I just love this pattern. My son and his wife are expecting their first baby and both sides of the family are Ecstatic! In the past two weeks I've crocheted 1 blanket, 2 dresses 1 sweater one pair of Mary Janes and now your little ballerina slippers. They are simply adorable. I think her mommy & daddy will love them. Thanks for sharing! Now on to making a bonnet to go with them.
I have written sizes 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 inches, the videos of these magical Mary Janes, and new additional designs will be available for free from August, followed by booties for children and adults. Fantastic collection for home made Christmas gifts :) Don't worry if you're bigger than the sizes mentioned, these are being worked on too, and will become available as soon as I'm happy the pattern is equally as good as the rest. All subscribers will receive an email when the new videos are released. Thank you.
Thank you Kaen, I made my first ballerina slippers for my friend's girl and instead of the bow I used ribbon to thread through them and wrap around the ankles, your instructions are so clear, I have tried for years to make crochet and this is the first time I have competed the task, I am so pleased, thanks you again. Sam x
Hi Karen, I love these booties and have made one so far. I am left handed and had no problem following you until the start of the bow, in case any other leftys are trying this instead of starting the bow on the right side when you are looking at the front we have to start on the left. I learned the hard way many times when it comes to directions that call for going right or left we have to do just the opposite to get the same outcome.
I enjoy your videos but I always end up watching them over again because your voice is so soothing that it puts me to sleep! But it’s just a beautiful voice and I don’t mind re-watching the video. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thank you for your handy video. I have surcht a long time for a patern vor baby booties. I found them but in englisch. I understand englisch but reading and writing is difficult being dutch. Aspecialy al de abridgement. Seeing you doing it in your video I now no what to do. Thank you for that. I already have made a few confers also with the help of your video.
Oh Karen these are adorable I absolutely love them this is definately my next project to try. I'm very new at this only been trying crochet for a week I've been knitting all my life but I definately love it thank you x
I want to thank you for the great tutorial. I do not speak English and understand it hardly, but your guide is so well done, I have not understand much of the language, you show everything in detail and I can count to 40 in English yet. :)
Thank you so much for everything you put into these videos, i find you clear & at the perfect speed for me, i love the history lessons too. My ballerina slippers turned out great. Ive never enjoyed making baby shoes so much :)
Thank you for sharing the only Maryjane booties wander full Job well done. I hope that I can accomplish the Maryjane for my first granddaughter. I will let you know.

Thank you. It's really hard to find tiny booties , my grandson was little not premi but tiny this will work well for my next grandbaby on the way and my best friends first grandchild due around the same time .thanks
Lordy Lordy lol I'm at it again with more questions. First Happy Easter everyone. Karen might be too busy or tired of my questions. Please I'm asking them to anyone :) today's question is in regards to join the round back at the center. It says to skip 'something' and go into the top of the first HDC. What? I try rewinding over and over. The problem I think is I don't know how to recognize a particular stitch done in the previous round or row. I'm new so please forgive my ignorance.
+rrnettie28 Happy Easter :) No, I'm not fed up of your questions, I've actually been trying to find a yarn we have in the UK and the US so we can try and work out what are the equivalent yarns :) I think a little video explaining will help. I will do that next week, but for now please go to the description box under my video, click show more and you will find the written version of my pattern for you to use to help you :) Happy Crocheting x
Thank you for sharing the bow tie Mary Jane booties! It is easy to follow, I liked seeing how you did each stich and that you put the pattern in the describtion! I haven't crocheted in a long time, and need some success! I think I do do this!!!:) 💕 I want to make these for my 2nd Great Grand baby we're hoping for a girl😇... Loved your video, you have a calm way, much appreciated. I liked and subscribed. Thanks again!
Just made one. Super easy and cute. They are a little big for my daughter's American Girl Doll. What can I do to make them a little bit more snug? Instead of starting with a chain of 9 maybe do 7?
