it's good that you have something to keep you motivated after you retire 😀
Great video Luke! Really enjoyed it and as usual the tips are just pure gold! Thanks again for posting my Mad Max Interceptor hot wheel model/diorama. I am going to try some these weathering techniques as I have a rat rod hot wheel project in mind. Hopefully get caught up on my other work and give it a go.
No worries mate 😀 I usually don't do any modeling with Hot Wheels cars because they tend to need a lot of work to make them look good however you are definitely doing a great job with them! Keep up the great work
Another superbly produced video Luke. I was going to say "as good as the professional ones..", however I actually think it is better than most of the professional ones! I think I might have done the wood deck weathering slightly differently: the grain actually looked quite good after the first coat of paint, I think I would have dry brushed the paler shades on at that point with perhaps a bit of pale grey as well, then gloss coated, pin wash the plank seams before finishing with Dullcote. Just my own thoughts, your finished result looks great! 👍
Not quite: the bloke is actually an airline pilot,(his profession) and these vids are his hobby. He is self-taught, so another disclaimer to being a "professional". Any way you look at it, he does a bloody good job on these tutorials!
I agree with you that he is awesome but not to burst your bubble, being paid for something means you are a professional. I know that in the popular language it means something different but hey my profession is language ;)
Thanks for the amazing compliment 😀 I like your idea on weathering the tray, I'll definitely do some experimenting with your technique in the near future, I have a few more of these trucks I'll be doing.
Great, be interesting to see how they turn out. Not sure if you have visited "The Rustbucket" forum, there is some really inspirational railroad, building and vehicle weathering projects there...addictive viewing!
Amazing. I would not be surprised if he said "I wanted to simulate a worn outer tie rod end on the truck...." or "To add a bit of realism this truck's carburetor is set a little rich because he can only get low octane gasoline"
The truck driver got a major plastic surgery, a tummy tuck, and a back lift. You're a true miniature plastic surgeon. Great job Luke.
ha ha thanks Erick, it's not the first time I've done surgery on someone!
LOL. I know Luke. I have seen all of your videos.
OMG! I am amazed at your level of patience! Such attention to minute detail...These are just marvelous little pieces of art!
thanks mate... Sometimes I go a bit overboard 😀
Luke the overboard models are realistic.
I wish I had time, money and patience for stuff like this.. Well I can always watch your videos Luke!
Grauengaard. U need talent too.
yeah it requires a lot of time and patience, you can do quite a lot on the cheap but for some of the good stuff you need to spend a little money! Thanks for watching 😀
Fantastic video with lots of great tips.

The end part where the driver is glued to your finger, I just completely lost it 😂😂😂
I’ve never tried to recreate a diorama,,, but today,,,, I did! It look very nice
I get so wrapped up in watching the process that the time flies by. At the end of the video I couldn't believe I had just watched 18 minutes, it felt like half that. Great content Luke, I look forward to your next upload!
this is PURE ART!! I`m speechless!
wow thanks for such a great compliment!
You should join a model railroading club, and show them all your tricks.
Arc Sims 4
Arc Sims 4 sorry but I'm that was so annoying but yes
Arc Sims 4 yeah this is amazing!
Pinholes for nails!!!!!this is so good. You have thought of everything. So therapeutic to watch but you must have the patience of a saint!
Art requires patience and Luke has bag fulls, giving excellent results every time. what a skill set
wow thanks for such a fantastic comment 😀
I have said it before, Luke is the greatest Diorama builder I have seen. Incredible tutorials, incredible details, just a pleasure to watch.
Hello Luke, my name is Nerea, I study model making in Barcelona (Spain) and I learn so much from your videos, you're one of my best reference. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you give me.
I'm not a modeller myself but I adore miniature things. Only seen a few of your videos today but think I'm getting hooked!
so enjoyable to watch.. 18 minutes felt like 5 minutes .. awesome !!!!
wow thanks mate, glad you managed to watch the whole video 😀
Good lord those crates are impossibly small and detailed. You sir are incredibly talented.
I *love* miniatures and what you do, you are a master craftsmen. I can sit for hours and watch your videos.
I find it amazing the patience one has to do that stuff... just wow
That has been such a GREAT video. I didn't even noticed it lasted over 18 min. I enjoyed every second of it. Yours is simply talent and passion.
"I can't feel my legs! And who turned my beautiful new truck into a hoopty?!"
hahaha 😄
lol
i couldn't imagine how anybody could do a better job! its like watching magic happening without the curtain covering the tricky bits! just when I thought you couldn't out do your last video, you go and post this one and yet again, Mind Blown!
wow thanks Tyler, so glad you liked it... I hope I can continue to post great videos for you to watch 😀
Just want to let you know that I really appreciate how much effort goes into these videos! Thank you!
I used to love modeling when I was younger so there are two sides to me when I watch a video like this; one side says i can't believe the obsessive level of detail on a project like this- and the other side of me thinks that is why I loved modeling so much and wants to get back into it! Thank you for this great inspirational video, I am about to make the red button white!
i love the humor on the driver... hahaha your videos are so satisfying to watch. Thanks for sharing...
Excellent as always! The tips on the thread and the lumber were quite helpful too.
I've been watching your videos for about a week now and I'm amazed. I'm not a model person, but you make me want to start. Ah, if only time and money were no object...
I just loved the part where you where working on the driver, I laughed so much.
lol yeah he got butchered quite a bit 😀
Omg he Frankensteined the driver, lol. Good work mate, hope to see more.
You truly have a gift man, idk from where do you get ur patience
it is always relaxing to watch your videos, and you have very big patience, and you attention of details was amazing
Hi ! Sometimes little miracles can happen ! Before going to sleep I was thinking "Where have Luke and his wonderful videos disappeared since this last cemetery scene ? I miss them.". A few hours later I discover another super great video during my insomnia ! :)
What can we say again ? Your videos, how you explain the things and of course the results are simply amazing ... as usual ! Thanks a lot, Luke ! Cheers !
thank you for the kind words 😀 glad you enjoyed watching

thanks John, glad you managed to pick up a new technique 😀
cant stop watching your videos... you pay so much attention to detail, its amazing!
Who are the people that dislike this video? Are they mad? This is an expert craftsman doing what he does best. What's not to like?
Very tedious. But amazingly interesting. I'm glad you Luke, have a patient disposition for such detailed modeling. I really enjoy watching how you changed that truck! Always a pleasure and a good learning time spent.
Absolutely incredible! You didn't miss a single detail.
Your videos relax me and i fall asleep to them often please upload more

This is a fine detailing work, wow! This is incredible work! I'm speechless
"Surgery" aka butcher-magic.
beautiful job, wonderful detailing
How does one even get into doing this? This kind of artistic work seems right down my alley!
You could go check out a hobby shop if you have one nearby, there are usually a lot of kits that will help you get started 😀
Aww mate you're an artist.
super maquettisme avec explications très détaillées. Un plaisir à regarder
