    Thank you for the video, was fun watching it.
    Regarding Sella Turcica: believe it or not, it was described in 16-17 century, and at the time the Ottoman Empire was far more influential in many aspects(mostly the one true threat for Europeans' safety and their pituitary gland). It was first named as sphenoidal saddle/horse saddle in 16th century, but then renamed as Turkish Saddle in 17th century because #fashion. (and it definitely resembled the turkish type of saddle compared to other saddles at the time). #doofus

    Happy healthy 2021 Medicosis! One quick question; will you be uploading the endocrinology videos gradually, or will there be a whole endocrinolgy course? Both ways are perfect in any case, although I will have my exam soon and maybe I should stop postponing to study by myself :/ Of course I would rather enjoy your humourous videos!

    A friend who is Native American told me how the Indians used to diagnose diabetes in the days before white men. They would have the patient pee near an ant hill. If the ants scurried towards the urine, it was full of glucose.

    • @MedicosisPerfectionalis
      @MedicosisPerfectionalis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow!
      That’s very interesting!
      I heard about other ancient methods as well, like tasting the urine, or using the urine to water a certain type of plants, and if the plant grew, then the urine had glucose.

    its turkish saddle because the turkish nomads and ottomans used to have saddles with high front/backplates, rather then low ones like in europe or other areas. and the sella turcica also have high borders... so its became turkish...

    Cause Turkic people are the first ones who domesticated the horse, and they were the best riders of the ancient times, almost grown up on the horse. So, you couldn't imagine a turk without a horse, and a horse without a turk, and a horse without a saddle. So if something resembles a saddle, naturally it resembles a Turkic saddle.

    Dear Medicosis: Turkish saddles were quite a bit more curved than other saddles. LOL, apparently the Turks were not very good riders, or frequently rode when drunk. You could not fall out of a Turkish saddle without trying very hard. On the other hand, English saddles, and dressage saddles, are very sleek and allow the rider to be more "one with the horse" with the price that the rider had to actually have good balance and know how to ride. I am sending you a couple of pictures via email.
