In hindsight that we only see Officer Nolan with the detective comes from that toxic set that saw Afton Williamson leave the show. One thing seems certain was that after the first season whoever was the LAPD cultural advisor left as we got less "boot" or "shop" and everything in the city happening out of Mid-Wilshire Division with their watch commander as the seasons progressed.
so I just realized something. When you guys say that he’s been grabbing the PA instead of the radio the whole time, I think he’s actually grabbing both. I saw a video of a LA officer in pursuit of a work truck and the guy driving was calling out his radio transmission over the PA by accident. I think it serves both functions, but I could be wrong.
From the googles The LAPD has a seven month (28 week) academy followed by an eleven month (44 week) field training program. - I like how you're questioning the show in their usage of non-lethals cuz I've had it with people arguing on why the show lacks the usage of non-lethals. Non-lethals don't work all the time. - Chen knew who Ben is because Ben is Nolan's rich best friend and the landlord of Nolan's mansion who practically "gifted" it to him (He basically gives Nolan free reign to do with he wants with the house and wants no rental) and both Chen and Nolan was a couple early on in the show thus Chen knows about Ben and met him before. - Chen's "assault of a police officer" totally sticks cuz the bike didn't just randomly fell into Tim, the woman pushed it into Tim which then fell and hit him whilst she was waddling away. That, in itself, is caused by the woman so she technically still assaulted Tim in a roundabout way. Yes, it's a technicality but it still sticks as she caused it.
Yeah, tasers and OC spray have such poor success rates in the real world that I hate how often they turn to them in movies and shows. It's seriously one of the most unrealistic things in film (and that's saying something)
@@OnlyCops I've used a taser before on a guy coming towards us 4 MPs with a knife and 2 tasers shot into him didn't even stop him till the 3rd one did and we're all holding the trigger whilst backing and him charging at us which should have worked. Also, non-lethal weaponry, especially taser, works depending on suspect's conditions. If they're extremely high on adrenaline or drugs for that matter, they don't really feel it hitting them as they overpower the pain. Then also, if you missed any prongs ie: 5 prong taser but only 2 stuck, you're also lacking in power thus you can't bring anyone down. Thus there's image of New York cops who actually uses tasers alot where they tried shooting at suspects and despite it landing and being used, the crims are still either running OR charging at them forcing them to shoot back. Tasers work but not 100%. I would say it works just 60%, 70% at best.

@@evesunny4372 I did and I'll say it again: Officer Worst, I mean west's redemption arc begins on the season 4 premiere and personally I think that will be Bill and Josh's favourite episode.
I always wondered, would Dispatch tell you to respond Code 3, or would that be the officer's decision (based on policies, discretion and all, I guess)? The thing with FTO being long, aren't you supposed to pretty much be like, a "ready" officer, like FTO is more of a "Let's see if you learnt everything" than a "Let's teach you!" and more of like a polishing it up? Also why do they have to make arrests? Doesn't pulling over a potentially stolen vehicle satisfy the need of being primary on a vehicle theft? And then on the contrary, would arresting one person for 6 charges really be counted? The "situation" is still just DUI and damage to city property(not sure that is what you're worried about at a DUI related collision?)? Also, would ONE uniformed and a detective do a sting without backup? I feel like there would be unmarked and marked units, maybe some plainclothes officers somewhere in the area ? xd Would a snitch really not be charged with any crimes? Wouldn't the crimes unrelated to the information you provide still be charged? E.g. assault and battery? Also Worst will be a great officer, maybe as like the front desk guy who would handle annoying people or something?
Going code 3 is always at the officers discretion. And part of FTO is to teach you how to find the right answers, not to make them for you. You would add all the charges in this case because there are different victims for some of the offenses.
What is it with movie cops an pilot sunglasses? I bet the guy who came up with it back in the 70? Wish he patented it. Nolan never learns. You don't ever volunteer for something. BTW Can he actually just do that? Go I wanna help'? Doesn't he have to check with someone higher than a wet behind the ear rookie? BTW might wanna be specific about what robot cop you want to be partner with. Just might end up with ED209 I've heard that can be a real buz killer .🤣
The Ray Bands are definitely what the kids call "a vibe". And yeah, I don't think Nolan should be doing anything without express permission from his training officer
The person that Chen gets most of her boxes checked for, looks to me like she needs urgent medical attention! she can't even walk straight, and seems to have some kind of brain fogginess, she cold have hit her head in the crash ... But they're just ... Milking her for charges, and don't seem concerned. am I seeing things that aren't there? Like if she just had some scrapes and bruises, that's fine, but in my mind the symptoms she's showing could be a concussion or brain bleed or something and possibly fatal, right?
Great question, I think if you have a good department and a great community then it can be a very rewarding career. If not, go be a fire fighter, all the perks with none of the problems 😅
16:15 Wouldn't the concern there be that the victim is still grappling with the guy there being a possibility of hitting him instead? 100% agree you don't wanna just run in and try to grab a dude with a knife cause you gonna get cut but would it be a bit sussy to shoot with the victim being so close?
Everyone's comfort level with a call like that is going to be different based on experience and skill level, but ultimately you want to minimize the risk to innocent people whenever you can.

