I have that muscle mace and use that exact rep scheme and it does exactly what he says it does. That thing is monster. The middle mace is the hardest one, especially if doing it a part of a superset. Fun thing to avoid from the top mace is the tap on the nuts if you're not standing back far enough.
Med ball throws are highly underrated, they are great for a quick warm-up on bench day. Personally I love doing a med ball throw circuit for gpp work, where I do random throws nonstop for 10-20 minutes. Throw the ball, jog over to it, pick it up and throw it again, repeat. That gpp workout is a gem from a free Basic Conjugate Manual e-book that Dave wrote (with Jim Wendler I believe) I highly recommend it to anyone, a quick yet info-packed read.
