- UK producer Jonas Blue stopped by Genius to deconstruct his tropical summer hit “Perfect Strangers,” which surprisingly takes subtle cues from hip-hop boardsmen like J Dilla and Mike WiLL Made It.

It's amazing that this guy survived cancer but is still producing great music... Thank you and God bless you I look forward to some great summer tracks :)
Thomas Shelby he had cancer? Wow that makes me admire him more he's a legend
アルコール he's one of the most inspirational cancer survivors of all time
I think your thinking of the Jonas BROTHERS
For real..?
Thomas Shelby the Jonas brothers didn’t have cancer, Nick has diabetes.
4:30 --- THIS PART IS FREAKING *AMAZING*
perfect strangers was def my summer bop last year and it will be this year too!!
mrs.shakur this year it was mama
it's so cool I've never actually seen producers making beats
The "Jonas Blue synth" which is actually the "Kygo synth" :)
PAN FLUTE
Does anyone know where the preset can be found?

This track is probably the most original EDM hit of 2016. The vibes are awesome, and the song just works so well 😃

I'm so thankful this channel exists
Musically both the artist and producer are very interesting. That being said it'd be awesome if there were more "made-ofs"
Make more of these videos of beats!!!
love this song.. so addictive
These beat gives me the vibe of travelling around the world with just using my earphones or speakers.
I LOVE these kinds of videos! More producers please!
please keep this series going!!! really awesome
More making ofs
Amazing to watch these, please make more. Love seeing the thought process of these songs, and seeing them in sessions of programs I use, makes it feel possible to make something amazing :)
WHY IS THIS DECONSTRUCTED VIDEO SO SHOOORT 😭😭😭😭
Omg we need more from jonas blue please
1:58 omg i wanna full version only with this sound :D
Same
i feel like if he would've made the second drop a trap drop, and then went back into his more tropical 4 to the floor section it would've been a nice breath of fresh air that would've caught people by surprise
3:43 feels like "not this time for dance guys"
MAKE MORE OF THESE. THANK YOU
This is fucking sick
Glad that 2017 is now recognizing the producers. In the last two years, bet you didn't even know procuders like him and fun fact Charlie Puth was also a producer who worked for several artists beforehand his hit collad with Wiz Khalifa. Tbh 2017 was a great year for music.
Ok
Nice!!! I feel so good while listening to the breakdowns of my favorites tracks!
Anybody else wish they had a song idea coz after watching this I feel so Inspired but I wouldn't know what to make it sound like
Pointe Shoe World get FL studio
You make it sound like whatever you can imagine. It’s all about creativity 😊
Awesome video! I've never seen how a producer makes a music. Simply genius!
I like he sticked to what he envisioned.
💯
These videos are amazing; love it!
you need to do more like this, these videos are amazing!!!! love it
young metro young metro young metro
Joseph Fisher metro boomin want some more nigga . Then it's like crazy 808s like boom boom boom and it's like high hats titititititititititi. That's how every metro beat is.
@@Albert-xl3nx yeah but Metro Boomin make it boom..
I wish I could work with you on my album. You're awesome!
How about the making of either swang or real chill
Amazing videos. keep em coming
Boi-1da, J Dilla and Mike WiLL Made-It?! :OOO
I rly don't see the J Dilla influence on this record lmao
👽MrHalcyonmusic👽 lmao its bullshit
👽MrHalcyonmusic👽 J Dilla also used drums in his productions quite often!
Perhaps the lack of quantization was inspired by Dilla... just a thought.
Ckwnce 💭💭💭
Man you are a genius!🔥
I swear on me nan : I haven't heard this song prior to today
The song is legit so easy lol, it’s amazing how far it got
that's the secret tho. amateurs overproduce and overcomplicate things which a regular listener can't digest as easily.
@@costinvaly1 i mean i wouldnt say that, i mean look at skrillex and porter robinsons projects, there music still stands now more than ever
I´m interested in the criing sound in the background when the song starts :) Someone knows if there is a sample pack for this kind of samples?
criing?
you mean marimba?
its a vocal shot with reverb and some formant
giving producers a name in the game fuck yeah
Make more of these!!! 🙏
I LIKE THIS KIND IF VIDEO !!!!
the question is
where did he get those samples from. that brass is massive
He looks like Steve Angello and AN21's brother seriously
I bloody love GarageBand. It’s free! Get yourself a midi control or irig to plug a guitar/bass in and your away
More of these videos . Genius
don't let Genius fake you with their fake hype, the record was over 80 tracks and not 18 total. And I agree, they should get the producers and writers for Marshmello on here!!
TONAH How do you know that? You're literally overriding the producer's word with no proof or credit.
allroundlad go on the Future Music Magazine channel and find the video where he explains the full track, its a hour long.
by clicking on the suggested video on the right in the Future Music channel, where he breaks down all the complex busses and layering. I wasn't overriding his credit, I was just pointing how genius likes to fake hype the sheeple. Just look at the video for yourself. It's easier to fake you guys with a mix down than the actual track
thanks bro.
lol I guess because Genius puts out much shorter vids, they needed it simplified..
Didn't they already make this ?
Yeah. They deleted it for some reason last week
Shoutout to mike dean 3:20
I want this flute :D
Do illenium please!!
great series thank you
when he said mike dean i got happy
Sam Baxter same
He should make a deephouse track of the beat at 1:05 🤘🏼🔥
Yeah mate! I totally agree
Dirk vlietmans , thanks dude

This song is a masterpiece ✨ I'm a fan!!! 💕
Love this guy
Great talent
Genius indeed
Oh hey another genius 😁😜
if those tracks are actually are recorded through midi and not just bounced clips, then wow..
AWESOME PROJECT
Please get Martin Garrix here
What are the effects used to make the brass sound like that?? Great video!
Genius indeed!

Could you do the making of The Reason Why - JP Cooper ft. Stefflon Don, Banx & Ranx
so freakin genius..
Makes me more interested to edit songs
He's a genius
Flumee please
Nice studio
Jonas Blue "Mama" Please
Need more hip hop songs
Snare roll comes from house dj I believe . I never heard Mike will do that
masterpiece
he told about that song for one hour on Future Music Magazine :3
Makes it look easy then I jump on logic and..... nothing.
Wow he doesn't use FL or Ableton and he plays everything
Didn't know Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain produced music wtf
nice
I dont believe for one second he doesn't use the piano roll. Any tiny errors will be corrected and any out of time notes will be quantised.
im sure he is a great musician and everything, but his MIDI keyboard is too short to record the full range of, for example, the piano parts, which suggests that he does use the piano roll for some things
Cool!
3:43 It's so annoying when they cut right before the drop
I love this track, so this is really fascinating to see, and good to hear him acknowledging the afrobeat influences too.. 💥🔥💥 - @Acharich
0.2 db nice mix dude
3:43 14 reasons why
Genius 👍👏💯
my boyyyyyyyy using garageband
Crumblardo logic
Genius teach a lot of producers who with me?
he reminds me of that guy from Step Up revolution
Anyone know what was that blue box that he connects with his MacBook?
good job :)
Do thelabcook plug walk!
Why does he make everything an audio file instead of MIDI?
Saves cpu usage and easier to chop probably
Probably not the actual project file..
