- Niramala Panta, 13-year-old girl from Kanchanpur, Nepal, was found rap*d and m*rdered in a sugarcane field near her home on 27 July 2018, after she had gone missing the day before. The news of the incident went viral on social media and received widespread condemnation. In the subsequent days and months, various justice campaigns and mass protests were organised throughout the country to put pressure on the government and the police. The first investigation carried out by the local police and a team from the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) drew widespread criticism for its methods and conduct.

Justice Should be Served for nirmala 💕
It is so saddening to hear news of rape and its frequency in Nepal. However, increased number of rape case is good sign. The key point is 'case' or 'report'. Increasing rape case has raise question where our society is moving. But, at the same time increasing reports suggest that more and more females (may be males as well) are daring to report cases. Maybe still people hope in our police and should be. Increased cases also suggest that more people are now empowered, educated and willing to raise their voice.
May our police department and our government will work to solve this inrooted serious problem.
And, we as a society should not protect rapists. Rapists are in our society even though people know about them and their crime. So, it is our duty to not protect our friends, brother, son or family member if they have committed a crime.
Rape cases will only decrease if rapists are willing to accept it is crime and this can only be possible with effort of our society as a whole.🙏
Sadly, our laws doesnt recognise "Male rape" cases unless a minor is a victim.

@@godisgreat_7 You must not have read the whole comment. I am not saying that increase in rape accident/victims is good sign, indeed it is bad for our society. All I am trying to make others understand is that rape case numbers are increasing due to more girls are daring to file cases. More victims are filing rape case is a good sign but increase in rape victims is indeed bad.
Shame on Nepalese judiciary, this was the great slap on justice from criminals, a girl raped and killed brutally but did not find the justice after years , I feel we nepali born as nepali was our greatest misfortune of our life .
How come judiciary is at fault here??

I do emphasize the sex education, importance of consent, women empowerment. Ofc rape is defined differently in different societies based on how gave is the knowledge but rape is a blurring of sexual advances without considering consent. So it can happen even in marriages, btw different genders and circumstances. Objectifying women or men should be changed. A society should be talking about sex and how to deal with urge and how to report and protect sexual harassments. Workplace harassment and signs of abuses. Yesta dherai kam gara ajai baaki cha. What we aren’t doing is correct way of discussing this matter. Sex is a basic need of human but forcing one to other isn’t. This topic is so dynamic my mind blows away.
