I think this is one of the best reviews I have seen. You tell your opinion but not push it to viewr. As well you give so many details and also fails. I also would like to see more electronics menu, to play around but I am bit geeky. Overall I would say very awesome review and thanks to you, my next car will be xc90 t8 hybrid. I think this is the top level SUV more leveled as a sporty look and for family usage. My favorite so far. Volvo is getting closer so the top brands from Germany. Great Review.
I own a XC90 T5 now, quite a old one by now. I was considering buying a Audi or Toyta SUV for the next car, but the new XC90 looks absolutely stunning.
Sniff The Monkeys Yea, and i think its actually not that expensive. Its about €10 000 more expensive than the old one on paper. But the standard equipment is that much higher. The old one the jump seat or 3:d row cost quite a bit extra. And also the base was 15" rims, for the new one base equipment is 20" rims. 9" LCD infotainment is also standard, GPS navigation, wood panels, and so on. Its probably equipment for €6000-7000 something. And the new car is quite a bit larger, and also more fuel efficient. For the T8 there is equipment for about a additional €6000 something compare to T6, this actually to my calculations make the T8 cheaper comparing the the fuel consumpson

***** Well.. i would think if you talking about Euro, The Cheepest one will be €50 000, its the 2x4 D4 version.... Cheape scate version... still its have the equipment packaged. About €56 000 for the next level up. The D5 with 4x4. Next step up, the T6 for €58 000. I would say, the D5 is a better deal then the T6. Yea you get 95 extra horse power, but you also get quite a bit more fuel consumption. So its only €2000 the short term, but around €10 000 over the life of the car. Next Steep up, the T8. €73 000, and its quite a €15 000 steep. I done some calcuations, and i get it to the T8 is quite a bit cheaper over the life than the T6 is. If you compare with the D5, is not that clear cut. So i would say... Dot ever buy the T6... if you cant afford a T8, you should not buy a T6, and you should really not buy a D5 aniway. The D4 is of cause the best deal, but also the worst of the cars.
OMG best auto review I've ever seen I love how you go into the design details. But I personally want that R-Design model but I wish it came with a lighter interior color option like the outgoing model! But hopefully the Kosta Buda gear lever will be standard in that trim option! But my favorite interior is........ It's so hard but the camel seats are soooo gorgeous and but that light beige interior is soooo superior. I must agree there is sooooo much to say about this car. I can't wait to own one

Fantastic Review ! Best i've seen from you . I Think Volvo has a Great future with this vehicle. Looks like a awesome Vehicle , I agree with you the Hybrid T8 is my Favorite , but depending on MPG the Diesel might be better option. In the US diesel vehicle sells have been slow mainly because of very poor implementation on such engines and the higher cost of diesel fuel as compared to Petrol.That is changing as the benefits out way the negatives derived from Diesel is known. Hi, I love that your reviews is in English! Most European channel reviews in their respective language and it's really frustrating sometimes. I love European reviews as they are more precise and specific, most of other reviewers especially American and Asian are very generic. plus it's a bonus that u are pleasant to look at ;-)
If I'm lucky I'm only a few weeks away from ordering an XC90 D4 Inscription. Having driven the X5 several times, as well as the Cayenne, I must say I'm completely in love with this car. The Cayenne is nice, but a little to expensive IMO. Strangely the X5 feels much heavier and less nimble than the XC90. And even after driving the GLC with Airmatic back to back with the XC90, it seems that Volvo has really done some magic in the steering and suspension department! The Volvo was far less floaty than the GLC, but at the same time much more comfortable. The XC90's quick and presice steering also made it feel much more nimble around town, despite it being alot bigger. I'm just really blown away buy the XC90, I'd never think I'd like it over the X5, but I really do!

Fully agree with the wheel buttons, I also noticed this at the motor show. Shame for such a pricy car. One downside (but not about the car) is the launch plan. Did the downpayment in October, due date in July, been postponed to December now. Such a shame...

you could move the middle seats via a leaver left/right of the head rest and via that enter the second row much eaisier.

Hi Thomas, I certainly like the White Body with the Light Tan Interior shown in your review, alternatively, the interior of the diesel version is awesome too, especially the Wood Trims.

Looks like a awesome Vehicle , I agree with you the Hybrid T8
is my Favorite , but depending on MPG the Diesel might be better
option.
In the US diesel vehicle sells have been slow mainly because of very poor implementation on such engines and the higher cost of diesel fuel as compared to Petrol.That is changing as the benefits out way the negatives derived from Diesel is known.

F Carv Thanks! Well you got a point there, although its mostly a problem with ivory seats, beige seats are not such a big problem as the ivory ones.

If I'm lucky I'm only a few weeks away from ordering an XC90 D4 Inscription. Having driven the X5 several times, as well as the Cayenne, I must say I'm completely in love with this car. The Cayenne is nice, but a little to expensive IMO. Strangely the X5 feels much heavier and less nimble than the XC90. And even after driving the GLC with Airmatic back to back with the XC90, it seems that Volvo has really done some magic in the steering and suspension department! The Volvo was far less floaty than the GLC, but at the same time much more comfortable. The XC90's quick and presice steering also made it feel much more nimble around town, despite it being alot bigger. I'm just really blown away buy the XC90, I'd never think I'd like it over the X5, but I really do!

Have purchased last October at the Paris Motor Show an XC90 T8 Inscription Luxe. I am dying to have it (even more after your review). Fully agree with the wheel buttons, I also noticed this at the motor show. Shame for such a pricy car.
One downside (but not about the car) is the launch plan. Did the downpayment in October, due date in July, been postponed to December now. Such a shame...

Furthurmore, you didn't talk about the "automatic pilot" which allows to don't touch anything in the car when you are on the autobahn. I heard the car can do the steering + handle the speed by following the next car.
Can't afford this one, but will go for a second hand one. Currently am enjoing my 2008, s40, after my confortable s80!. Drive a volvo and Feel the World.