Tims cant go to his wife for a meth possesion. His wife is clean....
I'm glad she turned her life around 🥰
Damn u guys really going fast, but dont worry officer west's redemption arc starts in the season 4 premiere trust
Dang... you did not just say that 😂
@@evesunny4372 I did and I'll say it again: Officer Worst, I mean west's redemption arc begins on the season 4 premiere and personally I think that will be Bill and Josh's favourite episode.
🤣 oh no
I always wondered, would Dispatch tell you to respond Code 3, or would that be the officer's decision (based on policies, discretion and all, I guess)?
I feel like there would be unmarked and marked units, maybe some plainclothes officers somewhere in the area ? xd
Would a snitch really not be charged with any crimes? Wouldn't the crimes unrelated to the information you provide still be charged? E.g. assault and battery?
Also Worst will be a great officer, maybe as like the front desk guy who would handle annoying people or something?
Another Smitty?
Going code 3 is always at the officers discretion. And part of FTO is to teach you how to find the right answers, not to make them for you.
You would add all the charges in this case because there are different victims for some of the offenses.
2ed last episode of season 1. There are 20 episodes
Woo hoo!
@@OnlyCops TNX Guys.
Can't wait for more!! ❤❤
They should be coming in hot!
what part of Texas are you from I am in round d rock
DFW area.
We are up in DFW 😊
@@OnlyCops DFW POLICE? well thank you for all you do
Yeeey more The Rookie!!!
Woo hoo!
Faking your death is illegal 17:52 pretty sure it’s some type of fraud
But did they file a Death certificate or was it all show?
@@JThal87 thats the question
It's definitely fraud lol
Chenford peak is S4-S5 imo
I need to get on it
Ill be completely honest here...just get a gaming pc on heavy discount for the same price at that point. No way this is sustainable
Agreed
Unrelated to the show. Im 32 looking at being a police officer. Is it a career path youd tell people to stay away from?
Great question, I think if you have a good department and a great community then it can be a very rewarding career. If not, go be a fire fighter, all the perks with none of the problems 😅
You guys have to react to chicago pd in the later seasons

Thanks for the suggestions!
Can you guys watch The rookie episode 5 Season 1 The switch where they switch training officers
I think we have it on our Playlist for rookie reacts 😊
16:15 Wouldn't the concern there be that the victim is still grappling with the guy there being a possibility of hitting him instead? 100% agree you don't wanna just run in and try to grab a dude with a knife cause you gonna get cut but would it be a bit sussy to shoot with the victim being so close?
ok, looked at it again and yeah, dude gets smoked
Everyone's comfort level with a call like that is going to be different based on experience and skill level, but ultimately you want to minimize the risk to innocent people whenever you can.
More swat!
They unfortunately got taken down by Sony, you can watch the ones we did on our patreon page for free though 😊
Officer Worst does get better... but that's just a low bar to pass. Personally he never grew on me. The later rookie we get is much better.
I'm excited to meet the new cast members!
West is my fav character, just b/c I look forward to how much yall can't stand him...
🤣🤣🤣🤣 well I'm glad we could bring some joy to your viewing experience lol
I'm with you on officer west he is not a good cop I personally never liked him I don't know why just something about him made me hate him
RENO 911
We have it on the channel!
"West Hero Arc", my black ass! I didn't like him in the beginning, and his arrogance just made me dislike him more as the show went on. Honestly, I'm fine with him no longer being on the show
Spoilers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but yeah, he is such a poorly written character
Y'all will never like West
He at least had a good moment where he confronted his dad about planting evidence, but so far it's not looking great 🤣
I totally agree with you about officer West. He is so self absorbed.
He doesn’t have a hero arc… he has a some cops are racist and we need to show that we support black lives in our show arc. It’s decently done but he is still a terrible cop.
West gets better, but true. In season one he was unbearable
I am looking forward to better West
