this is amazing....i remember as a 20 year old i wanted to save up for 2 technics mk2 a mixer , amlifiers , speakers ,headphones and so much records .... how times have changed
DJs these days are so spoiled with technology, but that's not to say old skool DJs can't take advantage as well!
I still have my Technics SL1200s and Numark mixer 👌

These are such great little controllers I learnt on this .... My set up has messed up recently so I just bought this as a temp controller .... I rate these and Great as a spare or to use as independent lights once you move up the DJ equipment scale ... nice to see the upgrade to the jogs and the addition of the filter

just bought mine , my numark is so cool.
I should have taken these more seriously. Now that I have full turntables and everything, here I am looking for something easy to move around with all the essentials. This whole thing with my iPad and iPhone is just amazing!

I literally JUST bought the Numark Party Mix2 today….affer seeing THIS video and the Demo from Mr. Sonny James on the Serato channel this past weekend. I was looking for a portable solution and practice device as an alternative to my Workhorse DDJ-REV1 and my beloved 🤩 RANE ONE.
The light show jawn was a bit gimmicky for me but after seeing how it’s defeated and actually OUT THE BOX 📦 the default is OFF! 🔥🔥🔥💯👌🏾
I’m guessing there might be a time when I’m just messing around etc and want to use them!? 🤷🏽♂️ But I’ve got lighting already. LOL 😂

I have the original party mix, my first ever controller. I thought it would be a fun way to entertain myself, if learnt how to DJ at 45 hahaha. And it is a fantastic little device., I love it. Party Mix 2 definitely looks like a good upgrade.
The Partymix is a great entry level controller, and also a great back up controller as it fits in your pocket! 😂

Do it! It's a great controller to start off with!
I just picked up one at Walmart (of all places) and found to be a great entry-level controller as it will do all tasks DJs need to do at minimum.
My only gripe, if it could be called that, is that Numark missed an opportunity with the lights and didn't add a metronome option to help us n00bs with beatmatching similar to to what the Hercules Starlight has.
Now, if that option is already there in Serato or DJay, I'd love to know where it is.

Thanks for this solid review. I just picked one up for casual use, however I can't see why this unit isn't perfectly capable for professionals as well. I told my long-time DJ friend, who's been a professional for a couple of decades at this point, that I picked one up and as expected he completely trashed it calling it a toy. Now granted it's entry-level gear, but considering I started playing before him back in the day, and was part of his inspiration apparently, I look forward to schooling him on my little toy. 😆
Edit: As a small side note, you can pick up a mini bluetooth tx with 3.5mm connectivity for wireless headphones use. As long as it incorporates aptX tech, latency should be of no concern, however I have yet to try it (soon).

This was the most helpful video of all of them! Thank you! I couldn’t seem to figure out why it wouldn’t turn on when connected to my phone, until you mentioned it needs the charger in too because it wouldn’t give it enough power! 😂 also do you know if I can make Apple Music work with it?
Great to hear, thank you so much for your lovely comment! Apple Music isn't compatible with any DJ software I'm afraid, Tidal is probably the closest equivalent in terms of commercial music!
Tidal is great. I use it. For while Spotify was supported in virtual dj. That wasn’t yesterday.

I agree with your comment regarding the lights. I think Numark could have omitted that feature and used the funds towards more effects/filters etc. Regardless, this is neat and I'm looking into purchasing one. Thanks for your review!
Indeed. The lights are cheesy and I don't see myself ever using them. I'd trade them for a mid-band eq pot any day!
How do I trigger 16 bar loop in Serato DJ Pro? PM2 only triggers up to 8 bars. Scratching my head!

Hi, looking for help regarding using this controller with my ipad on dj algoriddim Pro. I get no sound through my headphones as all. The headphone button on the dj controller boosts the sound through the main speaker with nothing coming through my headphones at all. If I use serato dj lite on my laptop the controller works fine. However, I would prefer to use dj algoriddim Pro as the software is much better. What am I not selecting on the settings? 😭

So just curious if this is plugged into an Apple phone will the sound come out of the phone speaker?
I bought the usb lightning camera connector , but the controler only light up for a second and then it turn off.
Do i need special connector with bigger volts?

Nice review. What's the maximum amount of bar loop when using DJPro? Can it go up to 16 bars? Will order one from you guys if so.
Within Serato DJ Pro you can go up to 32 beats on an Auto loop, so you're golden!

Just ordered mine for 70 EUR brand new . Already have DJ Serato Pro software. The only thing witch bothers me - there is no MIDS knob in EQ. Can you mix normally without it only with HI and LOW?

Which software are you using it with? I have been trying to find a hack to MIDI map the level knob to an EQ knob in Serato, but it can't be done.

I could compare the two, but they are quite different! You get more out of the Numark in terms of size and features, but the Hercules is Bluetooth!

It might be related to iOS/iPad OS version. OK on iPadOS16, not on 12.5.7 for me

can it be driven by power bank and what wattage power bank output is needed?
I’m going to guess any battery bank with usb A or C. Plug a $10 usb hub into it, then plug the iPhone into one port on the Gunn and then the controller and you should be good to go.

Absolutely - you press the headphone cue buttons - they're the two red buttons with headphones on them in the mixer section!

Iv installed dj pro but when I it’s all connected up only the lights on front of controller light up but there’s no way of pressing any buttons, on the app tried searching for “MIDI” devices and nothing on there either

Hey there! Can I plug this controller to Trakor DJ 2 soft ? I think "Traktor" is more professional that "serato"
It's not officially compatible, but there are MIDI mappings available to download online. Still, it won't work as well as it will with Serato!

Hey! This is predominantly a DJ controller, but there is a sampler in Serato. You're probably best looking at dedicating looping / samplers.

Having trouble loading song on the 2nd deck.

But when I try to get song on the deck 2 it won’t load ?

Unfortunately not Amazon Music. Try Tidal, it has a great selection!

Is there any information when the controller is not connecting and how to solve this problem. When I connect the usb cable, 2 things happen: the light of the controller twinkles, then I hear a sound, but the view It doesn't change to the 2 decks that I would normally see when I connect my sb3.
exactly the same issues I am experiencing too ... after plugin in the controller into usb either it wount found the device or when it is finally found and working it dissapeers from the usb it simply locks off ...
@@MrPaloompa If I tell you it's working now, you won't believe it. Make an update and delete the patch to connect to the controller
