Yeah, it's funny, I agree that Subaru is a bit more "familiar" to people in, say, North America. But not because she's loud, because she's talkative and comes across as relaxed. She can hold up her side of a conversation. I would say that's a bigger factor than even the "extrovert" part. There's just more casual talking in the US. Like, imagine you're by yourself at a table, and your server comes up to you. Even if the server isn't super talkative, it's more likely that *something* extra gets shared. There's less of a barrier between you. Maybe you see a pin they are wearing, or they see your ring that they recognize. But from the experience of a couple of friends, even if you're Japanese, it's less likely that a server will say anything extra. It's more likely they stay in their "role" as a server and keep all discussion server-related. There's just less opportunity for "casual" talk.
Best thing is to set up a vacation party to Disneyland, Calli, Irys, Bae, Subaru, Miko, Sora or something like that, they could spend a few days, meet up with Ame, Gura, Ina or some thing like that. The Jp girls can become outright tourists
@@DrDarkheart That's a good point. Though I'd like to believe any real fan would just act normal and send a superchat later telling the story... Buuut some people are incapable of acting normal.

@@rovidelarosa Yeah, but its got a different feel than the mainland, more laid-back for one, and a lot more Japanese and Korean tourists than basically any other state but California.
"Yeah, but I won't use [my scythe]. You're my senpai, after all." All of Calli's kouhai: *nervous sweating* Also I think Calli might be overestimating how welcoming most Americans are to foreigners.
There is something funny about what Subaru is saying being translated to "People in Canada were good guys, good humans!" Canadians: "... guys, I think she suspects."
hahaha, what a great Shuba description of Canadians 😌 Hey we aren't loud in Hawaii, we're way more chill than mainland USA. And yeah, the average height here is basically the same as Japan, I was surprised by the similarity when I went to Japan
I know Subaru has talked about being in Canada going to English immersion school. There was one, I don't if they still exist but before the 'vid, they hosted students from all around the world for their studies. And they pair you up ususally from someone from an entirely different country. For example Subaru could have been paired with someone from Argentina, thus they can't converse in their native languages but had to resort to using English in order to converse. I used to meet these students on the bus every once in a while, usually they were asking for directions to get to their host family as they had gone to a restuarant and had no clue where they were nor what the address was
If Subaru went to America for a short visit (like maybe 2-3 business days) and then return to Japan.. She won't be the Subaru we know anymore 🤣 Cultural shock is a thing, and I've experienced it multiple times already. My family always told me I've changed quite a bit after returning from each different country lmao
Nah, 2-3 months of actually travelling and realizing some states are as different as entirely separate countries would...but 2-3 days for a country like the US would be the equivalent of spending an hour in Japan and pretending the whole country is like that.
Yeah...it's like when Flare and Lui and them went to Disneyland in California...SoCal is about as representative of the US as one shoe is of all shoes. (that is to say, very little outside of the largest cities in the country)
Though I must say, "when" does this first impression? Cause if we went back to the age of cthulhu-subaru, she's a bit unhinged hence why holomembers were so afraid of her lol. Even the more or less similarly unhinged ID1 was once scared of her It's not until recent years that she's more approachable
Kinda like saying Okinawa is part of Japan, lol. It's true, but it's about as far as you can get from the parent country in a cultural sense, while still being part of the country in a political sense.
Calli : americans are loud and talkative
Subaru : i have found my people
subaru also being a notable pop tart addict and goldfish cracker addict
starting to make me wonder if she was born in the wrong country 🤣
For once Subaru found somebody not scared of her big extrovert energy. Subaru is a high level extrovert in Japan but just average in America.
So many people tell Subaru they were scared of her so it must've been really nice to hear Calli found her easy to talk to
Thanks for the subs!
She's definitely the most American of the current JP girls, makes sense she would get along with one of the most American EN members.
Calli came off as a big softie since debut even when she tried to act tough.
only people she gets tough on are her haters 😂

This might be the first time Subaru hasn’t been seen as scary for the first impression

I now really want Calli to take some of her JP senpai and bring them to America to show them around, like the JPs have done for ID and EN.

Issue with that is Calli is probably the most recognizable of the English side imo so I doubt management would let that happen
