Oh boy, this one is a DOOZY today. I'm going to attempt to decorate every room in my Animal Crossing: New Horizons house with the help of my 'mood cubes'. Mood cubes are little 4x4 aesthetic cubes that I made for each room, to help give me a place to start before I tackle the real thing.

This is so cute! I love how themed rooms look but my brain is like “this is your house you have to have normal house rooms or else you’ll die”
I usually thought the same but I made a bedroom+study/chill room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room, and then I still had 2 rooms left (entrance and cellar) and I didn't just want a cellar full of random crap. But I still started filling it out with my bug models bc I had no ideas. And then I transformed the cellar into a bug room, with a little calm reading nook
Then for the middle room, after only having a crafting bench, kitchen and mirror for the longest time, I realized since I was mainly using it for crafting anyway, why not just make a crafting room
So I did. And I really loved it. It still works for exactly what I used to use it for (except the kitchen since, well, I made one and I rarely make food anyway so it doesn't matter) and it got my house to S rank from HH!

As for the bathroom, when a room is too big, I partition off a whole corner. Gives the space a unique shape & helps me see new ways to design. Idk a thought for ya 💛

If you open the airport gates, the villagers won't come into your house while you're decorating, works every time for me :)
in the bathroom you should put one of those yellow crates in front of the sink like those step stools that you used when you were little!!

Ok your ideas for arranging the main room were amazing, I don't have an upstairs or basement yet but all my rooms are cute except for the frickin main one! It's a mess! I hate it and choose to ignore it cuz idk what to do with it ! Lmao but the partition wall and bookshelves were an excellent idea. Bravo

btw just a tip for the future, but if your villagers come into your home and your in a rush don't speak to them, they will leave like within a minute or two. I noticed that once when I was kind of half afk on the game one day and a villager so happened to come in to my house loll.
If you leave the cockroaches alive, your villagers will come in, go, “Ew!” And leave. (Dunno if this applies to lazies.)

I was thinking one way to more easily get the items you need for build would be to import them on your hacked switch and then fly over to collect them, like your very own little treasure island!
