It's a magnificent interpretation, beautiful voice, beautiful woman. OBVIOUSLY Bowie himself thought so, he recognized talent and wanted only the best on his albums. Bowie would've loved it. And I'm fairly sure he wouldn't care for someone trashing a talented singer he thought was talented paying him tribute IF he cared about your negativity to begin with. And discussing her relationship with Bowie? That was a significant part of her life and to tell her she isn't allowed to as speak of it and if she does that it's for attention? If the world of fans grieved, imagine how someone who loved him feels. Y'all need to chuck that criticism. This is fantastic, if you'd stop talking shit enough to hear it you'd understand that.
Her vocals are best heard on the 1975 'Young Americans' LP. That's the most interesting of Bowie LP'S simply due to all those who sprang from it; Luther Vandross, David Sanborn, & Bowie's great backing band & co-writers like Carlos Alomar
I never thought much of her voice back in the day, assuming she was mostly David's notion of eye candy, but she does well here. Personally though, I'd have enjoyed the video more without Jack Black on guitar. lol
If you know Bowie you would know that he would be the sort to encourage instead of frown on these efforts. He believed that what art inspires is as important as the art itself.
