It has a sound all it's own, and lovely to play.
I remember Bob Saxton showing me a bumble bee years ago at a fingerpicker's gathering in Wilkesboro, NC...I generally use a medium delrin Fred Kelly but I've got the light version as well...really glad Fred Kelly went in business! Great picking Larry...your gretsch sounds very nice. They really did a great job with those. I'm not sure I could adapt to the melita bridge..my gretsch anniversary had a 'space control' bridge but I replaced it with a bar bridge..just a little easier on my hand I guess.
Its ok, I replaced the top three setscrews on the bridge with flat panhead screws. That helped a lot. I left the bottom three as-is because they don't get in the way of the palm muting action. I used to see Bob quite often in Nashville...Heh, or at the Shoney's Buffet out on Elm Hill around lunchtime. Great picker he was! RIP Bob. I must say, it's probably the best Gretsch I've ever had. Sounds good, plays good...it did hit me in the wallet pretty hard though, I wasn't thrilled about that at first, but its worth every penny.
The great Hank Penny's theme sounds wonderful on that beautiful Gretsch. Fantastic pickin, as always.

Thank you Aaron. I find that I can obtain more control of the sound going direct thru the mixer rather than playing thru an amp and miking, etc.
