My view is that Chelsea is in for a rejuvenation, with so many 30 and 30+ players they need younger players to stay on top in the long run. Emma has a longterm plan and her ability for group dynamic is one of her strengths.
I agree - They're both wonderful athletes but getting close to their use-by dates. I think bringing in Macario is the answer to Harder. She's an incredible attacking midfielder who'll combine with Kerr like magic. Not sure who'll fill the Eriksson gap or who'll come up to captain the squad.

The truth is Magda and Pernille wanted to go because their biggest goal is to Win the champions league and they won’t if they stay. You are waiting for Macario as the best reinforcement who comes from having an injury that requires more recovery time than Pernille's. And the injuries come from the wear and tear of playing several games without rotating the players or making them rest because you don't have a replacement on the substitute bench. I admit that they hurt Chelsea with the mandatory change of owners but blame the injuries, when they have players who have been injured more times than P. She came back from the injury and helped you win the last cup and when Sam had to leave she helped you come back to the top of the table.
@@balbuenabar ACL injuries aren't workload injuries, plenty of fringe players get them. Harder's injuries were older player injuries, calfs, hamstrings, and a player with a history of those injuries tends to becomes more susceptible as they get older. When did Sam have to leave?

She won't hit the ground running soon but will be good in long run. Harder leaving hurts because I feel she still has 2 yrs of top level football remaining. I believe they were offered a demanding one year contract..instead of the usual 3 year contracts. Emma Hayes says she found Pernille "eccentric" which to me means she did not get the best put of Pernille and esp. with all the shifting of positions during this rough last year. Having a hamstring injury requires a long rehab. Magda was also injured during the long times without Bright, Buchanan and she had to compensate for the holes in defence. Bright did not have a good year and made many mistakes. Madga is plenty fast as you can see, she beat Bunny a few times. Old age is just a poor excuse. The most prolific scorer of both women and men is Sinclair and she is almost 40. I have no idea what will happen but we will miss the creativity of those two players, they were on fire when injury free. The team played more games than anyone and without proper rest and recovery, there will be more injuries which eventually will cut careers short.
No player is irreplaceable, but if they get Macario, she may need time to adjust due to the injury and get used to another league. The irony that they brought in a player to dispute Magda's place but they never covered the left side of the defense correctly, they alternate between Charles and Carter that their blunders had to be saved by Magda and just this year it was not the best. It should also be noted that they play very far behind and do not have a good midfield to defend or generate play, and if your defense is not strong it is more evident, that is why it is somewhat rare that they criticize magda for not being so sure clearing when they never covered the left side correctly.

Ji's departure from midfield was greatly felt. It cost them horrors to generate games, they only throw balls at Sam.
