as a law student, if one party is failing to meet the terms in the contract they are liable to be sued by the other party. not meeting payment deadlines, or not paying at all is a grounds for a suit. if any of those creators have the means they should definitely contact a lawyer, they are in no way out of options for getting their money, or getting out of the contract. going to court sucks but its the best way to get payed and get out of that contract. there are also various other means to get out of a contract like deception, or misrepresentation, but they need a good lawyer who can formulate those arguments.

Yeah signing a contract with those kinds of terms is beyond negligent. Not to say the creators "deserved it" because of course they don't, but rather that it's such an immediate blazing red flag that you either can't be looking anywhere near the contract or had to be purposefully ignoring it.
Well, he did create the video and spoke the name of the alleged group, as we saw, but AFTER he talked to a lawyer and BEFORE he released the video, he censored it, to cover his ass at the advice of his legal team. The fact still remains, he made the video before censoring it.

And while I’m not in this profession for the money, this is still something that I will need to talk to my representative about. It used to be that the record company made almoat all the money and the musician would get a percentage of the money, so now that vinyl has come back I don’t know if it will work the same way or not. I saw this term in an SCP article and I think it sort of applies: Bureaucromancy. Insanely harmful contracts, almost beyond what's humanly possible in terms of predatory legal practices, that are still somehow legal to be made. Hope they get theirs, all the best to those who are locked in predatory contracts with them.
Remember you can get out of a contract if EITHER party enters into it in bad faith or doesn't uphold the terms of the contract. If the contract states they'd pay you on this pay schedule and they haven't that's breach of contract.
The amount of people that sign contracts without even reading a single word is MUCH more common than I would have ever imagined. This is also a HUGE problem in the Vtuber industry at the moment. So many people signed contracts and they are currently being taken for a ride. Sad times indeed. READ YOUR CONTRACTS PEOPLE! Legally the contract is breached as one party to the contract has failed to comply with the contractual terms. Thankfully, it will be easy to evidence the breach given as the terms are clearly indentified in the written contract. The content creators will be discharged from the contract and its ridiculous 10 year term and be entitled to compensation. It should be fairly straightforward legally, but given the value of money involved, an experienced lawyer would be best. I would also report the business to trading standards for the company to be investigated. I hope this helps - thank you for raising awareness of this!

I am a super small creator, but know from personal experience how tight-knit, open and inclusive this community is. I have made plenty of a good friends with creators of all sizes, from small to huge. It's not a 'big name game' in that sense. Everyone is friends with everyone, everyone is open about the small to the big stuff when it comes to TH-cam and the business side of things. This idiot is going to get rung out.
