Vendée Globe 2024 - jour 48 (28 décembre)

🇫🇷 Cette nuit, en prenant un ris, la tirette pour hooker m’est restée dans la main... La galère ! Impossible de hooker la grand-voile, c’est-à-dire de bloquer le chariot au mât pour maintenir la voile tendue
Heureusement, j’avais une pièce de rechange : un chariot avec un système de hook manuel. Opération réparation : affaler la grand-voile, grimper de 2 mètres au mât et remplacer la pièce
Maintenant, ça fonctionne, même si je dois hooker de l’extérieur en allant au pie du mât. Pas pratique, mais ça fonctionne 💪

🇬🇧 Last night, while reefing, the hook pull tab broke off in my hand... What a hassle! It became impossible to hook the mainsail, meaning I couldn’t lock the carriage to the mast to keep the sail taut.
Luckily, I had a spare part: a carriage with a manual hook system. Repair operation: drop the mainsail, climb 2 meters up the mast, and replace the part.
Now it’s working, although I have to hook manually by going to the base of the mast. Not ideal, but it gets the job done! 💪
