Can I offer you a couple of suggestions, 1- Never leave with your box up to full height when you pull away from a dump, let it drop to at least the 2nd last section on the ram. Your gonna wear the bushings out and the Ram and the tail-end of the box. You can see the top end getting wobbly on both units, plus the risk is higher of sending you to flopping it, especially on uneven ground. 2- Try putting more of an angle to the pony, say a 45 degree (12 o'clock and 3 o'clock or on the blindside at 9 o'clock). You're filling up the towbar area with dirt and placing more stress on the clutch and with the box also up, your drives are gonna lift off the ground a tad, making the truck work harder to get going. Saving your tire tread. As for the hairpin, good job, a lot of drivers wouldn't do what you did and keep it wide. The pony follows pretty close to the same track as the lead, but it is off-track still.

Some good suggestions in the comments. My uncle drove an 359 for ever aka till he turned 78 , that he bought off his brother's ready mix plant n stretched the frame n put a box on it. My uncle would leave his business cards in the concrete office and would be surprised on how many new contacts he would get. Another good place would be the local lumber yards. Load boards are for brokered general freight. The gravel business is different. You just network and put your name out there, even making “ sales calls” leaving your business card. My brother has an excavating business here in Western Colorado. Truck owners stop by once in a while, leaving cards. If a big job comes up, and his trucks can’t handle the volume then they start calling around for trucks.
Daum , I am always amazed at how much space you have to work with its like some one planed it out ???? I cant believe how far back the trailer is from the back of the truck .. The idea of weight distribution and bridge weight makes perfect since , Its interesting to see how things are done in other places ,
Not even just weight distribution but they are also made that way with the long connector so that in a slider configuration you can back your truck over the tongue and slide the rear dump bucket into your lead dump bucket to go into tighter construction sites that require only a straight truck unit.
Try backing up a hill to a job site on a narrow lane to deliver . Asked contractor how he planned to off load.....no room for forklift. Finally offloaded on 4 lane st, stacked at curb, than had to move every unil after I left.