I love these slippers.have never followed a set pattern before.guess i need to learn about tension as i did 3 of these, all came out varying sizes, ha. Also, for us newbies, i think we need some of the tricky parts clearer. For instance, the part of crocheting 2 together. Found that very difficult and had to re-do a few times. Wasnt getting that you were going into 2 separate stitches to put together, thought you were doing 2 hdc in one stitch. Could do with seeing that part clarified. Anyway, want to keep trying tho it is a bit tricky to see totally clearly on the tricky bits. (You'd probably need a newbie in person to show you where we get confused - maybe i need to take more lessons....) thanks for the video tho. My slippers will pass as recipient isnt a crocheter. :)
Im having trouble with round 4. I have done every round correctly (i always double check) but i seem to have 8 extra stitches after the 8 hdc...please help me! 😣
Your confusing with this pattern on round two you stated put two half double crochet in the next six stitches however you are doing double crochet instead... Which stitch should it be I appreciate your sharing this pattern😄
She says half double but she clearly does double. I think she cleared it up very nicely! I love the pattern and have gone back to it time and time again to make these adorable little booties!
Here's a link to my new easy magical pattern, this tutorial is to crochet a baby string vest th-cam.com/video/kf7AMTPaZbs/w-d-xo.html A beautiful pattern to keep you occupied while waiting for the larger Magical Mary Janes.
+Dulce Esquibel You're welcome, I hope you will pop back to see My Easy Crochet Converse style Slippers...I'm aiming to have them uploaded by the middle of October :)
Hello thank you for your beautiful baby shoes. I love them. Do you have little girls and adult sizes? Also I've been trying to figure out these purple and white crochet tennis shoes. Is there some way I can send you the picture and can you do a tutorial on them?
Omg your video/ pattern is the first bootie I have ever made that is not lopsided!! Do you have any suggestions as to how to modify other patterns so it joins at the center each time? I tried Wooly Wonders slippers and I love her & her patterns but had to use this pattern instead bc they were always slanted. Thank you so much!!!!
th-cam.com/video/KYIo_eoGanI/w-d-xo.html this link should help, the patterns are written in the description box, if you are using a tablet to watch, click on the title of the video and it should show you the description box 😊
Maria Lopez I can't say what age group because all babies grow at different rates. If you can get the measurements of the foot, that will help you more. According to www.healthyfeetstore.com) - 12 month old feet can vary from 3.25 inches to 5 inches long.
you'll yarn over (like a double crochet) insert into the stitch and grab your yarn, yarn over, pull through all three loops. Theres some nice tutorials on yt.
Ok I'm probably being a pest but I'm so in love with these adorable slippers and want to make them for my granddaughter who will be here in June :). I am thankful for your reply regarding hook size, which of course I see now is in the video lol. I asked another question regarding the yarn used. I wanted to know the weight. The brand you are using isn't readily available in the states. I will order from the site you suggest. However, would you know of a comparable one that is easier to purchase? And now a second question: I'm new to crochet so this might be really silly - do you wash yarn and dry before beginning a project? Thank you so much 😀
I am trying to make these. I'm confused at the end of round 3. Your written pattern says the last 2 dc go under the chain 2?? And then round 4 is crocheting 8 three times which is 24, I end up having left over, what am I doing wrong?
Well I went threw all of your comments and seen someone asked what size yarn you used and there was no answer. Is the UK yarn the same as the Australian? If so could you tell me what size you used? I seen a video that said your 8 ply is the same as our 4ply and that your 4ply is the same as our baby weight. Thanks
On the second go-round I believe you said " "after 5 double crochet in 5 stitches, do two hdc crochet in the next six stitches" and then you proceeded to do two dc instead. Is this right?
has anyone have this answer since I can't find it. Then in another video it says theres a correction but it was too confusing. I understand this was 3yrs ago but i'm sick of trying to find this answer in other videos relateing to the mary jane other shoe styles??/
+katy jacob I'm sorry about that, I wasn't trying to teach people to crochet, I was just showing my pattern and sharing it in the description box so you could have your own copy and work at your own pace. I have published the larger sizes now, and in that video I use a 6.5mm hook and chunky yarn, perhaps that might be easier because the stitches are clearer to see and I do crochet slower with thicker yarn :)

Looks like a “G”.
